JBL CONTROL 1 REVIEW

Advantages: Excellent sound for an excellent price! Solid build, 100 watts RMS
Disadvantages: None for the price!

...I have owned 2 pairs of JBL Control 1 speakers and they have never let me down! The first pair I owned I gave to my dad as he liked the sound so much! These are bookshelf speakers and measure (H x W x D) 227 x 130 x 140 mm. They can be mounted on a stand, on a shelf or you can also order the wall brackets from jbl. For the size they have an excellent sound, warm solid bass with crisp mid and treble. They are 100 watts RMS and can really handle some power. The speaker is 2 way, comprising of a 4" bass woofer and a 1/2" titanium laminate dome tweeter. These speakers also feature a front mounted bass port. When you play the speakers loud its is astonishing the amount of air that is forced out of the bass ports! JBL 1xtreme

Advantages: Great sound, pro speakers
Disadvantages: A bit small

Review of JBL ON TIME

Great for installations!

Advantages: Price, Sound Quality, Quality Brand, Size.
Disadvantages: Harsh Mid Frequencies.

...I've just finished installing 2 pairs of these speakers with the JBL Control SB2 Sub Bass Speaker. The single cone Sub is designed to drive 2 pairs of top speakers in stereo. Having switched the system on for the first time today and got some music running through it I was primarily amazed at the projection of these little babies. They throw the sound really well and the overall sound I can describe in one word: Crisp! Without the Sub Bass unit these speakers extend down to 80hz which is a respectable figure for such a compact cabinet. I would imagine that, on their own these speakers would make ideal candidates for background music in bars, cafe's and restaurants. They would also make pretty tasty surround speakers in a Dolby setup and are a viable alternative for home hi-fi for those who want a more professional sound. Do not...

JBL Creature II

Advantages: Wonderful sound quality, Suprisingly low price, Amazing design
Disadvantages: None that I can see.

...Before I bought these speakers about a year ago, I had thoroughly searched the internet for any opinion, review, press release, and editorial on the Creature II and discovered that these were rather exceptional speakers. Yet I was still concerned that this was a product of design over quality - simply due to the shockingly small size of the satellite speakers (about the size of your fist), and that JBL were more concerned about desigining some speakers that would complement Apple Macs than impress the music listener. Even when I went to Tottenham Court Road to test out the Creature II, I was not quite convinced that the audio quality was up to scratch. This could have been due to the fact that it was very noisy in-store, with lots of people and the obligatory shop muzak playing - obviously no condition to seriously compare speaker...

Amaizing Value!!!

Advantages: Sound quality is great
Disadvantages: comes with no speaker wire!

...WOW! Never have I heard any speakers that sound so good... These are absoloutley amaizing.... The JBL control 1's are small but powerful speakers. These are ideal for the profesional or the home user. The sound reproduction is probably the best I have heard. Even running off a home stereo they sound good. So long as the amp does the output these speakers will sound just fine.... they act great as satalite speakers and ideal for partys because of their small size. They are stylish too. The small size with the black colour looks excelent, but they are also producde in white so there is a choice. Also the logo on the speaker front spins round so no matter which way up the speakers are the logo is always the same way too... Overall a good buy for the money....

Sixaxis controller

Advantages: Motion control, blutooth
Disadvantages: Feels light

...I have owned a playstation 3 for a number of years now with a sixaxis controller. The controller is extreamly suffisticated as well as all of the normal buttons which are used for conventional gameplay it also contains a gyroscope which monitors its position and movements in six axis, clever hey. The sxiaxis motion control offers a new way to play games and makes things more interesting and more challenging. For example when playing a racing game with a friend and we get a little bored we may play a game where we just use the motion control which makes it alot more challenging and adds alot of amusement. Some of the best games I have found to use with the sixaxis include Super Rub a Dub very entertaining no matter who you are. As time goes on the use of the motion control wil get better and better and will include better refinement...

...I have the white pair, and i'll start from where i started at choosing these, they look great don't they? the alloyish trim over the speaker and curvy body really is attractive. The volume is controled by a touch sensitive receptor on the right speaker, which doesn't ever stop working. Aside from the looks they also sound great the two small sattelites(speakers) give out superb high frequency sound, very clear, very crisp. Now to get that full rich sound you want it comes down to the subwoofer, which of the same design and looking great has two knobs which control bass, and treble for the whole system which is a handy and useful touch (not only decorative). The sub though does add the warm sound of bass to your music and it does this very well, the sound is not rattled, or distorted as you may find from many cheap subs. However where...

PS3 Sixaxis Controller

Advantages: Battery Life / Charge Times ; Nice Size
Disadvantages: Squeaking / Sticking

...I don't think there's that much that can be said about this specific product...it's a controller. However, I'll give an account of my experiences of this controller over the past two years. I got two of these sixaxis controllers free with my PS3 so was able to rotate between using one and charging the other, hopefully allowing me to prolong the usability of the contollers. Unfortunately, after about a year and a half ( and many hours of use, 200+ ) the left analogue stick on both controllers began to squeak and stick. I'm pretty sure the analogue bashing involved in Beijing Olympics contributed highly to this. The main disadvantages of this for me is when I'm playing Call of Duty and I'm hiding behind an object and without realising have begun slowly moving out into the open. JBL On Tour fails to deliver the goods.

Advantages: It plays music
Disadvantages: It has a massive range of serious flaws in design.

...The JBL on tour speakers are average, at the most. For their high cost, you wouldn't expect some of the severe design flaws present in it. The audio quality is relatively good considering it's size, and the maximum volume is very high, albeit containing sizable amounts of distortion on the higher volume settings. Of the desing flaws, there are many. Some are: Not including a "turn off/on" option, instead giving the user some not-so-obvious ways to do it. One being simultaneously pressing the Vol+ and Vol- buttons to turn it off. Also when it is turned on you have to hammer the Vol+ button to increase the volume to the desired amount. The 3.5mm-3.5mm cable idea. If you lose this cable, you're totally screwed. You have no place to store said cable anywhere when it's not in use because it's impossible to actually close the JBL...
