Advantages: Very emotional writing

Judging from the several mentions of the song in the story and given that author Peter Murphy works in the music press, I suspect that's where the title of this novel came from as well. How much I enjoy the song depends on which version of it I hear, but with no such concerns with the book, I was able to enjoy it fully without worrying if someone had done a better version elsewhere that I was missing out on. Wow Good...man!

...In my home I have my main stereo downstairs. The trouble is, I often like listening to music at night before I go to bed. I did have a (really old) personal cd player, but I was sick of replacing the batteries. I went into Argos and spotted the Goodmans GPS222 on display, so I bought one. ~Design~ The Goodmans GPS222 is 13 inches long, 9 inches deep (at it's widest) and 6 inches tall. It weighs around 4lbs - not very heavy - but it might feel quite weighty if you were carrying it around for a while. Roseanne Series 1 - still as good as I remembered! 'John Goodman'

Advantages: Funny ,easy to watch some good one liners ,up there with the BEST Sitcoms
Disadvantages: None I can think of

...as Roseanne sometimes feels like she doesn't get to clock off after a shift at work unlike DAN who seems to be able to . The kids really do argue alot, a lot of the humour in this sitcom is very cutting and sarcastic(and not just from the adults) and at times its not quite as funny as the canned laughter would lead you to believe but almost all times I find myself laughing out loud to it. Each episode is only abiut 20-25 minutes long ,so the story lines are straight to the point ,beginning ,middle and end! Watching this back and seeing as it came out in the 80's I would have expected it to be a little out of date but I think its as good today as ever and I had absolutely no problem watching the episodes back to back just as I would watch my other favourite sitcom 'FRIENDS' back to back . Goodmans gracious me!! (UPDATE -PANTS!!)

Advantages: Good price, attractive system, good sound
Disadvantages: Doesn't last 12 months!

...We treated our youngest to a new CD/radio for her birthday. Her old Sanyo one had broken ? the CD just died after 13 months! So we had a good look around and not wanting to spend a fortune we went for the Goodmans 1002 micro system from Argos. It cost us £64.99, not a bad price I feel. Now available for £59.99!! The unit its-self is very attractive, being primarily silver in colour. The main unit is 16cm x 17cm and 26cm deep with the speakers 22cm x 14cm x 19cm. The speakers are a pale wood colour with silver covers for the front, which can be removed if you wish and are both 12.5w. It now sits quite unobtrusively at the back of her little desk and seems to take up very little space. This micro system, however, is only a CD/radio, IT DOES NOT HAVE A TAPE DECK. We took the decision that really cassettes are a bit old hat now...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. ...quality of sound to the TV I bought recently. The sound does not dip, or loose sound at any time. I am very pleased with the way it is run with sound. The picture is great. It is not High Definition, and it is still very nice quality. the size of the screen is not huge, but is still good to see what is happening on the TV. I have had no problems with either the sound or the picture on the TV, which makes such a difference to my other TV. I have Virgin Media in my bedroom. I find that the service works very well with my TV. The picture quality remains the same greatness. I have played DVDs on this, and I have found that the quality is just as good, if not better on this screen. I have played PS2 games on this, and have found it is compatable with the TV, which I did expect, but is still good picture. I would definatly recommend this...

I stripped out the guts, built some new speaker cabs (using the doors off my wardrobe, I under estimated how angry my mum could get) and a ?receiver? (using an old valve amp and tuner, rewired into a new case) which sounded great. I rigged up a multi input interface (switch) to play other things through the system, like the tape deck I wanted for Christmas. I was however stuck with a crappy record deck until my cousin turned up with his old Goodman?s. This was brilliant, it had a moving magnet cartridge made by ?Audio Technica?
