Julia Roberts has a stupid moment

...This film is poorly rated at IMDB.com, but I still somehow ended up watching it. It stars Julia Roberts and Clive Owen as spys who team up to con their bosses. From the get-go, this film just oozes cheesiness. We were watching it and I kept thinking ?it?s going to get better?, but it just didn?t. Now I like Julia Roberts, in pretty much everything she has ever done. I think she?s a great actress and has quite a bit of integrity (particularly recently) in her film choices, but this one was poor. Clive Owen is a smarmy git at the best of times, and he comes across as James Bond?s crap brother in this film. The plot is just so basic, predictable and almost laughable that it?s almost like a kid?s film! I kept thinking there might have been some cool spy ideas in there, like clever techniques or gadgets. The atmosphere suggests there...

...Julia and Julia is director Nora Ephron's adaptation of two books:one written by Julia Child and another by Julie Powell.Any film that takes life from life itself is usually good and this film is no different. The film tells the story of Julia Child,the author of the famous cookbook and Julie Powell,a simple working woman who decides to make Julia's recipes by herself and decides to write a blog about it.The two stories(one set in 1940s when Julia was young and another set in 2002 when Julie is reading Julia's book) run parallely on screen and unfolds gradually on screen. ...Some people say that I used to look very simalar to the main star and character in this movie, Sandra Bullock. ...Stephen Soderburgh is not a director who has held much interest for me in the past. I have seen alot of his work, usually by accident because having seen one or two, he certainly wouldn't have been a director I sought out. Movies like Kafka, Sex, Lies and Videotape, and the abysmally dull The Limey did nothing to set my world alight, or that of the movie world in general for that matter, so I didn't really hold out too much hope for Erin Brockovich either. That said, Julia Roberts can always be relied upon for a watchable performance and Albert Finney is equally reliable so I decided to give it a chance...and having done so, I have no qualms in recommending this movie wholeheartedly to you as well. Pretty Woman is Julia Roberts at her best, nice wardrobe, too!

...I just love Pretty Woman; to me it?s a classic. It?s one of those DVDs worth buying and keeping, and to be honest, I do watch it every now and then. I even tell my friends it?s the movie I keep repeating when I am depressed or bored. It?s not that I identify with a Cinderella story, it?s more the telling that addicted me to Pretty Woman. I hope there will be no remake of Pretty Woman, because I cannot imagine anybody else playing Julia Roberts? character. It will be like a shoe that does not fit when that happens!
