However, if you are in the market for a good DVD player that is packed with features, the JVC XV-N55SL would be worthy of consideration. We have had ours a couple of years now, but last year it got relegated to the dining room when we purchased our DVD recorder. The Sound of Silence......JVC Style.........

Advantages: Stunning Sound and User Friendly

Therefore it had to go back to the manufacturers for repair, who after a couple of days of calling managed to answer their ( 1 ) phone, said they would be in touch. They then sent us a large bag to put the unit in and off it went to the JVC service centre. We got it back about 6 weeks later, at a cost of £65:00. It has never been the same since with numerous "error messages" appearing on the screen all the time. After about two months, It then packed in again completely. We sent it back to JVC once again and got it back after about 6 weeks , and another bill for £65:00. Which we were not happy with at all and now had enough of this wretched thing. Too much hassle all the time. I really cannot elaborate much more on the technical side of this machine anymore...

My reliable JVC

Advantages: Great sounding speakers, good features
Disadvantages: Doesnt have a Subwoofer

...My HI-Fi JVC MXKB4 Has worked a treat from I first bought it in 2004 Christmas. I have used it now from the end of 2004 and I have to say, its great. I think the sound quality has been awsome. I have the double ended headphone ting that plugs into the AUX port on the HiFi and into my T.V's Headphone slot so I can listen to my TV through that. (This is in my bedroom) I play the PS2 through it aswell and I love the sound quality. I think the bass could be improved. WIthout Dynamic Bass on a HIFi or a subwoofer the hifi is nothing. The bass makes it. This one has good bass but as usual - there is room for improvement! Maybe a USB port to plug your MP3 player into as well would be nice. I have that cable so I can do it (Listen to my MP3 player via the AUX) but other poeple who dont have that cable cant. I cant even find a shop who...
