Never having had a digital camcorder before, I did a huge amount of background research and that just left me not wanting anything with tapes or DVDs that need changing, editing or run out at the innoportune moments! Just Very Cool GZ-MG130

...Recording those special moments in life have never been easier for me since I bought the JVC GZ-MG130 for £300 (well, £299.99 incl delivery) prior to Christmas. JVC GZ-MG70 Hard Disk Camcorder

Advantages: Very easy to use

Since you dont need media ie DVD's or tapes this camcorder very good value for money. The GZ-MG70 has a 30GB hard disk which can record for over 7 hours of ultra fine DVD quality, which is near broadcast quality. Or 14 hours of normal quality. It can also be used as a web cam with up to 37.5 hours max recording time. The battery life is comparable with other camcorders, I havent yet run it non stop from full charge to empty in a single go yet. But my brother borrowed it and said it was about the same as his Samsung one. If you cant affrod the JVC GZ-MG70 go for the JVC GZ-MG60 they are the same expept for the recording time, the JVC GZ-MG60 only has a 20GB hard drive wich...

  Damn, I Shoulda Brought A Laptop

Advantages: Great looking camera, amazing zoom, amazing footage
Disadvantages: No instruction manuel, very expensive and maybe not worth the money

...of someone who doesn?t know too much about camcorders so sorry there isn?t much on the techy side of things because seriously I would have had no idea. I think the JVC Everio is a great little camcorder and I think that if you want a basic camcorder then the Everio is for you. If you are looking for a camcorder which is light, compact but still does a good job then this camera is most definitely for you, but the price is what scared me off a little and still does, because I really don?t need the camera at the moment and I really wish I had spent the money on something more productive. However I have another filming session on Monday, and I will be taking my lovely camcorder with me to see what footage I can get out of it, and see if it?s better than the crappy one that my teachers been boasting about. Advantages: Light weight, easy-to-use interface, low price, good picture quality
