All About Juliannes side project

Advantages: Good indie sound, lots of tracks = VFM

...This was actually the second album by Mice, the first was "Because I Can". If the name Julianne Regan sounds familiar its because she was doing this after the initial break up of her more famous group All About Eve. Mice was headed by the lady herself and also featured Tim McTighe who played bass, Christian Hayes (also known as Bic for some reason) who played guitar, Andy Cousin who also played bass on a couple of tracks, Marty Wilson-Piper who also played guitar on a few tracks & Mark Price who played drums. In reality this isn't really a second album at all, its actually more like a rehash or "Best Of" album as it contains all of the tracks off Because I Can and a few b-sides, some remixes & some previously unreleased demo versions. The band Mice didn't exist very long as an entity so this album is pretty hard to find these day...

...The latest book to head my way is none other than 'RSPV', written by author Tara Moore. Now when I first saw the book I had no idea what it was going to be like. I had never heard of Tara Moore before so her style was going to be completely new to me. However, the cover of the book itself is incredibly attractive. All we see is the neck and lower face of a woman, with a large glittering necklace around her neck. Now for ages I thought this read 'RSUP', and it wasn't until I went to find out more about the author before reading did I realise that this necklace actually read 'RSVP'. Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. Advantages: Children can burn off some energy, dogs are welcome and cyclists, great views.

We Want Moore...

Advantages: imaginative celtic rock.
Disadvantages: dont expect the Gary Moore of the blues days.

...Gary Moore became best known for his blues period in the 1990s but we should remember that he has moved through a wide range of musical styles, all based in the rock format, but all with very distinct flavours. After learning his trade with Skid Row and a brief stint with the young Thin Lizzy, as well as recording as the Gary Moore Band, the guitarist spent a number of years in Jazz rock band Colosseum II. Following that solo albums and another stint with Thin Lizzy resulted in the now famous Black Rose album, and the single Parisiene Walkways. A long on off friendship with Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott comes to an end with Lynotts death in 1986, and this album was released the following year.
