...Wow! I've just come back from a week in Kos staying in Kardamena and I can honestly say I had the best week of my life! Kardamena is the most lifely area of Kos and I would highly reccomend it to anyone who wants a holiday with fantastic nightlife. So much so me and my friend plan on returning to Kos next summer to work for three months! Yet even though the town is lively at night and filled with young people dont let this put you off as the music turns off at twelve (the atmosphere stays though!) so it won't disturb you. There are two fantastic clubs in Kardamena Status and Starlight which hold both foam and water parties at cheap prices. Kefalos, Kos, Greece

Advantages: cheap to eat out, nice weather and clear blue sea and plenty of water sports
Disadvantages: People of Kos don't seem to like tourists, Windy

...Me and my boyfriend went to Kefalos in Kos this year on our first holiday together. It took us a while to decide if this was where we wanted to go but for the price we couldn't refuse. We paid £179.00 each for a week self catering. We stayed at Kefalos Studios. Our Apartment was very basic, had a shower room, 2 single beds, kitchen and a balcony. Basic but nice. The only disadvantage here was that there wasn't a pool with the apartment but we only had to walk a few yards to use the public swimming pool which was very clean. By the pool there was also a 24 hour supermarket which was very handy (especially for my boyfriend who got up late one night and decided he wanted a packet of Haribo!!!!!!). We spent most of our time on the beach. The sand was way too hot to lie on and the sun was very hot so I would definetly advise you to hire a sun...

Cooling Breeze is Bliss in Kos heat

Advantages: breeze keeps you cool, you don't notice the intense heat
Disadvantages: watch you don't burn, the wind is deceptive: use you sun cream more often. IT IS HOT in KOS

...Did I say breeze? Do you know, I didn?t realize how strong the wind would be ? you know, the wind that blows throughout the summer months amongst the islands of the Dodecanese. As I write, I am sat out on the balcony of my apartment on the island of Kos. We have just berthed in the harbor at Kardamena and, today the wind is blowing fierce and strong. Unbelievably, fierce as the wind is, it caresses the skin like velvet ? despite its power! The sky is an intense baby blue, without so much as a hint of a cloud and the temperature is building as the morning progresses. Yesterday was an intense 32o C ? and I have great hopes that the temperatures today will match that with ease. Yesterday we were moored off a beach near San Antonio. Varkas Appartments at Kardamena on Kos Island

Advantages: close to town, close to beach, spotlessly clean, adequate for cheap holiday
Disadvantages: no life, no air conditioning, very basic facilities, bit noisy in the early morning

Varkas Apartments often seems to get a bad press so I thought it was about time their review status was updated: we have recently returned from staying there and, from the experience of myself and my husband, we believe many of those adverse comments are vastly unwarranted. Kardamena hosted a great holiday for us

Advantages: Cheap food and beer. Great weather. Loads to do
Disadvantages: Night flights. Wine quality variable.

...We took a 2 week holiday in Kos last May (2000) We stayed in Kardamena. In short, it was the best holiday we've ever had! We booked it through Co-Op Travelcare and paid £270 each (inc insurance). The tour operator was Kosmar and we stayed at the Cleopatra Apartments. Kardamena is a lovely resort. It has a good mixture of everything, restaurants, sports, bars, clubs (only a few and they have to shut their doors at 12.00am to keep music noise in!) and almost guaranteed weather. My partner and I enjoyed our fortnight in Kos so much that we have booked to go back this May to the same apartment with some friends! ...This review is only information I have from my recent holiday in Greece, Kos. Returning back from Kos, a few weeks ago was heartbreaking! I only wish now, that I had never come home. I stayed in the Imperial hotel in Kos town for 2 weeks with Thomas Cook. Only 2 minute walk from all the restaurants and bars! I shall start by telling you about my thoughts on the Imperial Hotel. Arriving at the hotel, my friend and I thought we could not have come to a worse place. It was 3 o'clock in the morning and the way we had been taken by the transfer coach, it looked as though we were in the middle of nowhere! However, the hotel looked lovely! Kos - an island of two halves!!

Advantages: Some lively parts & some very quiet parts!Rent a quadbike!

It seemed on paper to be the perfect mix - an island which had some unspoilt and beautiful parts, with a busy centre bursting with nightlife and daytime activities. After some extensive looking we chose a holiday with MyTravel, through the ever-useless Lastminute.com. The holiday in total came to £200 each, including flights, transfers, accomodation and insurance. A bargain! KOS OVERALL

...where do i start with kos... ive been there 5 times now, from the age of 16 - 21... and i honestly have to say that there is something in kos for everyone. having stayed in kardamena every time i have visited kos, and worked in kardamena in 2006, i have some excellent memories and lots of friends there. kardamena however, was but a base for me, and i have made time to visit all of the small towns and beaches around the island. from the little taverna in tingaki, to the busstling scandanavian scene in kos town you are made as welcome as you would ever wish to be in kos, with the locals welcoming you into their lives and showing a genuine interest for you and your friends/family who accompany you. working in kos is great, and a great way to make new friends, and pass the summer months if you are a student, or just get sick...

KOS - Isle of Views

Advantages: great beaches, historic places, good nightlife

...I've been to five or six Greek islands, but Kos is still my favourite. Kos is one of the most beautiful and sunniest islands in the Aegean Sea. It is the third biggest of the Dodecanese (meaning twelve in greek) Islands. It has historic monuments, beautiful weather virtually all year round and it's white sand beaches are lapped by crystal clear water. Am I painting an enticing picture so far? Kos Town is the Island's capital and there you can get away from beachlife for a while and steep yourself in some Greek history by visiting the historic monuments. Kos it's so beautiful

Advantages: beautiful beaches, laid back, cheap to eat out
Disadvantages: nightlife only in resorts and hotels

...I’d never been to any of the Greek Islands before we visited Kos three years ago. We stayed in Kardamena, a small resort – a former quiet fishing port, but it has been transformed in recent years into a fairly lively place with good nightlife and a fantastic beach. Usually when we go away on holiday, I want to relax, with this is just the place to do that. During the day it’s laid back, certainly not too crowded. With a small centre to the resort and the usual restaurants and bars. But you come her for the beach – it’s lovely with clean white sand stretching out into the Aegean sea. Kos itself, is one of the consistently sunniest islands in the Aegean.. It is the third biggest of the Dodecanese Islands.
