...Mind, Body & Soul is Joss Stone's 2nd album. From reading a little about this album she apparently saw it more as 'hers' than the first album 'Soul sessions'. This is evident in the lyrics of the first song 'Right to be wrong' where she sings "I've got a right to be wrong, my mistakes will make me strong", and goes on to change that second line in one verse with "Gotta sing my own song". This is altogether a rather more mature offering than her first album, not that this means it is better. I certainly loved the use of vocals on the first album and the retro soul style. Anyway the notoriously difficult second album, does she cut it? Track 1. Right to be wrong. Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Joss Stone- Mind Body and Soul

Advantages: powerful and inspiring
Disadvantages: a little repetitive in some places

...I was never a great fan of jazz music or anything remotely like Joss Stone. Until i heard Joss Stone's track 'You Had Me' on the radio a few weeks ago. There was something different about it, full of life and inspiration. It has certinly changed my opinion. After that i decided to buy her album, mind body and soul. It has been one of the best albums i have spent my money on. I really feel I can relate to the lyrics, you can feel the passion in her voice. This album has a feel good, strong attitude to it, a real treat to listen to. The backing music is top class, Joss's voice and the instrumentals really compliment each other, they harmonise extremly well. The only things i found which i didnt like about the album was that some songs are quite repetitive, sounding rather like another, but this wasnt a pressing issue!...

...The Soul Sessions was Joss Stone's debut album. Released in 2003 when Joss was only just 17 years old. Incredible in itself for such a mature debut at such an early age, what seems even more stunning to me was that this soul inspired album is by a British artiste. I am having so much fun converting my CD's to itunes, listening to albums that have been neglected. The artwork both on the cover of the CD case and on the CD itself is pretty retro, in smokey purple, in truth, quite boring. I could write about the triple platinum sales, or the awards and accolades, but I prefer to write about the songs themselves.
