K850i : WORTH THE MONEY!?
Advantages: 5 megapixel camera and great features, touch screen!
Disadvantages: media center can be troublesome, fingerprint and smudge magnet!
...SONY ERICSSON K850i
After the fast selling and extremely popular K800i and K810i mobile phones Sony Ericsson had a tough job improving on them. To improve on the older models they basically took there great design and system layout of the previous versions, slapped a 5 mega pixel camera and a media center and a few more extras and you get the New K850i mobile phone. However with a pay as you go price of around £300, is the phone worth it?
THE PHONE
One of the requirements for a mobile phone to have is the ability to be able to phone people! Surprise! many people forget that no matter how many features a mobile phone has, the most important feature is that it can phone people without a problem and that the reception and voice quality is good. If not, then you might as well have just bought a digital camera or mp3 player...

Shiny Happy K850i
Advantages: A very smart non-Smart phone
Disadvantages: Need workarounds for non-pc users
...There is so much about the K850i to be excited by; the 5MP camera, the touch screen, the shiny black finish and thanks to a special offer from O2 a whole 2GP of memory card. Then there are the buts: I couldn't get the touch screen bits to work and the shiny black went all smeary. I wondered whether I'd made the right choice, but since I am never wrong, ever, I knew I had to give it time.
I should state up front that my old phone was a K800i so a) compatibility was never going to be an issue and b) I'd had 18 months to discover workarounds for some of the functions
Having shoved the doubts aside I got down to setting up my new phone.
I'd remembered to save all my contacts to my sim before I took it out of my old phone so Contacts was sorted straight away.
O2 sent me my wap settings as soon as the sim was...

K850i Cyber-shot
Advantages: Excellent camera and great features.
Disadvantages: Thick and heavy.
...The Sony Ericsson K850i is one of the best camera phone which a wide variety of great features.
First of all I will talk about the camera in this phone which is its best feature because it is not any ordinary camera it is a whopping 5 megapixel cyber-shot camera with automatic lens cover, xenon flash, 16x digital zoom, auto focus and image stabilizer which gets it the five stars. It also has many other features which come with the camera, like Photo Fix, Best Pic, Photo Blogging and Red Eye Reduction.
The second best thing about this phone it that it records videos in which you can have Video Stabiliser and video zoom where you can zoom into the video while it playing, now that's a cool feature. It is a 3G phone so you can make or receive video calls.
Like all other phones K850i can also be used for sending SMS and MMS but it...

k850, reasonably small with tricky buttons
Advantages: 5 megapixel camera with xenon flash, bluetooth, flight mode, 3G
Disadvantages: Small & difficult to use buttons
...most of the better ones cost over £250. e.g. the NOKIA N95.
There is a downside to visiting another country to buy a phone as you obviously have to pay for travel expenses, hotel expenses. etc. But if you want a high spec phone with a brilliant camera, then i suggest you buy the k850i. Wait for the price to go down a little bit and look around a while before you go out and buy the k850i.
I give the phone a rating of 8/10 or 4 stars....

O-K850i gets the OK!
Advantages: Forward thinking, multi-media phone, excellent camera
Disadvantages: Masculine look
....
Since that time Sony Ericsson have split the market with their brand of mobile technology, concentrating on the mp3 market with their "W series" , and on the Digital Photography market with the "K Series".
Since the K750i, over 3 years ago, Sony have since introduced the K800i and K810i as advancements in this series, upgrading the camera to 3.2 megapixels and further improving upon the styling and inbuilt software on the phones.
The K850i:
The K850 is the first Sony Ericsson to feature a 5 megapixel camera, and again came along after the likes of Samsung and Nokia releasing them onto the market. (N.B. 5 Megapixels is currently the highest quality inbuilt digital camera technology available to mobile phones).
In terms of design, Sony seem to be following the stylistics of their PDA phones (W900 and W950i) with the keys being far...

