LONDON BRIDGE IS FALLING DOWN

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -

...step ahead of Cross and the FBI there was a feeling of inevitability that he would not be captured and stopped in time. Maybe, just maybe though, the Wolfs penchant for blowing up famous bridges might just prove to be his undoing. ?People ought to feel comfortable going about their lives, knowing that their government is doing everything humanly possible to disrupt any potential activity that the evil ones may try to inflict upon us.? London Bridges marks the seventh outing for Alex Cross and our hero has still got what it takes to keep the reader turning the pages in eager anticipation. The beauty of this book is that it can be picked up and enjoyed either by a die hard fan of James Patterson?s Alex Cross series or a complete newcomer to the collection, there is just the right level of information at the beginning of the book to...

London Bridge Is Standing Strong In America

Advantages: Beautiful area, lovely to stroll around
Disadvantages: None

...***Background*** Having left the Wild West town of Oatman, we headed down the old route 66 until it joined on to Route 95. This was a beautiful section of road and we thoroughly enjoyed this historic road especially as it took us past the lovely Topock Bay. Turning on to London Bridge Road just past Lake Havasu Airport is the best road into this lovely town, as it takes you right down the lakeside and gives you a chance to explore this area a little bit before heading into the main attraction of London Bridge. Lake Havasu City is in Arizona but only around 5 miles from the Californian Border. The Lake is part of the Colorado River although this section was much prettier than the muddy waters that we had seen around the Canyon area. The Lake was formed when Parker Dam was built in the 1930's and is a haven for wildlife around...

London Bridges

Advantages: Quick and easy read
Disadvantages: Disappointing and abrupt end

...?s home. To prevent the bombings and murders Alex and the FBI must pay an improbable amount somewhat over a billion dollars and release a number of political prisoners, if that wasn?t bad enough to prove that he is serious, the Wolf engineers the annihilation of a small desert town, evacuating first to prevent casualties. When this doesn?t get the point across, he blows up the Queensboro Bridge in New York and a bridge in Paris. Like any Cross novel the story follows the case and Alex as he chases numerous leads to a dead end, with numerous partners from the United States and various other countries, he desperately works to find the Wolf before their deadline expires and thousand of people die. With the incredibly short chapters (very few are over two pages) and simplistic writing, the book is a quick and easy read, like any Patterson novel...

Review of London Bridges - James Patterson

London Bridges by James Patterson

Advantages: Alex Cross genre
Disadvantages: no disadvantages

...London Bridges by James Patterson is a novel featuring Alex Cross as an FBI agent. This is one of many of James Patterson's characters and he is teamed once again in the book with the Wolf and Weasel characters. The story really begins with the evacuation of a town in Middle America and the town then being exploded apart by the character of the Wolf with assistance from the Weasel. There is then a meeting involving the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, etc to find out what happened. The Wolf who tells them that he is holding them to ransom, along with Britain, France and anyone else he feels like it contacts them. Thus begins the story of London Bridges, not a fast paced novel but a moving novel all the same. It leads you on twists and turns in America, Britain and France chasing after the Wolf and his associates to prevent...

London Bridge is falling down

Advantages: Still has talent even if he doesn't always show it
Disadvantages: Clearly some tracks not worth listening to

...Kano, born Kane Brett Robinson, returns for his second album and the follow up to 2005's 'Home Sweet Home' with 'London Town'. Born on the 21st May 1985, Kano is another British star that brought grime to the masses along with Dizzee Rascal, and with that Kano has became the second biggest star for his genre, however being a big star in his specific area has its downfalls as people are more critical of his work and are likely to be more drawn to the independant artists, a tag that Kano can no longer carry with his larger budget. Featuring twelve tracks, it is reasonable to expect that there shall be some standout tracks that just need to be released as singles. So far the only named single from London Town is 'This is the Girl' featuring Craig David. Hearing this before hearing the rest of the album, I thought Kano was going to hit...

