Classic, satirical Clarkson.

Advantages: A hilarious read. A large variety of subject matter, brilliantly used for humourous effect.
Disadvantages: Best read in short burts. Dry humour may wear thin after prolonged reads.

Classic Clarkson: Hilarious

Advantages: Very funny, huge variety of subject matter, lots of book for your money, informative, passionate
Disadvantages: Doesn't suit being read in one go, topics recycled and stale towards end

...Born To Be Riled is good. It's probably not Jeremy Clarkson's best book, but it certainly makes for great reading, either as a bedtime book, where the short columns are ideal for a quick spell, on the commute or on holiday. It will certainly make you laugh, and the variety is great. It's just missing that little something. The best, and in some cases worst, thing about Born To Be Riled is the fantastic scope of subject matter. Clarkson writes about anything and everything. This does help keep what I'm failry sure is his longest book, fresh and new, keeping you interested. At time though, pretty much everyone will come across a column on something they aren't really interested in, and while the variety is enormous, eventually they begin to repeat. Advantages: very funny book with some strong views
Disadvantages: a re-print of articles from the sunday times

...Having read his first book 'The World According to Clarkson' and being an avid watcher of top gear, I felt obliged to read the second edition of Jeremy Clarksons book. I found the first book really enjoyable to read and extremely funny in parts and this book is the same. I especially like the fact that because it is simply a culmination of his articles written in his sunday times column, that you can read a few and then put the book down until you feel like going back to it again. I found it a great book to take to work when you have a few spare minutes during you're lunchbreak or something. The only quite irritating aspect of the book is that he has chosen to write it in a style which could be direct speech. By this I mean that as you read you can almost imagine Clarkson just saying the words and after a while thats exactly what...

I was surprised, yet not disappointed. Inside I found an array of Short articles. Covering wide spread topics about many current affairs when they were published. The articles listed in this book were written for his column in the Sunday Times during the period of 7th January 2001 to 14th December 2003. These include topics such as his experience on a trip to Austria, music taste, the Concorde and personal experience of hunting foxes. Jeremy Clarkson Compares European & American Cars.

Advantages: If you like cars you'll love it
Disadvantages: Clarkson- If you're from the states

...I have not seen any of the other Clarkson DVDs so I can't compare them, if I do I may add a bit. What It's About This DVD is all about cars If you don't like cars then don't get this DVD, although if you like Jeremy Clarkson it can be quite a laugh. The DVD compares cars from Europe and the United States and the testing goes on in the States at a racetrack. The cars tested are from the States and are some of the best that the USA produces compared to some of Europe's cars in the mid-range. We are talking massive cars of immense power and good street cred although some of them are just good for show it seems. Not everybody buys a car for its capabilities so the way it looks and runs and its reputation comes into play quite a bit. .... If some of his more serious points were implemented then certain areas of the country would be better of for it. There are numerous laugh out loud moments in this book and I don't remember going more than 2 chapters without having to stop reading for a few minuted because of the laughter. There is a chapter in the book where he talks about the homeless, I honestly couldn't stop laughing. I read one of the first 2 volumes a while back when I was younger, but don't really remeber it and probably didn't understand quite alot about it. For that reason I will be going back and reading the first two volumes because this book was so good. This is a must read for fans of Jeremy Clarkson.
