...I first found out about the Jubilee Sailing Trust in the Southampton Boat Show. My Mum knew about it and was rather keen on me going on one of the trips so we took a brochure and a few weeks later I was booked aboard Tenacious for this summer to sail from Southampton to London. Before going on the trip I wasn't too keen or excited about the trip as I had never sailed before and it didn't particularly appeal to me. I will say now that I am extremely glad that my Mum pushed for me to take up this opportunity as I have leant so much from the trip as well as making loads of new friends and encountering new experiences. I now can't wait to go on another trip next summer - and hopefully an even longer one! Almost as Good as Granddad's

Advantages: Full marks for flavour. Wonderful nostalgic aroma
Disadvantages: Packaging not recyclable. Grown abroad

...Tomatoes may be a strange choice for a review but these Jubilee offerings are so special I could not resist passing on the good news. Tomatoes have always been a favourite with me but over the years I have found myself enjoying them less and always put it down to the inevitable decline in my faculties! However these wonderful tomatoes restored my confidence that my taste-buds are still in working order and my sense of smell is not yet quite over the hill. Quite a rejuvenating experience all round! I am not sure what first prompted me to opt for these when doing my online shop. Maybe they were on a special offer or I was just feeling more adventurous than usual but when they arrived they presented a very attractive package. Celebrate the Jubilee

...If only all of the London Underground could be like the new Jubilee extension. Yes, London Transport has given itself a problem by putting fast quiet trains through to clean spacious stations, and now we want them all to be like the Jubilee. The new extensions out to the Dome, including the new stop at Westminster Palace really do upgrade the network for the 21st century. Yes it was delayed, yes it was over budget, but as a traveller I love it. The new stations are like those found on DC's Metro, clean open and with a feeling of safety lacking in the oldest stations. New glass partitions keep passengers away from the platform edge, so there is no chance of paassengers falling (or jumping) onto th track. this not only saves lives, but from a management point of view also keeps the trains running. ...Before I start, I am one on the many that is not entirely certain of the Royal Family. A few too many odd apples in one barrel! But I just could not let this event go past without saying that we did not do anything. Golden Jubilee Year Tattoo

Advantages: Some great music on the tracks
Disadvantages: but some not so good ones - and quite expensive

...This CD contains the music that was recorded at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2000 - the Golden Jubilee Year. The music is recorded live from the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle and the audience 'participation' is heard i.e. rounds of applause at the end of each item. There is great variety in the types of music included on the CD - from traditional Scottish to South African Zulu music, from Military Bands to Steel Orchestras. This variety in music helps create one very good CD to listen to. There are a few disadvantages to this CD though - some of the tracks arent as good and arent really as worth listening to, they just dont get the same feeling without seeing what is going on at the same time, especially with the South African Infantry Zulu Dance Team and another track. Other disadvantages are that the CD is qutie expensive...

...To put it frankly, I was very impressed by the Jubilee line. I had a day ticket which I thought was very reasonably priced, in the region of one ound. The trains always cam on time, and were always immaculately clean, although I went at an off peak time, the trains were still pretty crowded but I suppose thats to be expected really, espescially as the day I went was the day of the London marathon, there was a slight delay as someone had tgrown themselves on the line but of course that's nothing to do with the jubilee line itself. My advice is, you'll be surprised!...

Queen Elizabeth 2nd Golden Jubilee

Advantages: Brought the Nation together, reminds me of the pride of being a Londoner

...Aged three - I was too young to remember The Silver Jubilee in 1977. When growing up the key events to look forward to for me, had been the solar eclipse and then the Millennium. I have a little collection of keepsakes relating to those dates and now I can add some bits and pieces from the Queen?s Golden Jubilee as it is an event that I feel has been a huge success and will be remembered in history. I understand that not every one in the United Kingdom feels that the monarchy is a worthwhile cause and I can understand the reasons why, but personally I love all the pomp and tradition that comes from our Royal Family. The acoustic roots of the previous album seep through at times, but this is a harder-edged record with the emphasis on rock rather than folk/country.
