Davy Crockett ranch - Disney

...I went to Disneyland last week with my family and stayed there for 3 nights at the Davy Crockett Ranch. I have now visited Disneyland Paris 6 times and have also been to Disney world in Orlando as well last year. However I have stayed at the Disney hotel and a few of the others but I have to say that Davy Crockett ranch has to be one of the best ones there and certainly my favourite as it has so many great features and offers much more as well as being more free. The Accommodation: When you stay there you will be put in a small wooden cabin in a particular area which are all named such as Tomahawk or Bobcat. Each small 'camp' includes about 50 to 100 cabins all with separate parking spaces and outdoor bins. Inside you have a choice of either a one or two bedroom hut and all of them can sleep up to 6 people, with a double bed...

John the Entertaining

Advantages: Very emotional writing
Disadvantages: Quite slow paced

Judging from the several mentions of the song in the story and given that author Peter Murphy works in the music press, I suspect that's where the title of this novel came from as well. How much I enjoy the song depends on which version of it I hear, but with no such concerns with the book, I was able to enjoy it fully without worrying if someone had done a better version elsewhere that I was missing out on. John Devine is a teenager stuck in a small Irish town with a single mother, no real friends and a rather worrying fascination for bodily parasites, mostly intestinal worms. Steve Davies rules the Eighties

...Steve Davies - 6 times world champion and absolute snooker king of the 80s! He can't play anymore, but boy can he commentate! I used to enjoy watching Davies in the 80s when I was a young lad, my father being a keen watcher of snooker. There is no doubt that Davies was the king of modern snooker then, when the sport was just becoming accepted as a television sport. Lots of women apparently used to find him extremely attractive - with his tall thin demeanour, and the way he used to slide his cue back and forth between the dimple in his chin. Whatever turns them on! The attraction of Davies was clearly that he was the young kid on the block in the 80s, and he took on what was largely a group of older established men who played slowly and drank lots of beer. Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. ...My partner and I stayed at the Davis Bangkok last year whilst on our gap year, and it was the most memorable hotel that we visited. Slightly out of town, and reasonably dear (£45 pere night) located in the quieter Sukhumvit area, we felt that it was a good base to rest in before entering the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, via the skytrain. Our room was in the annex that is a one minute walk from the main hotel, this section being more recently built. The hotel prides iself on being a 'boutique' hotel with ultimate care taken over interior design, which showed throughout. The room was decorated in a contemporary style and though the view wasn't spectacular, the room made up for it. The bathroom was large and had marble floors, with a bath and seperate shower.
