Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. Advantages: Classy with a capital C, items for all occasions, easy to find an outfit or separates, staff are helpful
Disadvantages: expensive, sizes irregular, fragile

In Manchester (my almost local retail paradise) there are now 3 stores, one in the-triangle centre, on in Selfridges at the Trafford Centre and the main outlet on King Street. I only started visiting the Karen Millen stores this Christmas after a friend of mine purchased a stunning dress for half price in their January sale - lucky one off you may think, but this is not the case. KM holds regular sales (not sure when exactly but there is one on now!!!)and each time there is stock reduced by up to 50%. The clothing sold ranges from basic jumpers and vest tops (similar items can be found in the gap, 1/3 of the price but you can tell these are of better quality and material) to full on party regalia so there is bound to be something suitable and stunning, and more often than not, many more items you will fall...

Young Finds Love

Advantages: Excellent collection of songs, slicker production than previous albums

...For me this is one of Neil Young's best recordings, if not his best recording. Neil Young is an acclaimed singer songwriter in the folk/ country/ rock medium and has a career spanning 40 years. This record was recorded in 1970 and is a slight departure for Young as it is on the whole a sentimental and ballad ladened album. This is not to undersell it as these are also some of the strongest songs that Young has written, especially the title track with it's imaginative and dreamlike lyrics. This at the time was a real departure for Young and the song was very symptomatic of the times. The album is not all balladry though, although most of it's strongest cuts fall within this. The main exception to this rule would be 'Southern Man' where Young gets to grips with a real rollicking and rocking protest song. it's lyrically potent...

...I must admit I am not the healthiest of people around but I do like to vary my diet. I'm not a fussy eater either and willing to try alomst anything. I try include fish in to my diet at least twice a week if not more even though I am not a great lover of fish itself. On a few occasions now I have purchased a Young's Mariner's Pie, firstly because fish itself is a pain to cook and secondly because I want fish in my diet. Young's Mariner's Pie is basically another one of them frozen ready meals. It is packed with succulent pieces of fish fillets in a creamy parsley sauce with sweetcorn and is topped with potato, cheese and crumble.
