...Cameron Highlands is a highland region located east of Ipoh state. It is 1500m above sea level and has a cool climate, temperatures not rising above 25 degrees and not falling below 12 degrees year-round. I went to Cameron Highlands with my parents on Monday, the 8th. We stayed at Hotel Equatorial, which is one of the best hotels in Cameron. We visited many key attractions, including the strawberry farm, rose gardens, vegetable farms, tea plantations, bee farms, cactus farms and many more. At the entrance of Equatorial Hotel, to your left, you will go down to Kea Farm, where many stalls lie in. This farm is by far, the most crowded and popular among locals and tourists. However, the traffic there is very messy and you have to be very careful. In Kea Farm, I would recommend a stall selling deep-fried oyster mushrooms, sweet potatoes...

Fathers Guest House, great place in the Cameron Highlands

Advantages: Location, views, surroundings
Disadvantages: Disappointing dorm room

...Fathers Guest house has the perfect location on a small hill overlooking the tiny town of Tanah Rata in the Cameron highlands. Situated outside the town, but only a 3 minute walk into it, it has fantastic views and is tranquil but still has access to any activities the town has to offer. If you call the owners in advance letting them known when you will arrive then they will collect you from the town and save the walk up the hill with heavy bags. They also tend to be one of the touts who wander the bus drop off area and so if you arrive by bus then there is almost always someone there who you can ask to get a lift up the hill. Driving up towards the guesthouse the first thing that is obvious is that this is a beautiful area. The views from the top go right across the town and amongst the rolling hills of the area. ...It can be fun sometimes to take a wander through a famous director's back catalogue and see the kind of trash they churned out before hitting the big time. On the rare occassion you'll come across a Spielberg hitting the silver screen with a superb movie like Duel, but other times you come across the likes of James Cameron and his debut "Piranha 2: The Spawning" which must surely go down as one of the worst movies ever made. In fairness you can't lay the full blame upon Cameron's doorstep because it seems that he wasn't saddled with a movie holding much potential in the first place. Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
