Sony KDL-32P3020 Review

Advantages: Sharp High Quality Picture, good overal performance.
Disadvantages: Not high spec, only entry level.

Best TV for under £500

Advantages: As good as any TV this size
Disadvantages: None whatsoever

...I am not expert on TVs but as far as I can tell, having bought this one for £420 and having used it fo six weeks, it as good as any TV I have ever seen. Choosing a 32 inch TV these days is not easy because there are so many different brands around. They start at about £320 for the cheapest models from some relatively less well known maufacturers (Teco, Sagem etc), ranging up to £900 for the top of the range Philips 32PFL9632 Ambilight. My question is; why would anyone bother forking out that much when this Sony Bravia looks great, delivers perfect performance and has all the features you could want (within reason)? Admittedly, it does not illuminate the wall behind the TV for added effect like the Ambilight does, but is that worth an extra £500? I don't think so. SAGEM MW3020

Advantages: small, spacey looking, cheapish
Disadvantages: not much function, out of date

...Already a sort of dinosaur compared to the phones that you can buy now, the sagem MW3020 is a great little phone, it simply doesnt have all the high tech pic stuff. It isnt a picture phone. Doesnt have a camera and cannot receive MMS. You can go online, but its fiddly and slow. The shape of the phone is good, it has a waist where you can grip it easily, and it isnt so small that you look like a div trying to talk into your hand because noone can see the phone there LOL This one was £69.99 from the Carphonewarehouse although you can get them a lot cheaper nowadays, around £30 - £50. On pay as you go, you get all the usual stuff, charger, sim, manual etc plus some free airtime. On the vodafone network, the airtime is easy to get, and it seems to be the best network suited to this little phone. It only has 3 games on it...

Sony KDL-46W5500 - awesome LCD TV with stunning pictures

Advantages: Stunning pictures, loaded with features, useful extra connection options

Sony KDL-40W4500

Advantages: Class leading HD pictures, Well above average SD pictures, 100hz technology
Disadvantages: Even though this set is cheap at £850, £850 is still a lot of money.

...still produce good quality SD pictures. I considered the Sony KDL-40W4000 for quite some time. However even though this is towards the top end of Sony's range, (only the flagship X range is significantly better), it still doesn't produce a SD picture that I find good enough. On the other hand, the HD performance of the W4000 is amongst the best in it's class. In time I will be watching more and more HD, so it is also very important to me to get class leading HD pictures. Luckily Sony seem to agree. They have come up with this, the KDL-40W4500. It's basically the W4000 with some enhancements. The main ones being 100hz scanning and improved motion control. The HD picture is improved over the W4000, making it the equal of sets in the £2000-£3000 range. But more importantly for me, the SD picture is vastly improved over the W4000...
