Liverpool John Moores University - GREAT PLACE
Advantages: Great social life, friendly and very helpful
Disadvantages: University Campus can be quite far apart.
...I graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2005 where I did my degree, I loved it that much I went back to do a professional post-graduate course and will finish this in June of this year. Although I will be extremly pleased to be finishing my education I will sadly miss the university. they have great opportunites for students. They advertise all there events etc within the campus' and libraries, they also advertise in the students union and send out regular emails letting everyone now what events are happening and where and when they will take place.
The university itself has alot of campus centres which is not so great as they are scattered around the town in various locations with some not being so easy to get to. Yes they do provide transport to and from the centres on a regular day to day basis.
The students union...

Lverpool John Moores University
Advantages: Great, friendly city, good nightlife etc
Disadvantages: University's policy on not using equipment from other departments
...Having attended the finest of 3 universities in Liverpool, I should be an expert on telling you why LJMU is the best Uni... I did argue that point many times during my three years their.
The truth, however, is I am not sure I can say LJMU is the best... it certainly is fine, but as I am not a serial student, I can't compare the university with any others...
But this is my view of Liverpool John Moores University.
I studied Broadcast Engineering, graduating in 2000 with a 2/2 - the best kind of degree to get! The first thing that struck me was how different the course was to the open day example. We were shown around all the flash equipment, and even had a friendly - mock lecture... which I enjoyed.
However, when I actually started at Uni, it was time to get my head down - and that was made clear by the lecturers. We didn't see...

Gimmee Moore
Advantages: Some really poignant songs
Disadvantages: None really
...Christy Moore - Ride On. 1984.
I have long been a fan of Irish music, and a fan of protest songs, from John Lennon to The Clash, so it is fair to say that I have a fair collection of Irish protest music, some of which has a distinctly anti-British feel.
Before anyone slates me for writing a review of well known IRA sympathisers' songs, many of which are very supportive of the IRA cause, let me say this.
Like it or not, there has been a conflict between the British and Irish for hundreds of years, and the troubles of the 70's and 80's were not new. It was inevitable that songs would be written, and inevitable that whoever wrote them would have a subjective slant.
This album is not just about the IRA by the way, it also chronicles other 'struggles' such as the Spanish Civil War and the El Salvador conflicts.
Moore himself...

Give me Moore, any day!
Advantages: attractive, plot, characters
Disadvantages: /
...The latest book to head my way is none other than 'RSPV', written by author Tara Moore. Now when I first saw the book I had no idea what it was going to be like. I had never heard of Tara Moore before so her style was going to be completely new to me. However, the cover of the book itself is incredibly attractive. All we see is the neck and lower face of a woman, with a large glittering necklace around her neck. Now for ages I thought this read 'RSUP', and it wasn't until I went to find out more about the author before reading did I realise that this necklace actually read 'RSVP'. With that embarrassment out of the way, I was truly looking forward to reading.
The book tells the story of fiancées Rossa Granville and Ashling Morrison. Happily in love and planning their wedding, a problem arises almost instantly. First of all, Rossa...

FREE DVDs
Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review
...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them.
∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊
Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

Moorings
Advantages: Local. Large old house but modern. Charismatic.
Disadvantages: You are best having a car with you.
...The Moorings Hotel has been a fixture in Motherwell since I was very young, and generations have always enjoyed staying, eating and partying there.
The main house was custom built in 1891 for Archibald Colville, the son of one of Scotland's foremost steel dynasties, and have sympathetically upgraded and extended to provide all the comfort and style one would expect from a three star Hotel. Most recent addition is the new bar and lounge area a few years ago - and at this exact moment builders are on site adding decking for a 'beer garden'.
Three star accommodation which now has 31 bedrooms - each have en-suite facilities (with bath and shower), plus hairdryer, trouser press, remote control television with satellite, direct dial telephone, data port point and tea and coffee making facilities.
Food in the hotel is very well...

Ahhhhhhh it’s a year or two since I was last on Ilkley moor baht at or with my hat either (baht at means with out hat ). Many a time it is that I have wandered Ilkley moor though.
Ilkley moor is part of Rombalds moor which is between Ilkley and Kieghley in west Yorkshire.
I first visited Ilkley moor over 30 years ago when I was 18. I visited my boyfriend at Bradford university and with a group of friends we visited and walked Ilkley moor, while we lived in Bradford we often walked on these moors as they are fairly near (12 miles) and fairly easy to get to by public transport from Bradford Train or bus...

John the Entertaining
Advantages: Very emotional writing
Disadvantages: Quite slow paced
...Up until now, I'd only ever heard of ''John the Revelator'' as a song. Judging from the several mentions of the song in the story and given that author Peter Murphy works in the music press, I suspect that's where the title of this novel came from as well. How much I enjoy the song depends on which version of it I hear, but with no such concerns with the book, I was able to enjoy it fully without worrying if someone had done a better version elsewhere that I was missing out on.
John Devine is a teenager stuck in a small Irish town with a single mother, no real friends and a rather worrying fascination for bodily parasites, mostly intestinal worms. His only human contact is with his mother Lily, Mrs Nagle, an elderly neighbour and Harry Farrell, a local jack-of-all-trades. His only break from the house and from school is Sunday Mass. Not...

Moore On A Mission!
Advantages: Informative, funny & easy to read
Disadvantages: Very similiar to the content of "Fahrenheit 9/11"
...Michael Moore is a man on a mission. This mission is to remove George W. Bush as President of the United States. And already Moore has probably inflicted more damage on Bush?s campaign to be re-elected than John Kerry or any other Democrat. The mission continues with ?Dude Where?s My Country??
?Dude Where?s My Country?? is the sequel to the best-selling ?Stupid White Men? and along with the record breaking ?Fahrenheit 9/11? is part of Michael Moore?s one-man campaign against George W. Bush.
While ?Stupid White Men? made Moore?s contempt of President Bush very apparent, the book covered a wide variety of themes such as racism in American society, how Mother Nature is killing off men and how the Democrats really aren?t very different from the Republicans. ?Dude Where?s My Country?? is far more focused.
In a similar vein to...
