Cool Scanner
Review of Epson Perfection 1640SU by
andycharger
Advantages: Great quality
Disadvantages: Expensive
...After finally commiting my little 600 DPI scanner to the scrapheap, I realised I needed quality scanning at a reasonable cost.
One that could provide me with a decent picture grain and quality.
With modern download speeds, internet pictures can afford to be a bit bigger in Kb size for the sake of extra quality.
So I decided to purchase a `named` scanner with some good features.
The Epson Perfection 1650 seemed as good as any.
Sure you can pick up a budget scanner for £30 but at just over £100, this is by far the best quality scanner on the market for the money.
Looks/build.
------------
It looks like any normal scanner with its grey/tan body and lift up lid but it seems more sturdy than most out there. The lid is more rigid and has a feel of quality during operation.
Installation.
-------------
Installation speed is quite quick. Its...

to fast or is it to slow????????
Review of NTL - Broadband by
stallion1984
Advantages: Unlimited technical help
Disadvantages: Slow transfer speed
...Previously had NTL dial up internet connection which was beginning to show it's speed limitations. Also I now needed to free up the phone line for other family members whilst I was using the net. I selected 600Kb broadband as the best value choice for me.
Installation was easy since an NTL engineer visits your home to install cable and make the connections to your set-top TV digibox (if you don't opt for a separate modem). Installation wasn't the most discrete I've ever seen but I'll put that right when I next decorate. The engineer doesn't make the actual connection to the computer since there is a procedure to be followed when you install the connection software which NTL provide. I actually had a problem with the installation program and I couldn't actually make the software load properly at first, however a call to their technical...

Tesco Internet Access
Review of Everything that starts with T ... by
KEPP
Advantages: Quite Cheap
Disadvantages: Slow Connection
.... Normally I would be downloading at 5 or so Kilobytes (1KB = 1024BYTES)
The general connection speed is low all day currently I am connected at 29333 Kb my modem is 56Kb. I have been as low as 19 Kb.
In general I would say that Tesco Internet is not really too bad. It is quite cheap and despite being slow it isn’t snail slow!
You do get 6 free e-mail accounts: yourname@tesco.net. Which i think seems in-ferior to freeserve's yourname@yourname.fsnet.co.uk which was less "billboardy"
As far as I know you donot get any webspace.
I would say that if you are still on dial-up or even broadband you should get Tesco, mainly for the price. It is the cheapest I have found (although I have never looked at the prices for AOL but I will not go with them!)...

Review of A4Tech IP-Talky Keyboard KIP-800 - keyboard by
Nick_Endeavour
Advantages: Lattop-like keys, plenty of hotkeys, integrated skype phone, extra jacks
Disadvantages: The USB to CMI swtich takes time to update
...I was browsing the net the other day in search of ways of spending my heard earned cash and came across this little jewel.
Thought it be a bit of a novelty and looked good on the pictures so decided that I would take my chances and spend the £23 that was required.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Unpacked it today when it arrived at work and boy I couldn't wait till my lunch break to unpack it.
To tell the truth I was slightly disillusioned when I opened the box as the phone on the picture on the website (www.aria.co.uk) looks like proper size phone but this one looks like its midget cousin.
I suppose it was my fault not calculating in my head that for a phone to fit in the breadth of a KB it must be as broad (or wide, depending on how you look) as the KB. Daft me there...
Looking at the box and I noticed that the KB has two 3.5mm jacks...

Well, in order to enjoy this screensaver, just turn on some music or songs you love and watch the fishes swimming. Don't forget to turn off the lights in the room. Now you can enjoy it!
Get it now!
Just make sure to visit www.serenescreen.com to obtain a free download of this application. The file to be downloaded is not a big one, just about 1,132 KB (a zip file). It is also easy to install. Just need your creation in the settings, especially to arrange the composition of fishes to be displayed.
The price of the registered version is $19.95. I think it is not expensive...

Earning Coins While Playing Game Offline
Review of Hercules: Action Game (PC) by
djohan
Advantages: Killing time and for fun.
Disadvantages: Wasting time, because actually time is very valuable.
...Do you want to be Hercules? Disney’s Hercules Action Game will bring you to exprerience the great adventure of Hercules. Walking, running, avoiding attacks, jumping, finding secreets and beating enemies (some of them are ancient creatures) with various weapons are really interesting and challenging features found in this adventure game. Nice sceneries, such as green field, hilly landscape, lakes and rivers also beautify the game.
Minimum System Requirements
This classic game does not require a sophisticated PC. Here are the minimum specifications.
Pentium processor, 90 MHz or faster
Microsoft Windows 95
16 MB RAM
57 MB free disk space
Microsoft-compatible mouse
DirectX-compatible 256-color VESA or PCI local bus video card
DirectX-compatible 16-bit sound card

Excellent keyboard for a touch typist
Review of Microsoft Natural MultiMedia Keyboard - keyboard by
TikkiRo
Advantages: Plenty of programable keys
Disadvantages: None I've found yet :-)
...If, like me, you do a lot of typing and also like to have music in the background while doing so, this is the keyboard for you. It's a slightly neater footprint than the internet natural KB which I had before it. Again all your important keys are to hand but this time it feels like there are less of them because the music ones are organised in one section in the middle. My only gripe with that layout is that the volume buttons are right in the middle of the other more used ones and aren't always the easiest to hit quickly with the way they're laid out. However, unlike my previous board this one at least does operate fully with the latest version of my media player (non standard).
All the hotkeys are programmable which is useful and the Function keys double up as mail command ones e.g. Reply/Send/Fwd etc which can be very useful...
