But here they are more successfully embedded in the story, as the players try to recreate the effects of the blockbusters they are remaking. The best example of this is a prolonged tracking shot where Alma sets one effect rolling and we move through the sets of various movies as characters dive in and out of roles and films. It gives a nice flow to what would otherwise be a generic montage. It is also symptomatic of the sense of fun inherent in Gondry?s filmmaking. There are other moments as we watch the ?sweded? versions of the films, which show the memorable bits from a number of pictures. Should be titled 'Just one Sitting'!

...I am currently working my way through all the books I can get my hands on by Harlan Coben. Since borrowing one of his books from my daughter, I have been hooked. I love it when I find a new author to like! 'Just One Look' is the most recent one I have read. In fact I took it on holiday with me last month and read it in two days! I would have read it in a day if I had been at home, as I found it hard to put down. The only problem was, by reading it so quickly I had nothing left to read for the rest of my holiday! The story centres around Grace Lawson. Happily married to husband Jack, and mum to their two children, her contented world is thrown into turmoil when she collects a set of photographs she had taken to be developed. Just Jealous - Guns shouldn't be placed in jealous hands.

Advantages: Good story, great plot twists, realistic.
Disadvantages: Dislikeable main character which remains hateable for a long time.

...tempted to put the book down but several chapters and one third into the book she was a bit easier to read. I think the reason for that was because Cassidy had finally found something to write down which would make us empathise with Elise more. I thought most of the characters were believable and unique but there wasn't a lot of focus on them entirely, they seemed to be pushed away from the spotlight for the plot, which is something I'm not unhappy about. The plot line is interesting and focuses on the theme jealousy and all different types of it. There are several sub-plots to go along with the story and I thought Anne Cassidy cleverly slipped them in the story line in such a realistic way that it would be as if the encounters with these sub-plots would be like discovering something in real life. ...Just my luck was a film that I received as a present, I hadn?t seen it at the cinema and I hadn?t really heard anything about it until I unwrapped it. However, on first impression, it did appeal to me and it seemed like it would be my kind of film, I love chick flicks and after reading the back of the DVD case, this looked to be one. I also saw that it has Lindsay Lohan in, another good sign as she is one of my favourite actresses, having been in films that I love such as Mean Girls and Freaky Friday. I also saw that it had McFly in, starring as themselves and was glad as I had obviously heard of them and quite like some of their songs, although it was a while ago when they were really famous here. The plot isn?t too overused, which is good because I find it boring when in teen movies they use the same plot again in different films...
