Review of Kefalos Beach Tourist Village, Paphos

Kefalos and the Pantheon, just heaven.

Advantages: Up the hill and very quiet.
Disadvantages: None that we could find

...We have holidayed in Greece for the past 16 years and visited many islands. This year it was Kos. I saw Kefalos advertised for £250 each for 2 weeks, and as we wanted to do some island hopping at the same time thought that this was a good price. We were booked into the Hotel Pantheon in Kefalos,. We arrived at 4-00am in the heat of 23 degrees to be shown to our rooms by Manos. Bed was the greatest need at that time so off to sleep we went. We woke up some time later to the view that you see attached. The Pantheon is run by Manos and Janet, husband and wife and Babbis and Maria his brother and sister in law. The hospitality was second to none. As the Pantheon is on a hill, with views to the front of Nisyros and from the back Kalymnos, it is a little steep to walk, but you can manage if you take your time. I add that there...

Review of Pantheon Apartments, Kos

I stayed in the Hermes!

Advantages: Great view, friendly owners and plenty of sun beds!
Disadvantages: Steep hill.

...Last year I went to the sunny island of Kos. This fairly large island has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world in my opinion. Even though I don't like sand I do love to watch the sea so sitting by a taverna while the sun sets on the horizon was lovely. Also the beaches weren't too crowded either! The Hotel I went to Kos with my family including my mam's parents. We stayed in Hermes Hotel in Kefalos which is built into a hill. It isn't a suitable place to take people with walking disabilities. Lots of people complained because of the hill but I found it fairly easy to walk up and down each night after a couple of games of The Alphabet Game (don't ask? my mam's idea). The owners of the hotel were very friendly and even told us our Greek names. We were all amused by our Greek names because they basically stayed the same...

Kefalos, all you need to know

Advantages: A long way from Kardemna
Disadvantages: Two weeks is never long enough

...I must say I have read this review on Kefalas and thought that I had been to a different place altogether this year. Robert and I traveled to Kos September 07 and only came back Oct 07. As we stayed in Kefalos at the Pantheon just along from the big Club Med, (well up the hill from there). We had wonderful views over the whole of the bay and out over to Nysros and 4 other islands. The sea was so blue for the whole of the 2 weeks and the sky was even bluer. The sun shone from morning till night and as we were lucky enough to have the full moon in the evening it was magical. Whilst there we visited the old town of Kefalos with it's ruins and old windmill. To walk from the harbor up takes about 25 minuets but there are steps 100 plus in two sections. Kefalos, Kos, Greece

Advantages: cheap to eat out, nice weather and clear blue sea and plenty of water sports
Disadvantages: People of Kos don't seem to like tourists, Windy

...Me and my boyfriend went to Kefalos in Kos this year on our first holiday together. It took us a while to decide if this was where we wanted to go but for the price we couldn't refuse. We paid £179.00 each for a week self catering. We stayed at Kefalos Studios. Our Apartment was very basic, had a shower room, 2 single beds, kitchen and a balcony. Basic but nice. The only disadvantage here was that there wasn't a pool with the apartment but we only had to walk a few yards to use the public swimming pool which was very clean. By the pool there was also a 24 hour supermarket which was very handy (especially for my boyfriend who got up late one night and decided he wanted a packet of Haribo!!!!!!). We spent most of our time on the beach. The sand was way too hot to lie on and the sun was very hot so I would definetly advise you to hire a sun...

Kefalos Beach Village

Advantages: Sunny, value for money, range of activities and trips
Disadvantages: Food wasn't as good as expected

...I have been to Paphos in cyprus twice, and I can't recommend it enough. I first went when I was 12 and stayed in the phatheon (I think that how you spell it)Beach hotel. I don't remember much apart from it being very hot and taking part in the kids club production of Grease! However last year I revisited Paphos aand stayed at a new complex which was only completed in March. I stayed at the kefalos Beach village. When I arrived, at about 2am, my case was taken to my apartment and I was taken in a Golf Buggy.This was welcomed as I was very sleepy and didn't want the hassle of trying to find my apartment in the middle of the night when all I wanted to do was get to bed. This completely surprised me because the hotel wasn't expensive to stay in. The animation team were really friendly and even walked around the hotel during the day...

Hotel Zeus - Perfect

Advantages: Excellent location, Very welcoming!
Disadvantages: Bathrooms a little cramped but this is common place in Greek hotels

...We visited Kefalos for the first time in June, and have just booked to return. We stayed at the Zeus and will be doing so again in October. ROOMS The rooms are spotlessly clean with a large balcony or terrace (we had a terrace). On the website it does mention that some rooms are "semi-basement" we had one of these and it just meant that the wall of our terrace was only slightly higher than ground level. But it was a lovely sun trap in the afternoon. Bathrooms aren't huge, which is to be expected, but they are perfectly adequate. Beds very perfectly fine, not the luxury you would expect from a more pricey hotel but perfectly adequate. You can always ask for an exrtra pillow if one is not enough. STAFF All of the hotel staff were excellent Zak and his family will do evrything they can to ensure you have a great holiday...

It really is paradise

Advantages: Gorgeous island, lovely people, paradise
Disadvantages: Perhaps not as suitable for families

...Kos is absolutely stunning. Let's put it this way if I could only holiday in one place for the rest of my life then it would have to be Kos. It's an island that has a bit to offer to all holiday makers whatever your taste or preference, although not so much catering for younger families as some of the Spanish resorts. There are 4 main resorts offering different attractions for different people. There are other places on the island but more difficult to find in brochures. Kos Town - Lovely place, plenty of bars, restaurants, clubs and lots and lots of shops. Tingaki - Near Kos Town, plenty of bars etc but quieter than the town. Kefalos - My personal favourite, offers plenty of watersport activities for those interested, again plenty of places to eat and drink but not aimed at the younger "clubbing" market. Great for a cheap holiday

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: late night/early morning flights

...We have just returned (October) from a week in the resort of Kefalos on the island of Kos. We booked the holiday online about two months ago and we cannot argue about the price, £375 for two adults including flights and transfers. The flight was with Air Malta flying from Bristol. We stayed at the self catering "Anastasia Apartments". The Apartments were described as 4 Star. I think this was pretty generous - on a facilities/decor basis. On a location basis, however, the apartments were very well situated at the end of the bay next to the marina. The beach was just ten meters from our balcony and the sea is beautiful for swimming and snorkelling (take bread to feed the fish). The accomodation was very basic but clean and adequate. Towels and bedding was changed once during the week. We didn't exactly expect British standard...
