Intergalactic Space Travel?

Advantages: A leisurely day
Disadvantages: repetative, boring for young children

...Having 3 weeks in Florida, we thought we had all the time in the world to cover every place we wanted to see. In reality, we struggled, and missed out on a lot of places. One place we didn?t miss though was the Kennedy Space Center. Located on the Atlantic Coast on Merritt Island, it took about an hour to reach in our 12 seater minibus from Kissimmee along the Beeline Expressway. The Space Center is well signposted, and you shouldn?t have any problem finding it. The Space Center is set in a rural area, and we played spot the alligator with the kids as they were getting bored. The alligators can be seen in the water at the side of the road as you drive on the Island. Parking was free, and spaces plentiful, although we did pick the last week in December to visit. The tickets cost us $27 for the adults, and $18 for the children...

During April 2001 I had my first visit to Florida and it was a necessity that I went to this site, as I have always been interested in space travel. The Apollo 11 mission of 1969 was a great experience to watch on tv, especially the lunar landing in The Sea Of Tranquility. On purchasing the ticket you get a colour tour-guide magazine worth $5.95. Included with this guide you also receive colour cards of parts of the complex and a typed schedule of Alan Shepard's ride in a spaceship. You can also buy tour tickets. One takes you on a guided coach tour of Cape Canaveral:Then and Now. The other is the Space Shuttle tour. I went on the Cape Tour, which was exhilirating. ...SPACE 1999 = Here we are again with another memorable sci-fi series from Gerry and Sylvia Anderson whose other 'Hits' included Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, Fireball XL5, Thunderbirds and UFO. Space 1999 was set on the Moon where a Moon base has been built and nuclear waste from the Earth was stored, but things are not well and soon the nuclear waste explodes blowing the moon out of earths orbit and sets it on a course out of the solar system. The series then follows the crew left alive the Alpha moon base as the travel around the universe and as they meet many strange aliens and come across other civilizations and weird planets. ...I have been to Center Parcs several times but hadn't been for a while and since my last visit it has altered a little but still just as much fun as I remembered it to be. Advantages: Great family holiday, perfect for kids, lovely natural setting, plenty to do
Disadvantages: Lodges can be shabby, you will wear yourself out with all the activity!

...Center Parcs is a resort type holiday where the aim is to enjoy a family holiday in natural surroundings. Accommodation is in self catering units, although there are plenty of restaurants available. The holiday can be as relaxing or as active as each individual chooses. There are plenty of optional activities available for those that want to keep busy or expand their horizons. The basic cost of the holiday includes accommodation and you then pay for any additional pursuits you wish to engage in. The main attraction for most families is the natural setting and almost total absence of cars. Apart from the checking in days of Monday and Friday no cars are allowed.
