Messy Juicer
Review of Kenwood JE700 by
JamesDavidson
Advantages: Makes juice
Disadvantages: Makes a mess
...Ok, so imagine Christmas morning. Your parent buys you a juicer to add a bit of weight to your stocking. This time she should have just put coal in or something. Im not a bad reviewer but this was not up to standard. What do you look for in a juicer? Lots of juice from very little fruit and very little mess. What did I get? Very little juice, loads of fruit and im still cleaning the kitchen (well not really, but it is messy)
It does its job but I've definately seen better, I would recommend you go for something a little more expensive. The Kenwood Juicer is just not for me, maybe you will get on better with it but if I was you I would give this one a miss and look else where for a juicer. Sorry Kenwood but it just has not made the grade this time....

A good secondhand buy!
Review of Kenwood KA-5090R by
Voicecoil
Advantages: Good sound, ability to drive difficult loudspeaker loads
Disadvantages: Volume control not illuminated, difficult to see volume setting from any distance
...The KA-5090R is a very capable design using Kenwood's (Sanken) TRAITR transistors. It was one of Kenwood's last stereo integrated amplifiers before they withdrew from the domestic audio market in the UK.
It offers 65 watts RMS X 2 minimum (90 watts X 2 typical), has full remote control and features independent source and record input selection (you can listen to one source while recording another).
The appearance is kept neat by placing all the secondary controls behind a drop down flap. This includes tone and balance controls with 'direct' option and A&B speaker and loudness switching.
The amp and remote support Kenwood's XS8 and XS16 remote protocols (the amp can be attached to other Kenwood components like tuners, cassette decks, etc and allows you to control them via its remote).
Construction quality is good, with a generously...

Music in the palm of your hand
Review of Kenwood DMC-J7R by
Sie
Advantages: Easy of use, stylish modern appearance
Disadvantages: Durability, prone to skipping
...I have now been the owner of the Kenwood minidisc player for almost two years. I was originally drawn to the product as it was a Kenwood, and having a Kenwood hi-fi, which I was very happy with, gave me confidence in them as a company.
The player itself takes on a slick and sexy appearance, with a metallic blue exterior. The functionality is excellent, offering the same choice as many players, but put together in a user friendly way.
The player has not been without its problems though. Withing the first month, it needed to be returned to the manufacturer as the optical lasers started malfunctioning. Another gripe I have is it's proneness to jumping, as this was the one thing that drew me to minidisc rather than CD.
The minidisc format itself though is excellent, offering versatility way beyond a CD at a much more competitive price...

Kenwood 2-Slice Toaster TT350 - A Review
Review of Kenwood TT 350 Toasters by
freelancer1
Advantages: Fair price. Defrost and reheat functions. Overheating protection.
Disadvantages: A bit bulky, warming rack seems a little pointless.
...I bought this toaster when I refitted my kitchen a few years back, and it has served me well. If you are considering buying it, though, there are a few things you should know...
The Kenwood 2-Slice Toaster with Warming Rack TT350 (White) is Just Like Your Average Toaster..
Put in bread, push down handle, toast pops out. Simple.
...But a Little Bit Nifty...
The Kenwood 2-Slice Toaster with Warming Rack TT350 (White) has a few notable features that you might not find on a standard toaster:
*Brownness dial - you rotate it to adjust the darkness of your slice (or in my case, what shade of burnt you want).
*Reheat...

It Pours And It Reigns
Review of Kenwood SK960/SK950 by
polydeuces
Advantages: Good pourer, boils quickly, neat design and functional stand
Disadvantages: None
...We have recently bought a new kettle to replace the one which not only stopped working but blew the fuses in the house as it went. The Kenwood SK950 is an excellent kettle. It cost £27.50 from Argos (Catalogue number 420/8176) and is well worth it.
It has a capacity of 1.7litres which I make about 3 pints, it has, according to the box, about 2.2kw of power but such figures are only relevant if you are comparing them against another kettle. What counts is how it boils water, after all apart from looks that is the only function you want from a kettle. The Kenwood has a round modern chrome design and sits on a connector which means the kettle can be placed anywhere within a 360o arc and it still connects perfectly. Well there is also perhaps one crucial other consideration which comes into it, how does it pour? The Kenwood has an excellent...

