CD Cleaner - whats wrong with water ?

Advantages: small and compact, cheap

...While the worlds number one CD repair tool was a flop and a generic brand repair tool was a success, I thought I?d try a CD cleaner as a CD repairer. I will be reviewing the cleaner and also adding some extra uses I got out of it. ~ The kit ~ The JML CD cleaner is exactly what it says, it is a CD cleaner only and does a very good job too. In the kit you get the cleaner tool, looks like walkman and you put CD label down as the cleaning pads are on the lid and you get cleaning fluid. ~ How it works ~ Very basic, spray CD, place inside with label down, close lid and turn handle for a few seconds to clean disc. It works pretty well but it seems no different to running your CD under water and wiping with dry cloth. I suppose it will work well for CD's with paper labels that water may smudge or destroy. ~ Cost...

...The idea is that by swirling water around (or something more scientific but swirling is what it looks like), particles will be filtered out of the air and deposited in the water bowl leaving you with cleaner, fresher air. It claims to remove pet odours, harmful bacteria and neutralise other odours. The unit comes in three parts - the base with light & power switch, the water globe and the lid. There is a vent on the lid of the globe from which the air (and I assume the water particles) are emitted. Cost £40 plus £5 postage direct from JML, available in two colours Use It's very easy to use - you fill the bowl to the recommended level, put the lid on, plug it into the mains and switch it on. ...I had been planning to buy a JML Halogen cooker for some time due to the praise given by my daughter, but when our microwave packed in it had to be a new one or opt for the JML Halogen, as we only use the M/W for de-frosting and warming up a cup of milk occasionally, I bought the JML. Our cooker duly arrived in less than a week, and was promptly sent back the same day, the fan did not work, however a replacement arrived in a few short days, (brilliant service) I do most of the cooking in our home, ( YES I AM A MAN) and my first attempt was to cook truffle buns which came out beautifully, then roast potatoes, fantastic, then I tried a fruit cake from a conventional cook book at 200 deg. c , I had to take the cake out after 36 minutes the top was as brown as I dare let it, it was awful, WRONG TEMPERATURE, if I had looked at the too small...

JML storage bag (jumbo)

Advantages: simple and fast to use, increases your storage space by a lot
Disadvantages: pricey depending where you buy from

...the bag might re-inflate later if I didn't. You then insert the nozzle of your vacuum cleaner into the special one way valve so that the air gets sucked out and the contents and bag get compressed. This only takes a few seconds, and is quite fun to watch! You end up with a tight, heavy-ish slab. I managed to fit a double and single duvet plus some clothes and cushions in one bag, and in the other, 2 double duvets and some pillow covers. This was great as I could then fit them under my bed, or stack them in the cupboard instead of using bulky, lumpy bags which waste a lot of space. In contrast, these could be stacked in lots of different ways and also pushed into corners because they were so compressed. JML claim that the bags protect against damp, dust, dirt and bugs. The bags are apparently re-usable and recyclable, but I haven't needed to...
