A Vote for Jim is a vote for a good old laugh!

...This is a party political broadcast on behalf of the Purple Party; the leader of the party is Jim Davidson. I know I am going to get some stick for this but what if Jim Davidson was Prime Minister? For one thing he would not be walked over like some of them are (I'm not mentioning any names) and he would not take any crap, why because he knows where his nuts are! If you did not like that then I apologise but it is going to get worse. Oh I do like to be beside the seaside.....

...Background I am not going to go into the background on Jim Davidson because that is in another review. However, this DVD was made during Jim's time as the owner of the Wellington Pier in Great Yarmouth. Basically the pier had not been used in many years due to another pier being further up the beach, the Britannia Pier where the main beach is. The council decided that they wanted to re-open it but did not have the money so they agreed to give Jim Davidson the lease for 6 years; I think it was around 1995. Funnily enough the Wellington Pier does not reach the sea, only sand, they must have run out of wood! The Show When you play the show, it opens with the theme song "Oh I do like to be beside the seaside" and there are some views of the Wellington Pier, beach, amusements and horses and carriages...

...I know some of you may have read previous reviews of mine about Jim Davidson so yes I am a fan. I may only be 25 years old but I can remember watching him, even at a young age. Does anyone remember that he had a stand up show on ITV? Well I do and I can always remember my Mum crying with laughter and now my Mum is not around anyone and I now cry with laughter. Introduction This was filmed in Edinburgh to celebrate 25 years in show business back in 2002. Background information on Jim Davidson can be found on another review so I will not bore you with it again. The DVD is certificated 18 and the show runs for approximately 1 hour and 13 minutes. ARGGHHH !! Jim Davidson !! ARGGHHH !!

Advantages: Used to be interesting & entertaining
Disadvantages: Now it is dull & stale, with irritating presenters

...Big Break is a good idea - three contestants are paired up with famous snooker players. The contestants answer the questions, the snooker players - guess what ?! - play snooker shots & the one with the most points goes through to the next round. Once again, the final consists of the contestant answering trivial questions, while the snooker player tries to pot various balls for points. It is sometimes entertaining, but these days it seems to have out lived its welcome & appears dated. Jim Davidson is one of the most annoying men on TV & I just don't find him funny. John Virgo as his sidekick used to be amusing, but the repartee between the two of them has become dull & predictable. It was a good concept, but I think it is now time to retire the show & replace it with something fresh & original....

Gentlemen Jim as he was affectionately known was probably one of the greatest racing drivers of his time. A time when motor racing was all about participating & winning, not the money & glamour obsessed sport it has now become where sponsorship deals are more important than anything else. He was born in Kilmany in Fife on the 4th March 1936, when he was four years old he moved with his parents to a farm in Duns in North Berwickshire. Just after his 17th birthday his career as a motor racing driver started racing a Sunbeam Talbot Mk3 Saloon after joining the Berwick & District Motor Club. Harley Davidson Boutique.

Advantages: Location and pose factor.
Disadvantages: Inflated prices.

...This store has since closed down and the items it stocked can now be purchased from Warrs Harley Davidson as they owned and ran this venture. They have two branches, one at Mottingham Road south of the river thames and the other branch at the far end of the Kings Road at their motorcycle dealership. This was a store in the heart of Chelseas KIngs Road and was more a boutique than a motorbike clothing shop. It had both clothes, shoes/boots and accessories in stock. It fitted in with the clientele of Chelsea as they liked the Harley image without having to own the bike. I am a life member of HOG (Harley Owners Group) and I shopped there occasionally but prefered the atmosphere of the dealership further down the Kings Road. The prices in the boutique are slightly more inflated than the regular dealership prices would be....
