Great DVD for Josie fans I prefer Musical Stories.

Advantages: Energetic, fun entertainment for under 5's
Disadvantages: All about Josie, I prefer the other balamory dvds.

...If you've never seen an episode of Balamory it features stories based around the lives of seven colourful and cheerful adult characters living in Balamory. Josie Jump is one of these characters-the gym teacher who is always full of energy. She never sits still! Josie loves to dance and run and jump, and play sport. Josie and the Pussycats - Region 1 DVD

Advantages: Good picture and sound, excellent features.
Disadvantages: Documentary could be a bit more detailed.

...the film and are mostly forgettable. 3 music videos are included on the DVD, the best one by far being ?3 Small Words? by Josie and the Pussycats themselves. This is a fantastic song and the full-length video is really well put together ? clips from which can be seen in the films opening credits. The remaining 2 videos are by the other band featured in the film, Dujour. ?Backdoor Lover? and ?Dujour around the World? are both featured heavily in the film, and the videos, like the songs themselves, are played more for laughs than anything else. Finally, we have the obligatory Theatrical Trailer, a nice set of Production Notes and some Cast & Filmmakers Biographies. Advantages: kitch, cool, amusing, fun to watch
Disadvantages: can only watch on Sky, not on often

...Josie and the Pussycats is the height of retro coolness. Its original form was as a cartoon book, which was turned into a tv show in the 70s. Recently, it has been brought bang up to date in Josie and the Pussycats movie, which was released in April (USA) staring Rachael Leigh Cook, Tara Ried (of American Pie fame) and Rosario Dawson. Its soon to be released here in the UK, The release date is August 24th. I was first introduced to the Josie idea, when i was on holiday in america and saw the film. My godmother insisted we see it, as she had grown up in the 70s watching the cartoon. Im not 100% sure whether it did air in England in the 70s though. I won't be returning.... maybe you will

Advantages: An interesting way of trying to tell a tired tale; cross-gender appeal
Disadvantages: Hard to get into and rather shallow

..., has her own issues. Completing the set is Greg Stringer, known by his surname or affectionately as "Horse", desperate to prove himself in a number of respects! We follow the friends, together with a few accomplices in the weeks up to the wedding: the preparations, the stag party, the hen party and finally the wedding. The style of this book is, for me, what makes and breaks it. Each chapter is written in the first person but from the perspective of one of the 4 characters, Matt, Stringer, Susie and H (interestingly NOT Jack or Amy who narrated the first). Under the co-authorship of Josie Lloyd and Emlyn Rees, we are, I imagine, meant to read authentic male/female perspectives on the situations in hand. Now, it may be that I was at a disadvantage not having read the first in the series, but I actually found the style...

Advantages: Funny, good tunes, light hearted fun.
Disadvantages: You may hate the overdone product placement gag.

Advantages: Nice Music, Clothes, and Good Acting.
Disadvantages: Rachel Leigh Cook's hairstyle is just not possible in real life!

Advantages: Easy to read - some very funny dialogue
