Jersey, a spot in map
Advantages: very cool and exciting same time, beaches, people
Disadvantages: expensive, not recommended for non european
...acceptable in UK.
Specialities:
Jersey is famous worldwide for cows, dairy products, potatoes and knitted industry. Knitted T shirts named Jersey after this island. As per my point of view economy and finance system is also speciality here. As per stastics, Jersey economy is third highest in world which makes this place costly
Tourism:
Jersey is most famous as tourist place for short breaks. It is warm and hottest destination of UK (In month of July temperature reminds me Indian summer). There are lots of tourist attraction and if you want to see all you certainly need more than 10 days with enough cash in pocket. Jersey tourism have good offers time to time. So you can visit toursim official website www.jersey.com for current offers. Also it has good narration about each attraction activities.
It has stunning and beautiful...

JERSEY, A LOVELY SUNNY HOLIDAY AND PEACEFUL
Advantages: quiet, 40 miles per hour speed limit, glorious beaches
Disadvantages: could be too quiet if you stayed too many nights?
...Jersey is an island that I have always wanted to visit. I went there for 1 day over 10 years ago, when I holidayed in France, and have always vowed to go back again. This year I finally made it and stayed at a hotel in St Helier (Merton Hotel, reviewed separately).
Jersey can be reached by ferry or plane. We took the fast catamaran from Condor Ferries at Weymouth, sailing at 7am on Sunday morning, arriving at 10.30am, and sailed back at 2.30pm on the Friday.
GEOGRAPHY AND HISTORY
+++++++++++++++++++++++
Jersey is the largest of the four Channel Islands, the other largest ones being Guernsey, Herm, Sark and Alderney. Jersey is situated 100 miles from the south of mainland Britan and 14 miles from the coast of France. Its size is 9 miles by 5 and the island doubles in size when the tide goes out. Jersey is divided into 12...

MERTON HOTEL, ST SAVIOUR JERSEY
Advantages: lovely food, polite staff, great swimming pool
Disadvantages: no sea view, small television
...My husband and I have just spent 5 nights at the Merton Hotel in St Saviour in Jersey, Channel Islands.
We stayed from Sundary 2 September 2007 to Friday 7 September 2007 and we had a great stay.
The Merton Hotel is owned by Seymour Hotels and is a 3 star hotel. Jersey have their own system of rating hotels which is different to the UK, but the ratings are of a very high standard.
We stayed in a double ensuite room and we had free half board for the price of bed and breakfast.
We booked through Condor Ferries and took our own car and paid a total of £769 for the trip (£79 of which was for the car ferry travel).
OUR BEDROOM
+++++++++++++++
Our room was plainly and pleasantly decorated, with chrome light fittings everywhere. The furniture was ample, being a built in wardrobe, dressing table and chest of drawers...

A Rough Guide to Jersey for Young'Uns
Advantages: VAT free, great beaches and of course, Jim Bergerac,
Disadvantages: expensive to get to - book early folks
...Moooooooo!
Thats the sound of a cow, one of Jersey's most celebrated inhabitants. They are brown and make great milk. That aside, there is much to do on this fun-sized island (even David Gorman went there, see my other op!).
So what have I got in store for you on this, my 3rd review? Well, I'm going to give you a rough guide style (as there are no published rough guides on the Channel Islands)young persons guide to the island that put a smile on Bergerac's face, Jersey.
I find that most guide books on Jersey are aimed at our more matured friends, which is fine because they certainly love the island, but there are no guides for young adventurous soles like you, my dear reader. So first let me say well done for reading this review!
BACKGROUND
Jersey's population could fit inside Twickenham, its around 90,000. Apparently...

The Hinckley Island Hotel
Advantages: Great Service and made to feel special!
Disadvantages: Brasserie isn't the best
...The Hinckley Island Hotel is a great 4 Star Hotel. Easy to get to from the M6 or M69. Just get off J2 on the M69.
I've stayed there many times now and have samples the services there. The staff are all very polite and helpful. They all greet you in and around the hotel and are always willing to help.
The hotel is huge and luxurious. I've been lucky enough to have been upgraded from their Standard room's to their Suites twice in the 6 times i've visited the hotel.
The standard rooms are exactly that, standard. Certainly acceptable by most and can be booked most weekends for around £55 which is great!
The Suites are amazing! Made to be just like apartments they have a livingroom, bedroom and bathroom. Also the Suites have VIP packages inside so you get a fresh bowl of fruit and magazines, along with slippers and a robe...

