JVC - excellant value.
Review of JVC GR-AX201 by
BigGip
Advantages: Excellant pictures, features and value.
Disadvantages: Uses an eye piece rather than a side screen.
...I have recently bought a JVC compact VHS digital camcorder, model number GR-AX201. I bought this particular item as I am well into computers and wanted to try messing around with the various digital features. My wife also want a digital camera.
This camcorder can take still snapshots, comes with many editing features for the experienced user and is so easy to use for the less experienced. It comes with an excellant picture stabalizer, very quick auto focus and an integrated auto light for use when the natural light is too dim. It has many other features which I could give however the one I like is the way I can just remove the film, place it into the cassette adapter ( basically a video tape ), and then watch it immediately like a video.
This product is excellant for anyone wanting a digital camcorder....

Video Camera Meets Computer Technology.
Review of JVC GR D720 by
kebon77
Advantages: all of the features
Disadvantages: none
...The JVC GR-DVL720 Digital Cybercam Camcorder is a great introductory to new wave technology when dealing with video cameras and computers. These days everone loves to share images and moving photos of loved ones and the JVC GR-DVL720 Digital Cybercam Camcorder is not only the greatest but most affordable for all of the features that it has to offer. I had to buy the JVC GR-DVL720 Digital Cybercam Camcorder because of the twins of course and because of both of our parents living out of town. I am going to try to give you a summary below of the JVC GR-DVL720 Digital Cybercam Camcorder and you can make your own decision.
EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL USE:
My experience with this video recorder has been phenominal. Not only can I take some of the best movies of my children but I can also take still pictures for photos. It is very reliable...

Brill Camera
Review of JVC GR-DVL 9200 by
Janeinnes
Advantages: Lifelong memories
Disadvantages: Batteries are quite expensive
...When my husband was looking for a new digital camcorder he was at a loss where to look, so we searched the website and found the JVC DVL 9200. It does everything for you but wash the dishes.
As we are into family movie making in a big way we were delighted to find that we would download our film on to the computer, using a fire wire port, edit it and then save it to a cd. This camera is ideal for this as the film you get is clear and the sound is brilliant.
However after a few goes we then discovered that with a different JVC model, DVL 9800 with DV input and output we could then render the film back to the camera and make copies on the VCR. This model is Slighty upmarket and has a built in Card to save still photos.
Both cameras capture still shots and are equally good for movie making both CD and VCR copies....

Excellent miniDV camera for people on a budget
Review of JVC GR D20 by
jeke
Advantages: cheap miniDV camcorder, excellent outdoor quality, quite small
Disadvantages: a bit of motor noise, wind cut is not effective
...The JVC GR-D20 is JVC's cheapest offering in their range of miniDV cameras. Consequently, it comes with very few frills at a fairly low price (I paid 275 pounds at greatsaves in August).
Consumer camcorders of the miniDV format have a number of typical advantages and disadvantages. They produce excellent video in good lighting conditions and they are quite small. However, they tend to underperform in poor lighting conditions and, due to their small size, their microphones tend to pick up motor noise.
The JVC GR-D20 is not different. Image quality suffers quite a bit when it gets dark. Night scenes in cities can produce rather grainy images with poor colour reproduction. However, because the lens (the same one the is used in the more upmarket variations of the JVC GR-Dxx) of this camcorder has a widest aperture of f1...

JVC Good
Review of JVC GR DVL9600 by
ssd5000
Advantages: Movie Quality
Disadvantages: Picture Quality
...The JVC GR-DVL9600 is at top of JVC’s consumer camcorder range, the GR-DVL9600 is stuffed with as many bits and bobs as the engineers could mange and this has to make you think that it’s probably trying to be too many different things to too many different people. It’s a bit like that new, over keen staff member who’s trying to please all the people all the time. If it would calm down a bit I might like it a bit more.
It looks pretty good, and is pleasantly small and rounded for a palm type so that it fits comfortably in the hand. Knobs and buttons are all where they should be although the two important selectors the one on the side which switches between progressive scan, video and the photo modes and the on/off switch at the back- could not do with being more difficult to turn. I found myself having to check the mode dial after I...

It is reliable
Review of JVC GR DVX4EK by
possessionwithintention
Advantages: Ease of use with PC
Disadvantages: Difficult digital video editing
...It has 10x zoom, but personally I think other camcorders in the store had more zoom power, despite the zoom effect diminishing after a while. What makes this such a useful product in my opinion, is the abundance of quality, and reliable software bundled with the camera. It allows you to go through your entire tape looking for the exact picture that you want, including a feature where you specify the exact time you want the snapshot to be taken. The LCD screen is a pleasant change for those who dislike having their face stuck to their camcorder for the duration of the recording, and its maneuverability ensures constant ease of use. However the most annoying feature of this camcorder is the lack of video editing, but this is offset by the ease in actually putting your digital recording onto VHS. But despite the GR-DVL40 having better zoom...

I'll call it Mini-Camera!
Review of JVC GR DVL9600 by
CharlieJax
Advantages: Light, easy to carry, good zoom, large view screen, long lasting batteries avaliable, still and video in one
Disadvantages: no low light lux, no steady light, not the best anti-shake.
...'t plan to take a lot of low light videos then you will probably love this camera.
The only problem I had when I took my camera to Jamacia and the Bahamas was the rapid condinsation shut down the camera if you took it from your hotel room to outside to quickly. The way I corrected this was to put the camera near an open window for about ten minutes, then just outside for 10 minutes then all the way outside for a few more minutes to get it use the the change in temps.
The 4mb card that comes with the camera will store about 30+ images in the low image format, which isn't bad for a video camera.
If you want a great all around camera (which is cheaper than a good DV and a good digital still camera) then I would go with the JVC GR-DVL9800U (This one) :)
The camera's menu system is easy to learn and operate. The software that comes...
