Convenient operation and a powerful sound - the KDC-4557U CD receiver is perfectly tailored so that iPod/iPhone users can take their music into their cars with them. And with 24 available colours, the illumination can be changed to suit your mood or to complement your car's interior. The Kenwood KDC-4554U offers owners of current iPods and iPhones sophisticated integration of their devices into the car environment. Briefly pressing the "iPod direct access" button next to the volume control is all you need to switch from car radio to iPod playback. Using the control dial and the skip buttons, it is easy to flick through and select titles, artists, albums and genres stored on the iPod or iPhone in alphabetical order. In order to guarantee the battery charging function of the Apple device even during music playback, the KDC-4557U features an iPod interface with a charging current of 1 ampere. Kenwood therefore provides an optional connection cable designed for the high power requirement of the Apple player. An AUX input is also available for analogue audio sources or digital players without a USB interface. A powerful 4 x 50-watt MOS-FET power amplifier, sophisticated tone control (QEX system) and other sound quality-enhancing settings (bass boost, loudness, supreme) ensure real Hi-Fi playback quality at any speed. ... less

Even the KDC-3054UR, the smallest model in the new series, has a USB port on the front for connecting USB devices. The digital files on a USB stick (or a data CD) can be searched at the touch of a button and the corresponding title information is displayed on the 11-digit illuminated display. The control elements, which are positioned at an angle to the driver, control key functions such as volume, audio source and radio frequency selection, music search and forwards and backwards track skipping. There is also a new audio button that provides quick access to the car radio sound settings. On the right-hand side of the front panel, the CD radio has an illuminated USB port allowing you to connect a data stick or USB memory player. In addition, the KDC-U40R CD receiver features a direct connection for an Apple iPod or iPhone. The music search function allows you to easily browse and select titles, artists, albums and genres based on the initial letters. And of course the Apple player's batteries are also charged during playback - the Kenwood receiver has a 1 amp charging current for this purpose.
