...minutes to get here, it is well worth the time! Transport The main problem in Bangkok is traffic: there's plenty of transport, in fact, there might be too much of it! Traffic jams are everywhere, but these can be avoided by a death-defying ride in a tuktuk. Another option is the Bangkok Skytrain, which stops some 50 meters from the entrance of the Marriot. An excellent alternative to the taxi, although it won?t get you all the way to old town. Conclusion JW Marriott offers all you need to a very, very comfortable stay. The rooms are excellent, but the amenities are exceptional. The surroundings are great if you love the bustle of Bangkok, although it might not be your thing if you are looking for some peace and quiet....

...I stayed at the Marriott Royal County recently.The hotel is very easy to find. Local shops are only a five minute walk away as are local pubs and restaurants. This hotel also makes a good choice. One problem you might find is trying to find a parking space. This is an ideal location from which to explore Durham. There is an indoor heated pool. The service in the hotel was first class. ...The JW Marriott, Mirage City, Cairo is something more than a mirage. As we approached, two giant sandstone pillars loom to one side, replicas of ancient Egyptian construction, and I thought, "this could either be very tacky or very impressive". Well, I was very impressed by the hotel, the facilities, the design, but unfortunately the overall experience was a bit disappointing. Atleast, it was when I stayed there late in 2003. Sprawling around several swimming pools, a wave pool, an 18 hole golf course and half a dozen tennis courts, it is more than just a hotel. The clubhouse, a two minute walk from the hotel, offers gym and sauna facilities, a pro golf shop, gold driving range and a large bar with pool tables (put to good use during our stay!) Although I live in Bucharest, I stay in hotels here quite often as my husband (which is not Romanian) is being sent to Bucharest on business with accommodation paid and since we love hotels, every time it's like a holiday without having to go anywhere. We had booked through the Tesco Clubcard Deals scheme and intended to use the hotel as a base for visiting Edinburgh Zoo and Deep Sea World. Location The hotel is located on the western edge of Edinburgh, on Glasgow Road, a mere two miles from the airport, and only 4 miles from Edinburgh city centre. It has ample free on-site parking and is just off the A8. It is also only 5 minutes walk from the Gyle Shopping Centre. The hotel is well located and transfer time from the airport (Hamburg) is under 20 minutes or so with taxi fares also being under 20Euros (£13-£15). Just outside o f the hotel you will find a glittering array of upmarket shops and small boutiques and the hotel is located in a very quiet area and all of the rooms are exceptionally quiet. ...I was so excited about going to Copenhagen that I never really gave much thought to the hotel because that's my dad's department! He sorts out all our flights and accommodation when we go on holiday (and he always does a good job too!) So when he said we were going to stay in a Marriott hotel, I just trusted his judgement and focused all my excitement on what we were going to do once we got to Copenhagen. ...Durham Marriot Hotel Royal County Old Elvert, Durham DH1 3JN A BIT OF SCENE SETTING: This hotel is part of the Marriott chain but is an old hotel which was once the home of Elizabeth Bowes an ancestor of the Queen Mother. Apparently it was often visited when it was privately owned by Edward VII when he was up in Durham. It has had quite a large series of extensions and now boasts 150 bedrooms, some of which are suites and family rooms all and have en suite bathrooms ( As you might expect in a hotel I would have thought). This is a four star hotel right in the centre of Durham so perfect for a city break as you can park your car in the hotel (complimentary) car park and walk round the city which is very compact and just a hop over the road from the hotel.
