...This bed and breakfast is situated close to the bus station and just five minutes walk from the very centre of town. We arrived in Turku by train and walked the route in ten minutes so the location is good yet still quiet. Look hard, it's not easy to spot. The doorway looks like all the doorways on the block which is full of shops and offices. There is an entry buzzer to let you in; once you check in you'll have a key for this door. The B and B is up a couple of flights and there's no lift. It's not too bad but people with mobility problems should be aware of this. We hadn't booked in advance but there was a room available. It offers a good range of items and always has some great buys in sale season (after Christmas and the summer) Location? Kendals is located on Deansgate and is right in the heart of the city and near to other shopping areas. Within a five minute walk of Kendals you will find other massive names such as Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and Marks and Spencer. If you are driving form outside of Manchester then Deansgate is well signposted once you approach the city centre and Kendals is clearly visible. ...We recently had a night away in Melksham, near Chippenham, to attend the wedding of family friends and - as is usual with these friends of ours - they booked us into a local bed and breakfast and then (as usual) paid for our stay! After a mind-numbingly terrible journey down the M6 and then the M5 that took the best part of four hours, I must admit, I was hoping this bed and breakfast would at least be comfortable. I'm going to start at the end of my stay in order to give some background to Sandridge Tower which the proprietor Mrs. Woodhouse kindly filled us in with after breakfast before we left. Unfortunately noisy, hard bed and not enough parking

...Just stayed at the arches for the weekend, stayed in the green room which was nice and spacious with an ensuite. The room was lovely and clean and contained a fridge which was very useful. Unfortunately the B&B is situated on one of the main roads into st austell and next to the train line. It was noisy all night with the traffic going past. The mattress was so hard that my wife got back ache from it and I shoulder ache. There was car spaces for 3 cars and 4 rooms on offer. The car parking was also up a steep garden track where we appreciated taking the smaller of our two cars. I always use Sainsburys as a bench mark for breakfasts and this was below that standard. The hostess was quite sweet if a little loud, I would not be recommending this to a friend and will be looking for another guest house when I return to Cornwall....

...When you read about the idea for the theme of this bed and breakfast in the town of Hanko on Finland's Baltic coast, it does sound pretty exciting. The reality is a little different but all things considered this isn't a bad little place to stay. According to the guidebook we had, the place had a "golden age of Hollywood" theme - this turned out to be mostly photocopied black and white pictures of old movie stars on the doors of the rooms and a few dog eared ones in the room too. I don't like to sound mean but it would perhaps be better if they hadn't bothered. The location is not bad, five minutes from the bus and train station, another five minutes walk brings you to the town centre and another five to the harbour and beach. There is a supermarket and a pizza joint close by. The house is attractive - a pleasant white washed...

The linen was brilliant white, crisp and smelled very fresh. I have issues with skin allergies and find that the (I can only assume) cheaper detergents create havoc with my skin.
