For this Chef, its a Kenwood
Advantages: loads of attachments, large bowls, planetary mixing leaves items thoroughly mixed
Disadvantages: have to make counterspace but well worth it
...warranties on the workings of old machines, as they are such high quality! There are even Chefs from 1950's era still in use and they work like new! If you are looking to buy a food processor/liquidiser, etc. when setting up a kitchen, I recommend one of these without reservation. It does it all, and will keep on going and going and going without needing replacement. A good tip is to scout out on Ebay for one, and to keep an eye out on Ebay for the various attachments (including manuals!) and so save yourself some money while getting a truly excellent product. Handy tip is to enter the words "kenwood chef" into the Ebay search box as that is how these usually are listed, the Ebay link above will usually draw a blank!...

Brilliantly reliable food processor
Advantages: Lots of accessories, reliable , long lasting
Disadvantages: Cant take a whole christmas cake
...I used to make my own bread and pasta by hand it was satisfying but hard work . When I got a part time job , I found I just didn't have time to bake anymore. I'd seen a few processors in the Argos catalogue and drooled over them. Then one day I bit the bullet and bought one. It was a revelation , I could whizz up biscuit dough in five minutes , my bread was kneaded in seconds and pasta became a doddle. Best of all was the marmalade , now instead of sticky orange juice everywhere I could peel my oranges by hand , grate the peel with the grater disc and juice the orange flesh with the citrus juicer which caught all those wretched little pips. Bliss.
That first processor lasted 10 years. As soon as it died ,I bought another the FP470.
This newer model had extras... A liquidiser and A whisk
It also had all the attatchments...

Nothing to beat the Kenwood Chef
Advantages: The original do-everything machine
Disadvantages: This machine is not cheap brand new
...needs than the equivalent Kitchen Aid, it was also a lot cheaper!
We haven't looked back since buying it, to be honest its saved us lots of time, the dough is always perfect and it mixes far better because of the 'planetary'mixing action. We've used it every day since buying it, and can't recommend it enough.
If you are looking for a mixer and can only afford a food processor rather than the £200-odd for a Kenwood Chef, I'd recommend looking on E-Bay for a used one, as these machines last a lifetime. I've just paid £50 for one a few years old, its in immaculate condition with a glass bowl. From purchase via cheque to delivery, it took 2 weeks, but some sellers let you pay immediately and deliver within a day (depends on the seller!).
I hope I've given you a few ideas and happy mixing!

Process up your bits with a Kenwood
Advantages: Small, easy to store and good for those small jobs in the kitchen
Disadvantages: Will struggle with larger items
...I tend to spend quite some time in the kitchen these days but I don?t really mind as I do like cooking, I suppose that stems back to when I was ?cheffing? for a living.
Anyway, back when I was ?cheffing? you had to do most things by hand, cooking wise that is, so it was a little more work back then. These days life in the kitchen is so much easier, what with all the mod-cons that are on the market to give chefs a little helping hand.
One of them items, which I am the owner of and have been for some time, is the kenwood Multi Pro food processor/liquidiser.
** Brief specs?
* White food processor.
* Separate liquidizer.
* 1.2 litre mixer capacity
* 2.1 litre bowl capacity
* 750 watt power
* 2 speed and ?pulse? button
* Safety interlock to prevent accidental start without lid.
* Detachable blades for easy cleaning...

My favourite Kenwood Chef - A701A
Advantages: retro appearance - best food mixer for cakes, pastry and dough
Disadvantages: size and weight often need to store it away
...A if mine breaks down.
You can find this model by looking in your local newspaper classified, sometimes at auctions or car boot sales and in on-line auctions like eBay. They are often expensive for such old items. The good things is that you can also pick up spare parts and accessories on eBay.
My 701A has an original recipe book (also sometimes found on eBay) and a 'K' beater for making cakes and pastry. I much prefer to use this old Kenwood to make both cakes and pastry rather than my fairly new food processor as they turn out much better. It also has a whisk for beating for example egg whites to make meringues and a dough hook for bread making. It takes all the hard work out of bread making and it is quicker than a bread maker. You have to be a bit careful when you start to mix flour and margarine as if there is a lot in...

