...I took over a mortgage with my partner in 2005 following her messy divorce and our of desperation with all the debts her ex left her. We were directed to Kensington via a local Broker, which I have now learnt to be probably more to do with their high rate of commision to the broker and little to do with our own personal circumstances. The most they would offer us was £60,000 despite the value of the house being £30,000 more. This was largely due to the absolutey massacred state of my partners credit rating because of the joint finances the ex left her paying..... and the fact I was only on a modest full time wage (NHS!) By the time all the kinks were ironed out, including removal of a charge on the house thanks to the cursed ex, we were relatively happy to have settled, had enough left over for the rest of the double glazing...

Premier Inn Kensington

...Thanks for reading my review, I have done a full review of the Premier Inn London Kensington below however if you are simply interested in the advantages and disadvantages of the hotel I've placed a little summary at the bottom of the page. I'll start by saying this for the Premier Inn Kensington, either it does not cash in on big events such as West End Live, or it does not know about them. ...I recently visited London for a couple of days (Monday to Wednesday) and rather than sleeping on a friends sofa decided to try out a website I had seen reviewed on Ciao (priceline.co.uk). After trying the site a couple of times to see the variation in price I booked a 4 star hotel in the Kensington area for £41 (plus taxes etc). When the confirmation came through I was informed that the room I had booked was in the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum (for anyone who has never seen this site before I recommend reading some of the reviews on it, it will save you loads of money.). They will quite happily tell anyone who asks them that they dont care about customer service because as they see it anyone who is their customer does so because they have, and have no other choice, not because they choose to. People often use Kensington because they are loud and brash and manage to get the attention of very many brokers touting for the broker to give them the business if the client doesnt quite fir high-street lending criteria. The thing is though that these days there are about 20 different "sub-prime" lenders available, many of whom service the same clientele as Kensington, and most of which beat Kensington's rates. Disadvantages: 2 star hotel and it deserves them

...the corridor cupboard doors have a leatherette cladding, the ones on our corridor were very obviously peeling away from the doors and looked tatty. Our room door stuck and had to be slammed shut. The bathroom extractor fan did not work hence the peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling. Glazing was poor with lots of street noise able to come into the room. Lumpy pillows. Good bits. The breakfast was wholesome and fresh, the pork and leek sausages were lovely. The resaurant although looked clean felt sterile with no atmosphere. Maid service was good. Nice clean towels. Good location right opposite Kensington Palace and just along form Hyde Park. 15 minutes walk from Harrods and Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge. 2 minutes walk from Kensington High Street and Tube Station....

The second Kensington mouse

Advantages: Cool name (Mouse in a box \m/)
Disadvantages: Not as good as the ValuMouse, no scroll wheel

...So I sit at like the fourth PC I've been on over the past few days in my uni library, and come across yet a different mouse, this one again by Kensington. The same Kensington that have arguable made the greatest budget mouse of all time in the ValuMouse, but does "The mouse in the box" rival it's brother in arms. The look similar, both white, mouse shaped, 2 buttons, kensington written across above the buttons, but thats where the looks end. Well the first difference between the two it that this mouse is longer by about an inch and it's less "fat", so I'm guessing it was a basketball playing mouse before it retired to the desk job it now serves. This may seem trivial but it really doesn't fit the hand anywhere near as well as the Valumouse. The second difference design wise is both buttons have grooves on them but they don't feel...
