The Vacuum that refuses to clean
Review of Kenwood VC 6200 by
David515
Advantages: It's shiny and Red
Disadvantages: As much use as a Chocolate Tea pot
...This Kenwood vacuum looks splendid, is relatively high powered and is bagless which of course means more suck.
Apart from the fact that it can't stay on its wheels it only has one real design flaw.
It doesn't really get on with dust.
The filters block, the suction is lost and the finer particles of dust simply fly out of the back.
I have persevered with this machine. After spending the last hour dragging the thing around the upstairs of my home, using nothing but the end of the tube to make up for the lack of suction, I turned the thing off and good portion of what I sucked up, spilled out.
Frustrated? Annoyed? No more like bemused. Kenwood have a good reputation, I have a vacuum that sucks really well as long as I don't want it to clean!...

Advantages: Does vacuum well
Disadvantages: Filters difficult to clean and replacements hard to buy
...This product sells itself on being a 'bagless' cleaner. However in my experience looking after the increased number of filters used is more problematic than changing hoover bags. The hepa dust collector filter is really fiddly to clean (it is a ridged cylinder and all the grooves in it have to be cleaned out by hand). All the filters are supposed to be cleaned twice a month and then left to air dry, which means that your hoover is out of action in the meantime. I have also not been able to find any shop which sells spare filters so I have to order them from a website related to the Kenwood website. Every order I have placed has taken a long time to arrive because they were out of stock.
All in all I would not recommend this product...

The Kenwood water filter
Review of Kenwood Water Filter by
hpearce
Advantages: Cheaper then others
Disadvantages: none
...Due to the hardness of my tap water I decided to buy a water filter, although fairly sceptical about them. After looking at all of them I chose the Kenwood water filter at £8.99 from Argos. I have now had it for nearly two years and wouldn't be without it!
I mainly use the water for my tea, the main improvements here are the taste of the tea, and the fact that you don't get those small hard lumps of scale in the bottom of your cup, and the fact that I never need to descale the kettle. I know when it is running out as the kettle element starts to get the white fur as the scale starts but after changing the filter this disappears!
I also use it for drinking water and even making ice cubes - the taste is different from tap water and you know it is fairly pure. Finally I use it to fill up my fish taank after cleaning! Again if I...

Cheap and cheerful is a pain
Review of Kenwood VC5000 by
hondapants3
Advantages: small compact
Disadvantages: low power, smallbag, build quality
...Kenwood in my mind drums up images of good quality. This quality did come at a price. So when we saw this small vacuum cleaner at an offer price of £24.99 I thought we were onto a winner. How wrong we were!
Even though the unit boasts a 1400watt motor the effectiveness of it doesn't reflect the power which was a real disappointment.
Within 6 weeks or use the end of the hose started to drop off, which was highly irritating as most of the time it fell off underneath a table! A week after that the plastic fixing mounts whic held the nozzle on the end of the pipe snapped off. Now it is held on with trusty sellotape.
Parts are another story after purchasing the vacuum I enquired after things such as replacment filters, I found out that you had to go through kenwood to get them which was around £8. This made me think that by the time i...

No more Creases
Review of Hinari Lifestyle Iron by
WendyTaylor
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...Kenwood Electronic Steam/Spray/Shot Iron
I don’t believe any woman genuinely likes ironing, but if there are some of you out there that do, you’re welcome to
come and do mine any time.
If you did decide to take me up on my offer, I’ve just purchased a new Kenwood iron. It’s got all the usual
trimmings.
See thru water tank
Heat settings dial
Push buttons for extra steam shot/spray
Limescale filter for those hard water areas
Plus it also has a vertical steam shot so you do the curtains when they’re hanging.
It’s comfy to hold, not too heavy and not that expensive....

The Kenwood kettle, with its Lustrous design, would certainly not be out of place in any kitchen. However, if this product is the one for you, make sure that, before installing it in your kitchen, you take the advice of Friends of the Earth and recycle your old kettle at a civic amenity site and avoid adding to the six million kitchen appliances carelessly discarded each year. I have had this kettle recently and I found it to work reasonably well. I liked the jug design in comparison to other...

1 for the Coffee Addicts
Review of Kenwood ES547 Retro by
super_star
Advantages: Great tasting coffee, easy to use, easy to clean
Disadvantages: Urm...
...Kenwood espresso machines are for those who know how to enjoy the small pleasures of life, beginning with a fantastic cup of freshly brewed coffee.
The Kenwood ES547 Retro has everything I had every wanted from an espresso machine. It looks the part, and defiantly produces the best coffee I have every tasted!
We got this as a moving in present from my grandparents so I have no idea what it cost as I am not cheeky enough to ask them the price but it looks and works like a dream so I am not too fussed on the price!
This Kenwood features an innovative Thermocream® device which gives you hot and rich coffee shop espresso, right at home. Thermocream® is designed with a filter that ensures that the coffee always brews at a constant pressure.
It is therefore possible to enjoy very creamy espresso, with an intense aroma and full...

What A Refreshing Change.
Review of Kenwood Water Filter by
atlantis140
Advantages: Pleasenter drinking Water, no limescale build up on kettle
Disadvantages: Could be a little bit larger to accomodate more water.
...I had owned a water filter for years and had found one to be invaluable, but after a while it became old and it had yellowed and didn't look right in my kitchen anymore so off i went to buy a new one.
There were a fair few different contraptions out there which had built in computers and all sorts but i decided to be the simple but effective Kenwood Water Filter. It cost me £9.99 and was from argos.
When i took it out the packaging i noticed it came with it's first free filtration cartridge which would last for 60 refils or 90 days which ever was the 1st.
The instructions informed me to rinse the jug and 'hopper' where the water is placed prior to filtration. I was then told to activate the cartridge. To do this you have to take the cartridge and place it in a bowl of water and keep it submerged under the water for at least five...

Kenwood CM651 - coffee maker
Review of Kenwood CM651 by
barbarajhscott
Advantages: great tasting coffee at a drinkable temperature
Disadvantages: looks quirky (but maybe you like that)
...Our last coffee machine (Tefal) had been part of our family for nine years - until he sadly died due to being put too close to a rather hot microwave and melted. We spent a very long time searching for a replacement product and finally decided upon the Kenwood CM651. While scouring the market we discovered many different coffee machines which were adorned with various spangaly extras such as timers and "aroma switches" but to be honest - all we wanted |