My Kenwood Chef - we couldn't live without it
Advantages: Makes great cakes, drinks, pastry, biscuits, you name it, it does it
Disadvantages: Takes up lot of space
...This may not be the most modern of food mixers but I inherited mine from my mum and it?s still working perfectly.
Yes they are cumbersome, yes they take up space, but compared to my food processor, my kenwood chef is brilliant for many things, especially meringues, which, try as I might, I had never been able to master in my 39 years!!!!
I remember days spent as a child, in the kitchen with my mum on a Sunday, making delights such as bourbon biscuits and shortbread in her kenwood chef. After she died in 1995, the chef was given to my grandmother, as at that time I had my food processor and was happy with that.
A few months ago my grandmother handed the chef over and boy am I glad she did. My meringues are better than Sara Lees and the kids are so impressed when I make any sort of meringue with it!!!
My daughter and I have...

Kenwood KM010 - royalty in the kitchen
Advantages: It's simply the most powerful and majestic Kenwood
Disadvantages: Can't think of any
...If I was totally honest it would be fair to say that I needed a new Kenwood like a hole in the head - after all how many virtually retired batchelors really need a food processor?
But over the decades I collected unpteen very usefull accessories and no less than four Kenwood mixers of mixed vintage, all of which were excellent for one task or another. However none were compatable with all the tools I owned, and visa versa!
In a fit of enthusiasm last Christmas I hunted the Internet and decided to treat myself to a new Kenwood. Days of deliberation [and umpteen special deal offers later] I plumped for a Kenwood KM 010 Titanium.
When it arrived, in a positively huge box, I really enjoyed myself unpacking every item and comparing the impressive new machine with its stainless steel accessories to the many "antique" versions in my...

My Kenwood, My Friend
Advantages: Inexpensive and practical
Disadvantages: Rather noisy
... KENWOOD WHITE COMPACT FOOD PROCESSOR
INTRODUCTION
The food processor is probably my most used kitchen appliance (next to my trusty Senseo coffee machine!!)
This review is about my current food processor, which is the Kenwood White Compact Food Processor that I bought from Argos about six years ago. I paid around £25 for the machine but on checking today I see that it is on sale in Argos (code number 420/0442) for £27.99, I have also seen them on Amazon for less than £20.
I have, in the past, owned far more expensive and intricate food processors. But this machine is perfectly adequate for me, and I do a lot of cooking. Six years on it is still working well, making my pastry, whisking my eggs shredding my vegetables etc.
I have been a Kenwood customer for forty years since my mum bought me my first Kenwood...

Kenwood Major - A major success
Advantages: Large bowl, pulse capability, bowl cover
Disadvantages: Bowl cover is not very strong.
...Q: Kenwood Major or Kenwood Chef?
A: It depends on your needs!
Advantages of the Major over the Chef:
- Larger bowl makes large mixing possible, less messy and easier (6.7L over 4.6L)
- Flexible beater included
Although that may seem like a very small difference for such a difference in price, for me, it is well worth it. When baking or mixing something for large quantities the Major gives me the capacity that the Chef would struggle with.
As with the Chef, the Kenwood Major is a very high quality appliance. With the flexibility of being able to attach the most amazing attachments, from sausage makers to food processors the Major flexes its dynamism. This is a very robust machine that in my experience does not scratch easily. If you are toying up whether to get a Kenwood over another brand I would suggest the Kenwood for a number...

Kenwood FP250
Advantages: Cheap and good for carrots etc
Disadvantages: not fit for mixing dough
...Loved the price of this processor.
Had it 2 weeks burnt motor out doing nothing too heavy on it
4 batches of soup and three bread mixes :(
First day i used it i thought the burning smell was just it bedding in.
Second time it was ok with just some onions, carrots, potatoes & roasted vegetables
Last time i used it black smoke belched out the bottom of it, never a good sign in my opinion.
Took it back to Tesco and got a refund.
Last time i buy a Kenwood unless i can be talked back from this one.
This was not a good buy even though price indicated it was going to be
On up side it is great for chopping onions and carrots just pants at the more difficult stuff!!!...
