...Me and my mum saw our doctor with a digital frame in her office and we thought that was such a clever device we just had to get one. Jessops photo developing

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Very poor quality prints

...In the past I have been happy with Jessops developing my films, but having recently had two films developed at the Cambridge branch I wont be going back again. Both films had a significant number of prints with white lines on one edge because the machine had either mis-cut or mis-printed them. On closer inspection I also noted that EVERY print had cropped a significant area (at least 10%) from around the edge of the photo (c.f. the negatives). On complaining the shop agreed to reprint the films for the white lines, but dismissed my other complaint ("oh yes we do crop film prints" - well thanks!!!) The sets of reprints were incomplete. Therefore they had to do the missing photos again. When they came back, some of them exhibited white lines again, exactly the same as the first time (contrary to the shop's excuse that something...

Review of Jessops

Jessops in-store digital photo printing

Advantages: good choice of photo sizes, good prices for next day printing
Disadvantages: no instant printing (at least one hour for most items)

...This review is specifically about the Doncaster and Sheffield branches of Jessops but should be attributable to any branch with in-store developing kiosks. My experience of the in-store developing from digital media is very good. The Jessops branches that I use have a bank of touch screen machines (kiosks) for you to develop your digital pictures. Each store has several such machines so you never have long to wait (if at all) to use one. The machines take a wide variety of memory cards from your digital camera or will accept pictures on CD. The machines will even allow you to develop pictures on more than one card in the same transaction. When you insert your card/CD the machine will scan it and display on screen each photo that is contained on it. You then just need to choose which ones you want printing, how many copies...

A Sony Digital Photo Frame Review

Advantages: Good if you have a lot of pictures on your computer.
Disadvantages: There is always something moving in the corner of your eye.

...I bought this digital photo frame for my eldest daughter as the sales assisstant in the shop said it is ideal for people with a lot of pictures and as she is leaving school soon she will have a lot of photos lying on the computer. This gift is ideal for people is their computer it full up with holiday pictures etc. It is a regular photo frame size, which is ideal. The picture quality is fantastic, however this depends on the quality of the camera you took the photo on in the first place. It is good that you can change the picture often by uploading new photos onto it (instructions make this very easy). You can choose which pictures you wish to view and how the transition of the photos occurs. The only down side is that if the photo is small then it doesn't stretch to the edges of the frame....

Pixelar digital frames 7" and 15"

Advantages: ease of use ,picture quality
Disadvantages: 7" couldnt wall hang...no slots

...i actually bought the 7" PWCL7 and PBCL15 FRAMES...little one for a friend as xmas present,and the big one for me..;-). The quality of the 7" one when i started it up with an sd card out of my camera was surprisingly good for a little frame.Worked straight from plugging in really...also linked to pc and could download from pc via usb lead provided.Could orient the frame in portrait and lansdcape...but would need to orient the pics too...did via the remote control.picture bright and colour good. The 15" one was lovely,with stunning picture quality..seems to have same software in it as 7"-handy as i bought two.This one can go on a wall using the screw recesses in back..and thoughtfully has a longer lead power supply for the wall hanging option... Overall i am a happy chappy... (**)...

Jessops photo CD made my scanner obsolete

Advantages: Five different sizes for each photograph
Disadvantages: Can't think of any

...I've just taken delivery of a CD containing my latest set of photographs, and although I've always liked Jessops, they've gone up even more in my estimation. What did I get exactly? Well, I took in two rolls of APS film, 25 exposures on each, and I handed over £11.99 per film and got back the usual negatives, prints and index prints, but also a CD containing both sets of photographs, each picture in five different sizes, large, medium, small, thumbnail and tiny - 250 graphics files in all. I was wary of trying this because a friend of mine had recently had a Kodak photo CD and was very disappointed that the photographs were in Kodak's proprietary graphic file format, requiring the download of special drivers from the Microsoft website before he could use them in MS software, and even then, he still couldn't get them into...

Advantages: nice looking,ease of use,multifunctional,excellent picture quality-with music at same time

...I bought this pwcl7 white digital photo frame from the pixelar website, It came quickly-2 dys - and was well packaged, I have bought a 5.6" one and another 7" elsewhere over last 18 months but i have to say i was impressed by the quaolity and functions available on this one.the picture quality was very good and it was very easy to use, with good brightness and contrast range.The remote also had a mode function which enabled you to change from 16:9 to 4:3 ratio,,handy as most of my pictures are 4:3. it wasnt the cheapest..like my other 7" i bought,but it certainly was a goodd money buy. downsides.well i really wanted a black one but i found that this fits just about anywhere,currently on my office desk.Only criticism if i am being fair is that you cant wall hang it,but it may llook a bit daf that small on a wall. Remote easy to use...

SONY - THE NAME FOR FRAME ACCLAIM

Advantages: Crisp images, easy to use, looks lovely, large screen
Disadvantages: No USB Cable supplied - so no way of getting photographs onto the frame without buying one

...My Mum, bless her, can?t get her head around viewing photographs on a computer monitor, she is of the generation that like their pictures in albums or in a frame, to be enjoyed at her leisure, preferably in a comfy chair, and without the need for constant mouse clicking. Between the family members with digital cameras we have a fair number of digital photographs, numbering into the thousands in fact, but not having a limitless supply of ink and photo paper printing them off would be immensely costly, as well as time consuming. Clearly something had to be done to open up these many photographs to Mum, which is how I found myself toying with the idea of a digital photo frame for Mothers Day. The brief was to find one that was simple to operate, aesthetically pleasing and with enough storage to hold as many photographs as we could throw...

...JESSOPS, like many retailers and high street based ones in particular, have been experiencing a particularly tough time in busines recently and yet, in 'my' local branch, MAIDSTONE in kent, they have always been very polite and extremely helpful. I wouldn't say that I am a regular customer. They certainly don't 'know' me and therefore do not give me any sort of 'preferential' treatment. However, whenever I do shop there, they seem to be very helpful and assist as much as is humanly possible in providing me with a good, fast, reliable and polite service with very good value for money. I was browsing Play.com the other night (I know huge mistake) and decided that it would be rather good to order a few unnecessary but luxurious gifts with my larger than normal pay packet. The Philips frame seemed like a good buy at the time, it still is although my bank balance does not agree. APPEARANCE --------------------- The frame is very stylish and it does look like a 'normal' picture frame. It looks very good on a shelf and to the 'untrained' eye would look like any normal frame. In fact my Kodak frame looks quite artificial but this looks like a very normal, bog standard but stylish frame.
