He actually was not initially going to try out for the television talent show, he was at the auditions to support his brother but, after some pushing from his brother, decided to audition too. A good decision, because he became the winner of the seventh season of American Idol in 2008. David Cook is classified as a Rock, singer-songwriter. His sound is definitely very rocky, but in my opinion quite soft rock. He has a very deep, raspy voice that lends itself very well to this type of music. ...I've never been a good cook but after my friend let me have a go on her Cooking Mama game I had to buy it for myself! Basically, you have to make a dish and at the end you get a grade from cooking mama, depending on how well you make the dish. The grades are Gold, Silver & Bronze with Gold being the best, Bronze the Worst. Cooking Mama is similar to games such as Wario Ware because of the fact you will be given a short amount of time to complete simple actions which can be anything in Cooking Mama such as slicing, mixing, pressing food , grating & even pouring! All these actions are done with the Stylus by swiping, tapping, or scribbling on the DS screen. ...Cooking Mama challenges players to use their stylus as a master kitchen tool to cook lots of real world dishes ranging from pepperoni pizza to cabbage meat rolls. The game makes good and inventive use of the DS stylus and microphone with players use the stylus to chop, slice, pan fry, knead, grate, mash and peel. You can even share recipes with your friends via the DS's WI-FI settings, this gives the game extra depth as you try to out-cook your friends! ...Although I do try to moderate the amount of television that my two young daughters watch, there are some programmes that I have to admit are really rather good and definitely worth switching on for. One such programme is Big Cook Little Cook which is shown most days at various times on the cbeebies channel. This really is an excellent programme that is sure to get children interested in cooking - which in these fast food times can only be a good thing! There are two cooks on this programme - unsurprisingly they are Big Cook and Little Cook - who run their own cafe. Big Cook Ben (played by Stephen Marsh) is a full sized person whereas Little Cook Small (Daniel Wright) is no bigger than a mixing spoon! ...Big Cook Little Cook...... Big Cook Little Cook is a programme that is aired on the CBeebies channel and is aimed at pre-school age children. The show has two presenters one big cook names Ben and a small cook named Small. (Of course, he is not actually small in real life but they have got an average sized person but filmed him so he appears to be about 5 inches tall). These two cooks own a cafe where different characters come to eat different types of food. They have characters from al the major fairy tales and of course on their Christmas show Father Christmas came to eat in the cafe. The programme is a little like a cookery show for children but a lot of adult help is needed. Also a lot of the food that is made i should think is not overly nice as it is a bit of a mixture of things put together to make something suitable...

...Cooking Mama is a brilliant game for any age, however, it can get repetitive for the older gamers after a while. The game involves you making meals for Mama and she gives you a score out of 100 on how well you did, and depending on your score you can get a bronze, silver or gold medal. When you complete a meal it unlocks others for you to complete, and you can also combine different meals to make a new one. When I started to play this game I could not put it down because its so addictive to play. My favourite part of the game has definately got to be dicing and slicing different foods, however, I find peeling the shell off the boiled eggs really hard to do and still have yet to complete it! I don't know whether thats just me though that finds it so difficult!! Haha. Overall, it is very good value for money and I recommend this...

...I was bought this when I went to university. My auntie bought it me thinking that it would suddenly turn me into the next Deliah Smith or something but it didn't really have this effect on me at all! I didn't really use it and it was a good job it was quite a cheap buy so I didn't feel guilty for the fact it sat on my book shelf, hidden by all the huge text books I had to buy! Who is it for? This book is really very obviously aimed at students as you can tell by the title; "The New Students' Cook Book". When I first saw it I presumed that a cook book for students would contain very quick and simple recipes.
