Advantages: Great sound, Great looks Disadvantages: No remote control
...The JBL On Time is a stylish, high performance iPod dock, RDS radio and alarm clock, available in black or white finish. It's one of the more expensive iPod docks on the market, but as with most things, you get what you pay for and the sound quality is FAR superior to cheaper alternatives (I also own an older Intempo iPod dock which was much cheaper but the sound quality is awful).
JBL are specialists in audio and it shows, the "Halo acoustics" system produces a rich, full sound from any direction and is more than enough for a bedroom or small to mid-sized living room. Before buying it, I'd only heard it inside a large, noisy department store and the sound didn't completely convince me, but I took the risk and bought one. After trying it at home, I'm more than happy with both the volume, and the quality of the sound.
My i...

Review of JBL ON TIME
Advantages: Wonderful sound quality, Suprisingly low price, Amazing design Disadvantages: None that I can see.
...Before I bought these speakers about a year ago, I had thoroughly searched the internet for any opinion, review, press release, and editorial on the Creature II and discovered that these were rather exceptional speakers. Yet I was still concerned that this was a product of design over quality - simply due to the shockingly small size of the satellite speakers (about the size of your fist), and that JBL were more concerned about desigining some speakers that would complement Apple Macs than impress the music listener. Even when I went to Tottenham Court Road to test out the Creature II, I was not quite convinced that the audio quality was up to scratch. This could have been due to the fact that it was very noisy in-store, with lots of people and the obligatory shop muzak playing - obviously no condition to seriously compare speaker...

Review of JBL Creature II
Advantages: Excellent sound for an excellent price! Solid build, 100 watts RMS Disadvantages: None for the price!
...I have owned 2 pairs of JBL Control 1 speakers and they have never let me down! The first pair I owned I gave to my dad as he liked the sound so much!
These are bookshelf speakers and measure (H x W x D) 227 x 130 x 140 mm. They can be mounted on a stand, on a shelf or you can also order the wall brackets from jbl.
For the size they have an excellent sound, warm solid bass with crisp mid and treble. They are 100 watts RMS and can really handle some power. The speaker is 2 way, comprising of a 4" bass woofer and a 1/2" titanium laminate dome tweeter. These speakers also feature a front mounted bass port. When you play the speakers loud its is astonishing the amount of air that is forced out of the bass ports!
The speakers case is extremely tough, I have dropped one of my speakers (accidently, not some extreme test!) from...

Review of JBL Control 1
Advantages: Great sound, pro speakers Disadvantages: A bit small
...Ok where to start, My dad got these speakers quite cheap a while back and since then they have done nothing. My mum thought they were to loud for the kitchen so they sat in a box until I found them!
I was looking for a pair of speakers to go with the turntables and mixing desk I had just got cheap on ebay but I didn't want to spend anything on a pair. My dad took these out of the garage so I looked them up on the internet. I couldn't find them on the JBL site but after searching I found that they were on the JBL pro website and these were actually professional studio monitors. I didn't wait around, I took them off my dad and went to wire them up. A few weeks later I got a set of Wall brackets and I was on my way.
That was 2-3 years ago and these are still my speakers in my room, although me and my dad are making speakers cabinets...

Review of JBL X 1 Control
Advantages: It plays music Disadvantages: It has a massive range of serious flaws in design.
...The JBL on tour speakers are average, at the most. For their high cost, you wouldn't expect some of the severe design flaws present in it. The audio quality is relatively good considering it's size, and the maximum volume is very high, albeit containing sizable amounts of distortion on the higher volume settings. Of the desing flaws, there are many. Some are:
Not including a "turn off/on" option, instead giving the user some not-so-obvious ways to do it. One being simultaneously pressing the Vol+ and Vol- buttons to turn it off. Also when it is turned on you have to hammer the Vol+ button to increase the volume to the desired amount.
The 3.5mm-3.5mm cable idea.
If you lose this cable, you're totally screwed. You have no place to store said cable anywhere when it's not in use because it's impossible to actually close the JBL...

Review of JBL On Tour
Advantages: compact, mobile, cheap, good sound Disadvantages: lake of base, sound volume can struggle at times
...The first thing your bound to notice from these mobile speakers for your mp3 player is the style that JBL creates through a vast majority of its products. Its slide back function reviling the two built in speakers adds a pleasant feel to the product and helps with its overall purpose of compact ability and mobility.
Due to its small and yet robust design these speakers are great for that weekend away as they fit comfortably in any bag, or even a large handbag. The small measurements also mean that it will sit nicely in any situation from the top of a computer desk to the bed side table for a bit of night time music or that early boost to shift you up and out in the morning. Setting them up is as easy as it looks, with either batteries or mains supplying the power you simple turn on, plug in the I-pod or other mp3 and slide back to...

Review of JBL On Tour
Advantages: Small, good sound, good design. Disadvantages: Almost indestructable packaging.
...I can't believe no-one has reviewed this yet! I bought one for my wife as a Christmas present recently, and she loves it. I bought her an Ipod video Nano recently, so this was a logical accessory for use at home.
I paid £49 in Tesco (reduced from £79) in November 2007, and last time I looked, they were still £49. I bought a black one, it looks ok with the silver Ipod Nano, but of the pack of universal dock adapters, none matched with the Nano, so we had to use the white one that came with the Ipod (black JBL, white adapter, silver Ipod, never mind).
Sound quality is very good, and the sound is very clear for such a small unit. The remote only has 5 buttons, but this is enough to drive the neccessary functions of the Ipod. One thing that caught my wife out is the power switch, on the rear of the unit. When plugged in...

Review of JBL On Stage II
Advantages: Clean, crisp output, good bass response, durable and creative design, bang for the buck... Disadvantages: Hard to find...
...My experience with the JBL LX 8 model speakers has been quite exceptional not only exceeding in quality, but overall performance too. While this model speaker produced by JBL is no longer made there are many ways you can still be able to obtain the opportunity to get your anticipated hands on these speakers to give a whirl around the bush. I ordered mine through a friend, and paid $150 for a double-set of these speakers which now occupy the lower portion of my house in the family room.
A solid, and fair deal in my opinion for such an exceptional pair of speakers, made exclusively by JBL.
~~~~~ Sound Output ~~~~~~~
Simply crisp, and clear these speakers output excellent sound. Never on any occasion in the past have I heard these speakers crack or even show early signs of fuzziness, a definite plus in these speakers. Out of my...
