JMB DVD3000 A great budget player

Advantages: Cheap and works well
Disadvantages: Dosent have some extra features

...Want a good budget DVD player? Maybe you want to buy your first player just to make sure your going to get some use out of it, or maybe your just not sure about entering the DVD market right at the moment. Well, I’ve got just the right DVD player for you. JMB DVD players can be found at Littlewoods Extra (www.littlewoodsextra.com) at £139.99. They can probably be found elsewhere, but this is the only place I have seen them. So, your thinking to yourself ‘well I’ve never heard of JMB before, are they any good?’ and that’s just what I thought. Well, basically, they are at the lower end of the electronics market along with the likes of Daewoo, Alba and Mitsumi. These companies all sell quality products, but just don’t concentrate too much on the looks of the product, or packaging and so forth...

The Queen on .tv!

Advantages: layout, design, information, photos
Disadvantages: /

...I would say there are six websites that I could not live without. I would not say that it is a mixed bag of sites - it is either money making related or media related. One of these media related websites is the official website of my greatest inspiration in life. She is such a wonderful person, and a perfect role model. Who is this woman? Of course, it's Andrea McLean! If you for some reason do not know who Andrea McLean is, then I am a tiny bit offended! She was a long running weather girl for GMTV, only to give up that post a few months back. She is now the main anchor of ITV daytime chat show phenomenon Loose Women, a job I would kill for. She is one of the most amazing TV Presenters around, and has such a wonderful personality. The day I met her was one of the most amazing days of my life, a moment I will treasure forever. She...

TV Quick

Advantages: *
Disadvantages: *

...I still live with my parents and this is the TV magazine that they buy. I don't see the point in buying another TV magazine just for me. I read this magazine more than I actually watch the television. Due to exams, drama, sign language and ciao I don't watch very much television. However, every now and then I do sit down and watch an episode of Eastenders or Coronation Street, with my mam. I don't need to watch every episode to know what is going on. Apart from the fact that usually nothing much is happening, I can read the TV quick to catch up. TV Quick come out weekly and costs 70p. We get it delivered from our local newsagents with our newspaper. We usually get it on the Tuesday, before the TV listings in the magazine starts. I say magazine because it is more than just a TV listing. To write this review I'm looking at a copy...

A TV Show, about TV shows

Advantages: Good debates, Interesting topics
Disadvantages: Only once a month

...'The TV show', is in a sense Channel 4's answer to 'Points of View'. It's on monthly, on channel4 and addresses viewers opinions regarding what has been on television that month, and any complaints that have derived from viewing. It is presented by Channel4 news presenter, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, and the show is handled in more of chat show debate forum (Trisha style) rather than reading out letters a la Terry Wogan on POV. They often invite producers (or other relevant people) of whichever shows have created controversy that month. For example, this month they had one of the executive producers of Big Brother, plus a psychologist debating whether or not the show has run it's course, whether or not they were taking away the rights of the viewer by removing housemates before they had chance to vote people off, and whether or not it...

Pricedrop.tv

Advantages: Can find some good bargains
Disadvantages: Long wait for delivery

...Introduction Pricedrop.tv is an interactive auction channel allowing you to bid by phone and Internet. You can also watch the live auctions on Sky Digital, Freeview and cable networks. It is a sister channel of bidup.tv that has been established for a longer duration. How does it work? When an auction begins the auctioneer introduces the ?lot? that people will be bidding on and tells you some brief information about it. On screen viewers are given several pieces of information. This includes: the guide price (the manufacturers recommended retail price, or the average of two prices gained elsewhere), quantity left in the lot, the current price drop value (the price you would pay if the auction ended at that time), banners along the bottom informing viewers about the product and the names of people who have placed...

My TV Guide Of Choice.

Advantages: only 30p - not anymore it's now 33p
Disadvantages: not all digital channels listed

...First of all I will state that there are no plot spoilers included in this review although there may be mention of new series starting in the week that I am reviewing this magazine for. I promise not to give anything away though and if I do you have my permission to slap my bottom. Hang on though I may enjoy that!!! Back to the review. I don't really buy many newspapers - it's not that I don't keep up to date with the news - I just prefer to watch it on TV or look online to find out what is going on in the world. I also pop in to see my mum every day as her house is close to the school where my daughter's attend and it beats trying to find a space outside the gates, as well as getting the chance for a cuppa and a gossip. She buys a local newspaper so I'm able to have a quick look at that to find anything going on in the area...

A TV TV!

Advantages: Portable(ish), cheap, good value
Disadvantages: Needs an external aerial, viewing software is buggy

... The Unit - Overview & Appearance Built by probably the best known PC TV tuner producer, the Hauppauge WinTV USB is essentially a glasses-case sized box of magic which allows you to transform your PC or laptop into a TV.. Executed in translucent turquoise plastic, the unit features a 2 foot long USB lead at one end for connection to your computer and a standard coaxial port for connection to an external aerial at the other. On the side of the box are three further ports; two 3.5mm audio jacks for connecting external audio sources and an S-Video port for connecting a video recorder or DVD player or the like. There is also the mandatory red LED to indicate power set into the plastic on the upper face of the unit. Also included in the box is a CD with the WinTV...

Quick TV and Gossip

Advantages: packed full of gossip and a tv guide
Disadvantages: the price could be lower

...TV Quick There's so many TV guides to choose from now that picking one is hard. Although, I do go for the free one in the papers I always love going to my grans and reading the TV Quick. It's a great TV mag but also a good long read too. What is TV Quick? It's a TV magazine with a difference. It's got the normal TV guide that every TV mag has but then there's the extras like all the celeb gossip and interview with soap and tv celebs. The price 65p which is quite a lot for TV mag but it's not just a TV mag. It's a mini version of Heat so I think the price is quite reasonable. FRONT COVER There's the usual TV QUICK red and white logo. Normally on the front cover of the TV Quick, there's a soap star that's going to be in a main storyline that week. For example, Sally's sexy secret. Underneath the face of the soap star...

www.liverpoolfc.tv

Advantages: Upto date news, easy navagtion.
Disadvantages: none.

...As i visit liverpoolfc.tv every day, i thought i would write my views on it. Being a Liverpool fan i will try my best not to be biased. I first registered to the website, when it first aired on the net so have been a member for a long time. The first thing you see is a full screen advert for a product they are trying to sell or special offers for products. You get a choice of either entering the website or going straight to the offer. Once your on the homepage, you are greeted with easy on the eye colour of red and white, i have visited many other Liverpool sites that don't blend the coulors in nicely. They always have the main story on the top left, with a nice big picture, normally it is the latest news or an interview with a current player or maybe a player from the past. So its always keeping me up to date on everything. Even...

TV ...or not TV...? That is the Question !

Advantages: Reasonable value for money
Disadvantages: Compulsory, and terrifying if you can't afford it !

...TV or not TV?? That is the question .Wether it is nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows, of the tv licensing spies, for not having a licence...or just cough up and be done with it ! I received a reminder today informing me that my TV licence was due, which prompted me to puzzle the positive pros and cons of this seemingly antiquated licensing system, which is after all an unfair tax on the British public, The 2006/2007 colour TV licence costs £10.96 per month - about 36p per day for each household. It is free if you are over 75, half-price if you are registered blind. They must have worked out that half the enjoyment comes from the pictures and half the pleasure comes from the sound ? The annual cost (set by the Government) is currently £131.50. A black and white TV licence is £44. THERE IS NO RADIO LICENSE...