Great Kenwood Kettle
Review of Kenwood SJ367 by
saraha007
Advantages: Looks Great, Boils Fast and its Cordless!
Disadvantages: Being Silver it does show up any water, splash marks
...I have had my Kenwood Kettle now for 6 months and it is great. My previous kettle wasn't cordless and it was a terrible job trying to de-scale the kettle inside, but the Kenwood kettle I have no problems with what so ever. I have only had to de-scale this kettle once in the whole 6 months which was a very straight forward job as there are no elements inside the actual kettle.
One of the main reasons I got this kettle is because I don't like having to wait around for ages for the kettle to boil. This one boils in under 2 minutes which isn't long at all.
I also like this kettle as there is also a matching style of toaster you can get. I got mine from the argos catalogue and the kenwood toaster looks great next to the matching style of kettle.
I do think that £39.99 is quite a steep price for a kettle, although having said that I have...

Whizz....Chop...Blend- what more do i need?!
Review of Kenwood FP116 by
clairlouise1982
Advantages: Ideal for small scale use
Disadvantages: not great if you are feeding the 5000!
...I bought the Kenwood FP116 , Chrome, as my first food processor when my fiancé and I moved in together. I didn't want to spend a fortune, knowing it wouldnt be somethign I would use every day, so the Kenwood FP116 was ideal, costing less than £30.
I set straight to work using it to whip up a batch of homemade hoummous. Using the blender blade (which is the one I use most) I was able to blend all the ingredients to the perfect consistency. The pulse button lets you control just how much you mix the ingredients so it doesnt get over-mixed.
Next I decided to make a big batch of soup which was where it's size let the Kenwood FP116 down. Being only small it couldn't take the whole batch of soup and silly me filled it too full so it leaked over the sides! One tomato covered worktop later and my lesson was learned!
other than that though its...

The Kenwood water filter
Review of Kenwood Water Filter by
hpearce
Advantages: Cheaper then others
Disadvantages: none
...Due to the hardness of my tap water I decided to buy a water filter, although fairly sceptical about them. After looking at all of them I chose the Kenwood water filter at £8.99 from Argos. I have now had it for nearly two years and wouldn't be without it!
I mainly use the water for my tea, the main improvements here are the taste of the tea, and the fact that you don't get those small hard lumps of scale in the bottom of your cup, and the fact that I never need to descale the kettle. I know when it is running out as the kettle element starts to get the white fur as the scale starts but after changing the filter this disappears!
I also use it for drinking water and even making ice cubes - the taste is different from tap water and you know it is fairly pure. Finally I use it to fill up my fish taank after cleaning! Again if I...

Cheap and cheerful is a pain
Review of Kenwood VC5000 by
hondapants3
Advantages: small compact
Disadvantages: low power, smallbag, build quality
...Kenwood in my mind drums up images of good quality. This quality did come at a price. So when we saw this small vacuum cleaner at an offer price of £24.99 I thought we were onto a winner. How wrong we were!
Even though the unit boasts a 1400watt motor the effectiveness of it doesn't reflect the power which was a real disappointment.
Within 6 weeks or use the end of the hose started to drop off, which was highly irritating as most of the time it fell off underneath a table! A week after that the plastic fixing mounts whic held the nozzle on the end of the pipe snapped off. Now it is held on with trusty sellotape.
Parts are another story after purchasing the vacuum I enquired after things such as replacment filters, I found out that you had to go through kenwood to get them which was around £8. This made me think that by the time i...

Kenwood kettle
Review of Kenwood SJ350 by
bkjoley44
Advantages: rapid boil
Disadvantages: stainless steel has to be constantly cleaned
...Capacity 1.7litres
Main body is STAINLESS STEEL
The product is cordless for easy utility
Product Dimensions: 21.0x16.0x26.5(H/W/D)cm
The element is concealed within the appliance
The Jug is attached to a 360 degree connector base
It comes complete with a limescale filter, useful if you live in a hardwater area
The lid is Snap-fit
Power: 2.2kw
The Kenwood kettle, with its Lustrous design, would certainly not be out of place in any kitchen. However, if this product is the one for you, make sure that, before installing it in your kitchen, you take the advice of Friends of the Earth and recycle your old kettle at a civic amenity site and avoid adding to the six million kitchen appliances carelessly discarded each year. I have had this kettle recently and I found it to work reasonably well. I liked the jug design in comparison to other...
