...Want a good budget DVD player? Maybe you want to buy your first player just to make sure your going to get some use out of it, or maybe your just not sure about entering the DVD market right at the moment. Well, I’ve got just the right DVD player for you.
JMB DVD players can be found at Littlewoods Extra (www.littlewoodsextra.com) at £139.99. They can probably be found elsewhere, but this is the only place I have seen them. So, your thinking to yourself ‘well I’ve never heard of JMB before, are they any good?’ and that’s just what I thought. Well, basically, they are at the lower end of the electronics market along with the likes of Daewoo, Alba and Mitsumi. These companies all sell quality products, but just don’t concentrate too much on the looks of the product, or packaging and so forth...

Review of JMB DVD-3000
Advantages: Cheap, easy set-up Disadvantages: No VCD playback, won't play any form of recordable media, some jerky playback on certain DVDs
...I decided to buy a DVD player because dargging the sofa across the room so that it was in front of my PC was becoming a bit of a pain. After scouting around, buying a few magazines and because of the other op on this player, I decided to buy the JMB DVD-3000, although the choice was limited, admittedly, because I bought it through Littlewoods Extra.
JMB seems to be a company that manufacture and sell products for the lower end of the market (I also have a fridge and freezer), but so far I have had no problems with anything from the company.
The DVD player was an absolute breeze to set up. You have the option of using scart or composite connections for the video signal. I had to use composite because my TV doesn't have a scart socket. At first I tried connecting through the scart on my OnDigital box but this caused interference...

Review of JMB DVD-3000
Advantages: Cheap, Stainless, Does the business, still going strong after 4.5 years Disadvantages: Hasn't got a big name, if that's important to you
...requirement 1. Thereafter the styling differences and prices were my only other considerations.
Popping into town on BH Monday saw me checking out the metal/plastic in person before I settled on the JMB (yes, I'm getting nearer to an opinion soon). I'd not heard of that name before and was dubious. However, in Littlewoods Index shop the flash SALE sign caught my eye, as these things tend to, so I checked the JMB number out in the metal.
Yes, SS, retro, big slots and cheap. I'll take one. £17.99 reduced from £21.99 (they are now £18.99). The cheapest SS model around by far. Would it be cheap and nasty in the kitchen?
After an extensive trial lasting over a intensive 3 days (yeah, right) I'm very happy with the slightly impulsive bargain buy.
It has (TL1000):
-Variable browning control.
-Extra-long variable width slots, that...

Review of JMB TL1000
Advantages: It looks nice Disadvantages: Where do I start
...J.M.B C2005 is a cylinder vacuum cleaner, is looks a bit like the Dyson but it is a lot cheaper. I was having a bad day my back was hurting and I was fed up with struggling with my old vacuum, the suction was poor, the end was held together with tape and the on/off switch didn’t work.
I decided that it was time to part with my old vacuum and invest in another one. I had a look through a LittleWoods catalogue to see how much a Dyson vacuum would be, they were a little out of our price range as my partner had already said that I could only have £150.00 to spend on a new vacuum. I came across J.M.B C2005 is it looked great. It was £119.99; it was metallic purple with a clear part in the middle like the Dyson so you could see all of the dirt that was being sucked up. It was a bag less vacuum so I didn’t have to spend any extra...

Review of JMB C2005
Advantages: minimum time and minimum effort Disadvantages: You will need good ventilation. The intensity of the steam causes condensation
...I don't know about you, but I hate ironing...in fact I absolutely, positively detest it! It's such a common occurance to stare in dread at the ever growing mound of clothes, bed linen and other crumpled garments that patiently await the ironing board shouting "Iron me! Iron me!". What do I do? Well...I put it off until i've nothing else to wear. So on the whole, it is only out of desperation that my iron ever sees the light of day.
That was until I bought the JMB Steam Generator. Now Iron day blues really are a thing of the past and quite literally I can steam through the ironing. So much so that dare I even say, "I quite enjoy it"?
Here's why...
The intensity of the steam means that struggling to iron out creases in clothes and bed linen is a thing of the past and its powerful action allows you to iron 4 layers at once, which...

