On this tour were 44 people from different walks of life, and we got on well with all of them. This made a great atmosphere, especially in the hotels. Thomas Cook have a holiday manager with you from your arrival at Heathrow airport, right through your tour until you arrive back at Heathrow. You are treated to Executive lounge facilities at the airport until your flight is called. Included are free drinks and nibbles. The tour of Canada commences in Montreal. Blame (Air) Canada

Advantages: decent service, good flight itinerary
Disadvantages: pervading sense of incompetence, baggage disasters

...I've just got back from an exhausting but cracking holiday to the States, and strange as it may seem to write an op straight away, I find myself in that jet-lagged, zombified state in which little else is possible, and I want to write about my treatment at the hands of Air Canada before I forget the fine, scintillating details... A few misses, mainly hits with Air Canada

Advantages: Good food, timely, good service
Disadvantages: Not as many perks as promised!

...Air Canada On my recent trip to Toronto from Manchester (sse my review of the Hilton Toronto!), I decided to fly using the direct service form Manchester to Toronto. This direct route operates daily departing Manchester at 11.35 and arriving mid-afternoon. It departs Toronto for the return flight at 10pm arriving back in Manchester mid-morning. During the summer (and peak tourist) months, the airline adjusts its two class system from Business and Economy and Premium Economy and Economy. With basic economy flights starting at around £350.00 & taxes, we opted for the premium economy flights at a price of £500.00 & taxes (approx £612.00 per person flying). ...The first time I stepped on Canadian ground was at CALGARY INT. AIRPORT. CALGARY INT. AIRPORT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The airport is appropriate 17km far away from Downtown Calgary and it is very easy to get there. You just take the Deerfoot Trail (Highway 2) and then there are many signs which show the right way! The official abbreviation for the airport is YYC. The semicircular terminal consists of the sections A-D. There are signs that show where the check in of the each airline is. You can find Air Canada and their partners for instance in A, while the low cost airline WestJet is situated in D. There was some work going on in C, however it was so shielded, that one didn?t saw anything from the work and you also heard nothing. The airport has three runways. In 2oo3 about 8 million passengers were checked through and 663ooo of them...

...Just recently i went on holiday to the US and flew with Air Canada via Toronto......Despite mixed stories about the quality of the service, I believe that Air Canada really can provide service with a smile and I would not hesitate to fly with them on future trips. From the start I was greeted with a smile and given all the instructions I needed....Once on board I found that the interiors were pleasant enough(that's not to say that they couldn't be improved). If anything I felt more than looked after on this flight and that could have become annoying if I had travelled any longer. The meals were frequent and it seemed the flight attendants were constantly keeping my glass full - with orange juice and water of course! Onboard movies included Chicken Run and to my surprise, the first of the Rocky films (I chose to listen to...

New Adventures In Unagi

Advantages: Great sushi, excellent service and good value for money
Disadvantages: Might have to book in advance to get a table

.... CONCLUSION I have to tip my hat to Ms Larsbaby as she obviously had better instincts than me when it came to this place. The sushi was excellent, the service friendly and the atmosphere convivial. Definitely worth the visit; make sure you try the Unagi. At only $26 (about £13) this was a bargain and yes, I can't work out what happened to the extra Unagi either! One of the worst airports in the world

Advantages: clean, good security
Disadvantages: long queues at immigration, customs, security and baggage claim, not much shopping or dining

...terribly big, it is easy to find ground transportation. To reach the downtown airport bus, just exit the terminal and look for a huge pink sign reading "Downtown Express". A return/roundtrip ticket is under CAD$29 per person (approximately £14.50). If you are too tired, you can take a taxi from the taxi stands - but you should expect to pay around CAD$60 (approximately £30) for the trip downtown. There is also the option to travel downtown for a mere CAD$2.75 (approximately £1.50), by finding the shuttle bus to the either Kipling or St Lawrence subway station and then hopping on the subway. I strongly recommend using the downtown bus service - as it stops at most major downtown hotels and is a lot less stressful than the subway. The first name on the cover is Carol Shields, she´s the half one, born and brought up in Chicago, she lived in Canada from 1957 until her death in 2003, the second name is Blanche Howard, a ´full´ Canadian from Vancouver. This book isn´t the first with more than one author (´Yeats Is Dead!´ was written by 15(!) Irish writers) and is therefore not the greatest sensation since the beginning of literature as the publishing house Fourth Estate from London seems to think. The book starts with a Foreword by Blanche Howard in which she tells the reader on 8 1/2 pages how the book was composed. Who wants to know?
