Kenwood Kettle comes to stay and stay and stay

Kenwood KM010 - royalty in the kitchen

Advantages: It's simply the most powerful and majestic Kenwood
Disadvantages: Can't think of any

In one fowl swoop I gave away [nearly] all of my vintage Kenwood equipment safe in the knowledge that the new machine will probably out live me! So now I had a really powerful modern Kenwood with a [free] food processor, large glass liquidiser, superb stainless bowl, and all the traditional tools, to which I have added a new mincer. The machine is an utter joy to both own and use. The sheer power of the motor, the infinitely variable speed, the four power outlets, and the Kenwood's simply majestic presense in the kitchen makes mere plastic food mixers pale into insignificance. My Kenwood Chef - we couldn't live without it

Advantages: Makes great cakes, drinks, pastry, biscuits, you name it, it does it
Disadvantages: Takes up lot of space

...This may not be the most modern of food mixers but I inherited mine from my mum and it?s still working perfectly. Yes they are cumbersome, yes they take up space, but compared to my food processor, my kenwood chef is brilliant for many things, especially meringues, which, try as I might, I had never been able to master in my 39 years!!!! I remember days spent as a child, in the kitchen with my mum on a Sunday, making delights such as bourbon biscuits and shortbread in her kenwood chef. After she died in 1995, the chef was given to my grandmother, as at that time I had my food processor and was happy with that. ...Kenwood KB9188 Steam Iron... I have always had really cheap irons until I decided that the time spent ironing was twice as long with a cheap iron. I paid out only a fraction more than I would usually when this Kenwood iron was on special at £10 from Argos. Its original price was around £15 but considering I usually only had Tesco Value Irons for less than a fiver this one cost the price of a couple of irons would usually do. I would have to say however that it was a total brilliant purchase on my behalf. The price paid was a bargain and I can't believe that I have been using cheap irons all this time. The Kenwood iron is heavy in weight and high in watts (2000). This means that it is able to sail through the ironing at a super quick time, I am not having to push hard on the clothing or go over it several times with just one swoop...

Kenwood's Classy Kettle

...I had been using a cheap Cookworks kettle that was bought in the Argos sale for just £4.99 around 5 years ago and although it was very basic it had lasted me well. When it started to leak though, I had to look for a replacement, rather than run the risk of electrocuting myself! Had it 2 weeks burnt motor out doing nothing too heavy on it 4 batches of soup and three bread mixes :( First day i used it i thought the burning smell was just it bedding in. Second time it was ok with just some onions, carrots, potatoes & roasted vegetables Last time i used it black smoke belched out the bottom of it, never a good sign in my opinion. Took it back to Tesco and got a refund. Last time i buy a Kenwood unless i can be talked back from this one. This was not a good buy even though price indicated it was going to be On up side it is great for chopping onions and carrots just pants at the more difficult stuff!!!...

...Kenwood; there's a name I haven't seen for a long time. I used to have a Hi fi unit with the name of Kenwood and although it wasn't the best it took me a few years to realise that the company who make kitchen appliances and Hi Fi's are not the same people! Doh! Well its harmless enough mistake to make given that the look of each brand emblem is virtually the same. These days however I have moved onto better things and replaced my old Hi Fi with an all in one unit, half the size and twice the amount of features. The same goes with my toaster. Having had a few cheapie brand names over the years such as Hinari, Bush and JMB from then, Index catalogue stores (bought over by Argos) and another similar toaster from Poundstretcher, one day my cheapie toaster no longer toasted.