Review of JMB BIR300
Advantages: Price and light-weight Disadvantages: no grass box
....
My favourite has to be the Hover and my first one ever was the famous Flymo, which were all the rage when they first came out. After many years it did pack up so I had to look for another, as I was a bit short for cash at the time I choose the JMB hover mower, which I purchased for around £32 as far as I can remember from my local Index store. They have gone up only by a few pounds since I bought mine.
Description:
It’s a dark green colour and is shaped like a helmet, no rude comments please, .Lol.
It comes complete; the only thing that needs to be done is to fix the handle to the base, which is very simple to do. It has triple blades for quicker cutting and spare blades are supplied with it. Their two cutting heights to choose from and it gives only a 28cm cut, which is relatively small. It runs off the mains electric...
Advantages: Very cheap & very powerful Disadvantages: Rather heavy
...I just had to write and tell you how pleased I am with my bagless cylinder vac that I recently bought in Index for the bargain price of £70!!
Our old vac which was a dyson original had finally given up the ghost after about 5 years.
Money was tight having just moved house, we would have loved to have bought a new dyson but coulnt stretch to the £150 + price tag. We looked around and found similar models but the next cheapest an electrolux was £100.
So we decided to take a chance with the JMB. I couldnt wait to use it we had had carpets laid two weeks prior and there was a lot of fluff!
The instructions werent the best I've seen, as if they'd been photocopied 20times, but it was pretty easy to guess where the pices went.
On switching it on I found it a bit noisier than the old vac but then again it is more powerful. It also had...

Review of JMB C2005
...Background
~~~~~~~~~
A few months ago I bought my own house, which also meant I had to cut the grass. For the first time ever I had to go and buy a lawn mower. We always have a couple of Argos and Index catalogues knocking round, so I decided to look through them for an idea of prices. Boy do they vary in prices too. They start at around £30 and go up into the £100’s. The way I look at it is; I’m not a big fan of gardening and didn’t want to spend hundreds of pounds on something I was going to use maybe once a week for half the year. With this in mind I settled on the JMB Hover Mower (model GHM-1200-GR). I purchased the hover mower from our local index store for around £35.
The mower comes packaged in one box but in two pieces, you will have to attach the handle to the main unit. This is done with a rather large...
Advantages: Seemingly a very good Deal Disadvantages: takes a while for them to deliver
...Hi everyone, I am not writing this as a balanced argument more of a statment of fact, and comparison, I noticed one or two adverse comments about Littlewoods on the Ciao, and like most folk I could probably find something negative to say, afterall they are like most other catalogue companies, expensive, but offering a service....however as a point of interest I thought that I would highlight a bit of a discrepency between the Catalogue and their website...
I have been an account holder of Littlewoods for about 18 months, I have bought one or two items from them and a major purchase ( a cooker), I was looking in their new catalogue yesterday ( Friday 20th July) and noticed a JMB Widescreen TV on offer for about £370 plus £40 for the stand...
I don't watch too much TV, but have been buying quite a few DVD's ( particularly the classic...
Review of Littlewoods
...Is it always better to buy cheaper items as I wonder if it is worth it. The reason I am writing this is because of how disapointed I was with a product I purchased last year.
I bought my husband a 3- piece corded starter power tool set made by (JMB),last year for his birthday. I purchased the set from the index / Littlewoods store in my high street. The set consists of a 500-watt hammer drill, 350-watt jigsaw and a 135-watt sander and it only cost £39.99 for the lot. I was really pleased at the price. They came packed in a dark green carrying case and looked very expensive. JMB actually do a wide range of tools and other household equipment, which is very reasonable priced.
Well my husband was very pleased with his present, although it meant that he would have to get on and do things around the house as he had no excuse. He...