K850i - Overall Unbiased Review
Advantages: Camera, Auto-Rotate, Sound Quality, Spacious Buttons, Battery, Look & Feel
Disadvantages: Heat responding buttons, General software, constant problems
...I bought the K850i from Carphone Warehouse on contract with O2 when it was first released.
I liked the look of the phone, the feel (thickness) and the heat sensetive pads. After having a little play on the phone before argreeing to purchase it I realised there were no differences in terms of software in comparison to any other Sony Ericsson phone. However, that was a good thing, it was simple to understand and easy to use.
Great! I went ahead and bought the phone along with the contract.
I had only had the mobile phone for a few weeks (about 3) when I realised it started lagging and pausing. Effectively it would stop working for about 10 seconds then resume again, the same as a computer frezzes I was having the same problem. I tried looking for a solution on the internet but after reading on forums and other reviews I...

K850i: great phone! but let down by the touch buttons...
Advantages: camera, easy to use
Disadvantages: touch buttons
...My experience with this phone was a real rollercoaster, the features that it is gifted with won me over but there were moments where i wanted to throw it at a wall and set it on fire.
Lets start with the bits i like...
I love the camera, the picture is always crystal clear and the flash means that you can take a picture day or night. the amount of options available on the camera setting mean that if you are really into your photos then you can set the camera accordingly. i especially love the post photo editing (PhotoDJ) which allows you to give your pictures those little finishing touches without having to load it on to the computer.
As with all sony ericssons, the K850i is very easy to operate. The layout of the entire phone is perfect and instinctive to use. Maybe i feel like this because i always have sony ericssons and i...

K850i - 5mpxl Enigmaphone
Advantages: Build quality, battery life, MP3 playback
Disadvantages: Buggy, firmware issues, camera problems
...The Sony Ericsson K850i Cybershot cameraphone is advertised and heralded as a top-level camera packaged inside a modern and user-friendly phone.
The handset, sadly, does not live up to these promises. The camera, while 5 megapixel in size, suffers from some niggling complaints that damage the overall experience. For one, the in-built xenon flash is far too powerful, meaning that low-light shots are either washed-out (too close) or dark (too far away) - the difference between these two is very small, and it's very difficult to get around this. Aside from that, frequent firmware problems have caused many users (including my own) handset to stop working - the camera cover, while a great idea for protecting the lens, refusing to open when a great potential shot is infront of you is frustrating to say the least.
As for the phone itself...

K850i - Great Camera, Great Games and Free Themes.
Advantages: Excellent Autofocus Camera - Beautiful Menu - Good selection of Games
Disadvantages: Very easily gets dirty. Occasional Battery Draining Issues
...The last three phones that I've owned have been Samsung Handsets. Prior to that I owned Nokia handsets. It's been about 7 years since I've purchased an Ericsson handset.
Since they merged with Sony, Ericsson's handsets have slowly been improving and finally they've launched a phone that really grabbed my attention.
Camera - For me, this was the main selling point of the phone. 5mp display. Autofocus. Bright Xenon Flash. MultiShot. Before I bought this I had a G600. I hated it, so returned it. If you take photos of your toddler, you'll hate the camera on the G600, but love the camera on the K850i. Autofocus allows me to capture the shots, and on the Ericsson, shots are taken very soon after i depress the shutter, meaning I get what I want. If that's not good enough, set it to take multiple pictures. It will buffer shots before...

Sony Ericsson k850i
Advantages: 5MP Camera, Nice lighting and design, Responsive UI, Plenty of features
Disadvantages: Inbox can slow down, Firmware updates wipe your contacts and inbox (unless you back up)
...Continuing the K series of impressive camera phones by sony-ericsson, the K850i is a stylish candy bar phone with a 5.0 megapixel camera.
Firstly the phone itself, much like previous phones in the k series of sony ericsson phones the k850i is a candy bar phone. At about 17mm thick and 102mmx48mm length and width it's hardly the thinnest phone i've ever seen but it fits in pockets easily and although it is around 118grams it isn't too heavy. In terms of every day use i'd say its not too heavy to be irritating and not too light to think it's missing from your pocket. The design on the phone is very slick, with blue LED's for the camera function, a nice sizeable screen and a big lens on the back of the phone it becomes obvious that this phone is all about the function.
Overall not the smallest, thinnest phone but an acceptable size...