**Teens in Jersey**
Advantages: Nice beaches, low crime rate and change from UK.
Disadvantages: Expensive and can be boring.
...** A Teens Guide to Jersey**
Welcome fellow teens. My name is Sophie, I am 13 and I live in Jersey.
I am going to tell you what Living With The Cows is REALLY like.
First off, to be blunt, Jersey is boring. There isn't much to do for anyone over 6 and under 16 and everything is expensive, and this is much worse in the winter. If the parental units are planning on a trip to the land of the spuds, suggest to them - no, PLEAD, - that they go in the summer. At least that way you have advantage of the gorgeous beaches.
Next, make sure you save your pocket money if you are planning on a spending spree. Contary to popular belief, just because we don't have VAT it doesn't mean that everything is cheap. In fact, from my personal expierence, it is much more expensive than mainland UK.
However, if your parents are nice there are a few...

Bargain shopping on a beautiful island
Advantages: Tax free shopping, better weather than England, You can use English money
Disadvantages: There own currency that you cant spend in England
...Jersey is a small island off the French coastline but dispite it's location is still part of the United Kingdom. It's perfect for a getaway from England without having to speak a different language.
*Getting There
As with all overseas places there are two ways to get there, by plane and boat. If you want to take your car to the island the only way to travel is by the condor ferries from either Weymouth, Poole or Portsmouth. You can also fly into the island from several of the UK's airports into the bright and clean Jersey airport. If you are taking your car beware that they have filter in junctions that we dont have in England. They do seem to keep the traffic moving freely though.
*Shopping
By far and away the best reason for going to Jersey is the shopping. As it is not in the EU all the things there are at duty and tax...

More to this island than potatoes
Advantages: easy to get to, no passports, tax free, pretty, friendly locals, nice hotels
Disadvantages: pricey to visit, pricey to shop
...I first went to this Island about 8 years ago. It was the last holiday I went on with my parents before getting married.
We flew to Jersey, it is a really nice flight and Jersey airport is so welcoming, small and friendly.
There is so much to do on this island for the whole family. Not much in the way of wild night clubs, but I believe there is a club of sorts somewhere near St Ouens.
We visited Gerald Durrell's Jersey Conservation Trust which was outstanding. Only the Cotswold Wildlife Park compares to this brilliant place. We saw the famous Gorilla - Jambo is it? Sadly he has since died.
There are pearl factories, brilliant herb garden to visit, parks and of course the shops. Jewellery, camera's, video's are particularly good value as Jersey is tax free.
It is odd when you hire a car and travel around, as some...

Real Classy Place, shame about the airport staff
Advantages: Real Beautiful Place
Disadvantages: Airport Security Staff - not all of course
.... The weather could not have been better though. I went end of June 09 and I was even sweating at one point! I had my evening dinner at St. Aubins in a small restaurant called the Bon Viveur Restaurant overlooking the sea and decided as I was in Jersey, I would have the Jersey Plaice. It was a very meal and the atmosphere was great.
After dinner I went for a drive around the very cute and charming island. The sun was shining and Glastonbury was playing on radio 1. I ended up taking some pictures at Le Hocq Tower, which I still have on my phone! After being charmed by the island I decided to retreat back to the Monterey Hotel, which was nicely furnished and had excellent facilities. Indoor and outdoor swimming pool and gym was a few to name.
Overall a good place but could have done without the hassle at the airport....

A lovely place to go
Advantages: lovely beaches and places to visit
Disadvantages: too many garden centres
...cream each and we used British money to pay for them. They were regular prices of what you would pay at any seaside resort. A little bit more expensive than a supermarket though. We stayed at The St Brelade's Bay Hotel
We stopped in a local garage and bought a local paper to see where we could visit during our weeks stay here. I expected them to be speaking a different language as my dad had said some speak French. I didn't hear any of the locals speaking French when I was there but loads of visitors were speaking German and French. You can tell who are the local people because they come round the lanes very quickly but the visitors like to drive slowly and have a good look round at the scenery.
There are loads of attractions on Jersey considering it is a small island only 45 miles square. I will just do three of the places I visited...
