Honey I shrunk the Joystick
Advantages: Neat fold away design, costs peanuts
Disadvantages: Not exactly crammed with features
...I actually bought my ST90 whilst on a school trip in New York. In a little computer store opposite Macy's as it happens, but that's beside the point. Prior to purchasing this ST90, I only had its poor brother, the ST50, which had served me well, and showed that Saitek designed and constructer very sturdy little joysticks. I had used the '50' in all sorts of situations - a keen driving sim fan, it had been especially useful for use as a gearstick, pushing and pulling to change gears. When I had got bored of burning virtual rubber, the little hunk of black plastic was more than happy to jump straight into the role of flight simulator joystick, and performed equally as well in such a role. To my joy, when returning home, I found out that exactly was same was true of the ST50's big brother - the '90'
One of my main reasons...

One great joystick
Advantages: price,USB Connector,solid,game profiles,right handed and left
Disadvantages: clashes with my belkin N50 , big thumb screws
...Hi I just had to add my two pennys on this because have you ever played a flight simulator and wished that the joystick you were using was more comfortable? Are you left handed? Are your hands larger than average, perhaps? This maybe a solution for you. The Saitek Cyborg Evo joystick.I think that this joystick is the most customizable joystick. Saitek has been known as a company that makes nice products, at good prices. The Cyborg Evo features 4 axis control, 8-way hat switch, trigger, 5 stick buttons, 6 base buttons and a throttle lever. The joystick is fully programmable using the included Saitek Software. It's Windows 98, SE, Millenium, 2000, & XP compatible and all that over an USB Connector. But the best thing about the Cyborg evo is the many ways you can adjust the joystick with some chunky metal thumb screws so you can use this...

Best joystick ever
Advantages: comfortable, flexible
Disadvantages: None
...This is, quiet simply ? the best joystick I have ever used. You get a throttle, eight buttons and a shift key should you want to assign to functions to a button, a mini joystick to control, say, head movement and a rotateable stick to control, say, roll. Phew! The stick is very comfortable, more so than the force feedback version which has a huge base, leaving your wrist unsupported, though you do have to be right handed. It handles all the game types you would expect a non-arcade joystick to handle. Just the same, it?s terrible at all the sort of games you would expect it to be terrible at. Platform games, puzzle games, first person shooters, etc. I challenge you to find a better joystick than this....

Fair joystick - fair price
Advantages: Programmable buttons, ergonomic
Disadvantages: No force feedback
...Regular Ciaoers will now that even though quite a regular poster and reader - I do have time away from opinion rating. When I`m at my computer and looking for serious downtime I enjoy the occasional thrill of flight simulation.
My logitech wingman replaced a previous offering by Saitek. now, all companies have budget joysticks but saitek sort of rule this end of the market so I had definitely been flying with the cheapest technology around - sort of like an easyjet for simulators.
My logitech wingman cost £28.99 from the local PC World store but I`m sure that eight months have brought about a slight down turn in price. I desperately wanted a joystick with force feedback but Mrs. Plymyphil was there reminding me of my obligation to feed and control the children so I walked along the line past the expensive controllers and into...

joy for the joystick
Advantages: you can't play the game without it
Disadvantages: none
...We got this joystick with the Vsmile console which we got our eldest son for Christmas.
The sky blue coloured joystick is the same colour as the console itself and plugs into the console by a small thin silver conection similar to that of a microphone or earphones.
The wire is exceptionally long and allows the console to be sat infront of the TV while my son sits very comfortably on the sofa and not too close to the TV.
There is a small red button on the base of the stick which allows the swich from left to right and vice versa. There is no need to do anything else as the joy stick senses that this has been done and works as it should regardless of which hand the child uses to control it.
Opposite the stick there is a drawing pad which cannot be used on all games but for the ones which are compatable, the child can use...

A nice, basic joystick for basic means
Advantages: Simple; easy to use for right handed people; does its job
Disadvantages: Limited functionality; not recommended for left-handed players
... Basic Introduction
After purchasing the much sought-after latest version of Flight Simulator, I quickly decided that to get the most out of my new game I would need to purchase a joystick. At that time, I simply thought that all joysticks were the same and went for the cheapest option I could find; which turned out to be this Logic3 StarFighter.
This, like most other joysticks, was simply connected up to the PC using a USB port and, after some configuration (i.e. moving the throttle up and down to determine the lowest and highest it could go from on a normal scale - to be honest it didn't go very far at all and this was why, as I describe later on, the throttle doesn't have as much functionality as it could have. You also have to move the joystick around a few times to determine ITS limits - although they seemed OK in...

Saitek ST290 joystick
Advantages: Shape, handle adjustment, control, throttle, price, look, twist handle
Disadvantages: Pivot is bare, could have more buttons
...The Saitek ST290 joystick offers a good quality gaming experience without the massive costs of some higher end models. The joystick is wired and plugs straight into an availabe USB port for a great 'plug and play' experience. No programming is necessary for the joystick as this is sometime done by the game that you are playing (especially Microsoft Flight Simulator).
The joystick features a height-adjustable hand rest which is great for people with different sized hands and can be adjusted easily by a simple screw. The joystick has five buttons which can be used for different purposes such as changing views or whatever you need them to do. There is also an eight-way hat switch which is very easy to use and can be used to do things such as move around views. There is also the trigger which is appropriately placed to give a great...

My logitech extreme 3D Pro joystick
Advantages: Nice feel, 12 buttons, twist stick
Disadvantages: Only right handes, top hat bit twitchy
...Hi. I bought one of these joysticks about 4 months ago and have been pretty pleased with it. It has 12 buttons on it which you can program to do what you want it to do and has a twist stick, (for say controlling the rudder in an aircraft).
So far I have had no major problems. Lest take a flying game for example. The feel of the joystick is nice and has a nice tension on it so when I say bank the aircraft it feels like you have to push the stick with a little force to move it which I like ( just to point out it isn't force feedback ). The twist doesn't have as much force on it so does seem a little easy to turn but is fine though. The buttons are nicely placed so they are easy to get to.
Now on to the bad points, the top hat does tend to need a bit of pressure sometimes to get it to stay where you want it to look but isn't a major...

The ST90 - Its Just Not A Joystick
Advantages: Easy To Install
Disadvantages: Uncompfy, Poor Performance, Tendensy for bits to drop off.
...Hi.
Well, I bought this Joystick due to its funky looks and small price tag. From the writing on the box - "Ultimate Performance" - I guessed it coudnt be that bad? .... Its times like this you realise just how wrong you can be.
I bourght the joystick from a local Computer dealer for the measely some of £13.99. Eager to try it out, I drove home and plugged it straight into the computer. To my surprise, windows XP Picked it up instantly requiring no software instillation. I Found this feature to be good as it saved alot of messing about and wasted little time. Once plugged in, I proceeded to Calibrate the joystick, This was also very easy and within 5 minutes, My joystick was Ready for action.
Now, The Problems :S....
As soon as i got into the game ( Flight Simulator ) , My "plane" Just drifted to the side. The only way to...

Advantages: Many adjustable buttons, Wireless
Disadvantages: None that i Can think of!
...is very responsive and is very accurate in its movements.
I would recommend this joystick to anyone as it it is not particularly expensive, aroun £30-£40. It is also a very good stick with unlimted adjustability....
