FREE DVDs
Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review
...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them.
∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊
Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54
Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.
...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied.
On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

JPG Le Male - from a female perspective!
Advantages: Sexy smell, long lasting, great design, women love it!
Disadvantages: none
...I first bought this aftershave for my partner over 2 years ago, and neither of us have tired of it since. I bought it after a friend recommending it and I am so glad that I did!
THE PACKAGING
Ok, the baked bean tin exterior isn't perhaps the most original casing for a fragrance (although perhaps a useful storage pot!), but the actual bottle of JPG Le Male has become an icon because of it's unique, sexy design. It looks great on display, and I even have an empty bottle as an ornament on my shelf, alongside an empty JPG Classique bottle (the female equivalent, also in an attractive body-shaped bottle but in a dusky pink!). It looks much more stylish than many other perfume bottles around.
THE SMELL
Firstly, it is distinctive. I work in a bar and even in the smoky atmosphere I can still tell immediately when a customer is...

le cercle rouge
Advantages: Read Opp
Disadvantages: Read Opp
...le cercle rouge
Directed by Jean-Pierre Melville, this film is similar to his previous film Le Samourai, in that there are good guys and bad, and there are the cops and robbers. The translation of the title meaning the Red Circle was based upon a Buddhist motto about those people who are destined to meet, eventually will.
In this film the types of scenes included are an escaping prisoner, murder scene, police man-hunt, mob battles and an armed robbery to steal diamonds.
The film starts off showing a German named train running through I would guess Paris. Though scene by scene the actors performances and directions really smartly executed and cool to watch.
Corey, who has just been released from prison on good behaviour notice from the police, is given a job to do by a Prison Guard.
Inspector Bourvil is escorting...

Le Samourai
Advantages: Great Film
Disadvantages: Viewing Aspect ratio is Low
...Le Samourai
There is a small bird in a cage in a dull looking apartment room, a man wearing a trench coat and a felt hat, and he goes out of the room and adjusts his hat.
Jeff Costello (Alain Delone) then jumps into a car, with a set of master keys. He starts the car, and smokes a cigarette. Eventually he finds the right key by good luck and drives off. He then meets a criminal mechanic. The mechanic gives Jeff some cash, later goes to his pocket and gives him a gun. Here during this scene not a word is spoken. This film is low on dialogue though maintains a great sense of direction, pace and focus throughout. The suspense of each scene and the plot is amazing to watch.
He then goes to a flat and meets a young woman who is named Jane (Anthoine Delone). She is a woman who is there to provide an alibi for Jeff. It does not...

Home James!
Advantages: 18 tracks of pure brilliance and some wonderful lyrics
Disadvantages: None
...James are probably one of the most under-rated bands of the past 25 years. They formed in Whalley Range, Manchester in 1981. Band members came and went in a flurry of activity until the band came across Tim Booth dancing like a complete loon at a disco they had sneaked into. They invited him to join the band as their dancer (a la Bez in the Happy Mondays) but later he became their vocalist.
This 'Best of' collection was released in 1998 and contains eighteen tracks of pure brilliance.
Track Listing
1 - Come Home (Flood Mix)
2 - Sit Down
3 - She's a Star
4 - Laid
5 - Waltzing Along (single version)
6 - Say Something
7 - Born of Frustration
8 - Tomorrow
9 - Destiny Calling
10 - Out to get You
11 - Runaground
12 - Lose Control

Bland, James Bland
Advantages: Playability, Fun, Great Multiplayer
Disadvantages: It's no Goldeneye
...killed trying to use) and mobile vehicles (a rocket firing tank and the unbelievably excellent mini copter).
With the combative angst between the two of us, these would either see a 5-0 walk over or a swear induced 4-4 draw (1 level being tied) before the console would go off in disgust of drawing.
Although the memory's of the game are fond, I'll be patently honest, they are probably happy mainly due to the fact it was a family thing. I can't remember much of the game (though having not played it in 2 years this may be fair enough) but all I seem to remember are fond things of a slightly ropey looking shooter that was fun but nothing truly special. Even in those days there was better games available (MOH, Killzone) but yet this one always had us coming back. No reason why, maybe it was still the fact we could be James Bone, or maybe it was...

The Expérience Cinématique that is Le Grand Rex
Advantages: Good atmosphere, la Grande Salle,
Disadvantages: Expensive, small screens
...Going to the cinema during your visit to Paris might not top of your list of things to do, but Le Grand Rex is certainly not your everyday cinema.
Histoire
Le Grand Rex was opened in 1932 and is the oldest cinema in Paris. It has a long and interesting history, from its opening night on the 8th of December 1932, attended by a ritzy, glitzy list of 3,300 VIPs, to its occupation by the German soliders, who used it as a place to watch propaganda films.
The building is decorated in a typical art deco style, whilst the inside, particularly the 'Grande Salle' - the biggest room, which also boasts the biggest screen in Europe - is a mixture of art deco and baroque style.
Le Grand Rex is also home to a night club - Rex Club - which is attached to the building and is right next door. However, in the many times I've visited, this has...

James Wellbeloved
Advantages: Gluten, wheat free, dogs enjoy it and look great on it
Disadvantages: slightly high priced
...Feed this to 5 of our border collies.
Very good quality food and really good for dogs whos stomachs get upset easily, no wheat and gluten or un-natural preservatives that can irritate a dogs diestive system.
A good variety of flavours are available and different foods to suit your dog which James Wellbeloved will help you choose the right food to suit your dog.
The dogs all enjoy it and have shiney healthy coats, and what comes out the other end is as it should be rather than slightly loose.
Also they don't itch and scratch like some foods can cause dogs to do.
James well belovd offer a really good breeders scheme and are helpfull when ever we have contacted them offering sampes of their food to try before we changed our dogs over onto it to see if they liked it and if it agreed with them. They also offer support if you need any...

The Name Was Hunt, James Hunt
Advantages: A fascinating and intelligent account of the life of a sporting great
Disadvantages: The subject nature will perhaps put off those unfamiliar with Formula 1
...noughties. The 70s were politically turbulent, gaudy, vulgar and very difficult, but they were also energetic, abrasive and exciting years, years when things could get done without the need to jump through an assault course of hoops and people could tell others what they really thought of them (within reason) without inviting an immediate thumping by the passive-aggressive heavies of political correctness. Formula 1 in the 70s was as much a reflection of its time as it is now: it was loud, grubby, slightly chaotic, brash and very very dangerous. It also necessarily produced driving stars that were cut from a somewhat rougher cloth than that from which derives many of our sweet-young-things of the present.
James Hunt, for those who still have youth on their side, was one of Britain's most famous and talked-about sports stars of the 1970s. He...