A Journey along the bridge

Advantages: A must see in San Francisco
Disadvantages: cold ...brrr

...A trip to San Francisco must include a visit to the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge. A recent trip there confirms my believe that it is one of the most magnificent structure ever built. This is a synopsis of my recent visit. The bridge was completed in 1937 and from near its a bright red-orange. Its about 1.7 miles long. The bridge is supported by two large towers and tons of cables. Standing at the foot of the bridge, and looking up, you could feel the enormity of the entire structure. It is best getting there by car. Park at the Visitor's centre car park and go onto the bridge. Dress warmly as it can get really chilly. Forgetting the pollution emitted from the vehicles travelling on the bridge, the view of the hills, the ocean and the ships streaming in and out of the river brings a sense of peacefulness into one...

A Little Gem in London

Advantages: Right in the hub of things with good transport links
Disadvantages: A little on the expensive side?

...We first stayed at the London Bridge Hotel on the recommendation of Great Rail Journeys as an overnight stop before travelling on Eurostar from Waterloo. Today, with Eurostar having moved to St Pancras the London Bridge Hotel is no longer used by Great Rail Journeys but it is now our first choice for accommodation if we are in London to see a West End Show. The hotel is right in the hub of things but when you step through the door you are in a different world. A world of cheerful and polite staff that do everything to make your stay a special occasion. The rooms are beautifully furnished and exceptionally clean with robes and slippers in the wardrobe for your personal use. The hotel offers an evening meal and if you are wanting to go to the theatre they can offer an early mealtime so that you can eat at leisure before going...

Upon Westminster Bridge-Wordsworth/London-Blake

Advantages: Memorable poem!
Disadvantages: N/A

...suspect, have been an unwelcome visitor to Blake as a person who held strong anti-establishment views, and Wordsworth as he was not a proponent of the industrial revolution but a Romantic. The titles in themselves state vague opinions of the respective poets about the city, Wordsworth's title: "composed upon Westminster Bridge" is in a way romantic and euphoric when compared with Blake's "London" - he is dismissing it as London and giving it no other credit for the huge industrialised machine that it has become. One should note that Blake's poem was written at the end of a centaury where as Wordsworth's was written at the beginning of the next, suggesting that the latter would be more imaginative and appreciative, as with the turn of any centuary comes new beginnings, modernisation and general new-found appreciation for the new. Wordsworth...

This bridge lifts

Advantages: Good play value
Disadvantages: none

...I was only playing with this toy train bridge yesterday at work, so I thought I would tell you about it. This Brio wooden lifting bridge is a good addition to a brio or brio compatible train set. My group of children and I built a train track across the classroom floor and added this bridge. The bridge includes to ascending tracks. When fitted into place the length including the 2 ascending tracks 648mm/25.5." Brio tracks allow wooden trains to run along the two parallel grooves on the track. Brio track has grooves on both sides to make them reversible a piece of track that curves right can be turned over to make it curve in the opposite direction. One piece of track connects to the next with a male or female connector like a jigsaw piece has. This bridge is a lifting bridge. There are two short towers into which the ends...

LONDON'S CALLING

Advantages: Pleasent stay, good food, central location
Disadvantages: Views from room

...eateries/drinking places and chose 372, which offers carvery selection. I was surprise how hot and fresh the food was. Not only that it was tasty too! We opted for lamb with roast potatoes, new potatoes and three vegetables. However, my only complaint about the meal was the vegetables; they were a tad on the raw side for my liking. That said I ALWAYS OVER cook my veggies. Dessert was for me home made apple pie and cream, while the other half opted for home made cheesecake ? both were consumed without any complaints and very much enjoyed. Our meal for two with drinks cost £29) Hotel: the hotel it situated in the Strand which is in central London and easy to walk to theatres such as the Aldwych, Lyceum, and many more. Come out the front of the hotel and turn right, and you?ll be heading towards Trafalgar square with Nelson, bear left and you...
