...Tesco Bacon Rashers (150g) The Christmas chocolates and savoury snacks are already appearing in supermarkets. I resisted the temptation to buy any chocolates just yet. Past experience has shown that I can?t resist the temptation to wait until Christmas before starting on them! However, amongst the Christmas snacks in Tesco?s this year are their Bacon Rashers. I fought back the urge to buy the ?big? bag of these and opted for a smaller one in their usual ?snack? section. I haven?t had any of these for a while so I decided to see if they were as tasty as I remembered. Brief Facts ? This product is produced in the UK. ? The Best Before date on my pack was 4 months from when I bought it. ? It is suitable for vegetarians! So obviously no real bacon was used in the making of this product. ? Tesco Bacon Rashers - A More-ish Kind of Snack - Beware!

Advantages: A nice alternative to crisps - full of flavour
Disadvantages: Not healthy - bag iis quite big so there is the temptation to eat the lot!

...Tesco Bacon Rashers I was in trouble last night. I usually buy some nice crisps/snacks for us to have while we are watching a film, but I forgot! To redeem myself, I went out and bought some of these as a treat for us to enjoy tonight instead. In order to write a review, I have had to open the packet to sample a few... What are they like? I don't know if anyone has ever tasted either Frazzles or Bacon Fries, but this is Tesco's attempt at producing something similar. They are a nice alternative to traditional crisps and are predominantly made from maize and rice. The packaging tells us that they contain no artificial flavours, colours or MSG. One sixth of a pack contains a whopping 130 calories and contains 6.9g of fat of which 0.5g are saturates. So beware it is easy to get carried away with the amount that you eat...

Smoky Bacon Infused With Spices

Advantages: nice tomato and bacon flavours
Disadvantages: too spicy for me

...I do like pasta but always like a nice sauce with them and get sick of the same old recipes. I was in my local supermarket and decided to have a look and see what there was, I do like a good brand but don't like paying more than £1.50 for a sauce as I feel it gets a bit much. This is when I came across the Lloyd Grossman pasta sauce which I have had before but have not tried many of the flavours. The one that I have chosen to write about today is the Smoky Bacon sauce which I cooked yesterday. Oh No!! They're making bacon!!

...for little hand's big writing. OLDER KIDS!! I must say that when we played this in the past there was a lot of hilarity, especially when the pigs landed in the 'making bacon' position!! I do know though that my teenage daughters played this game at times in a rather different way than usual. When they had friends round of a night our dining room would reverberate with laughter. The way they played was that the position the pigs landed in determined which player would drink and how much. I am sure that is not how the makers intended their game to be played, and I am not recommending it. Drink sensibly and all that, but they did have some fun. Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Not quite like real bacon...

Advantages: Healthy, low in fat and calories, easy to cook.
Disadvantages: A little expensive, not like real bacon, what is mycoprotein???

...Now before I start, I'm not a vegetarian. My lovely boyfriend is however, and through him I have sampled and tasted a LOT of Quorn and 'fake meat' products. One of the reasons I could never be a veggie is because I love bacon far too much. Said boyfriend introduced me to Quorn's Streaky Bacon Style Strips. I believe that other companies also offer 'bacon' products and I vaguely remember eating 'Realeat' bacon many moons ago and I have also seen some organic veggie bacon in an organic supermarket. For the most part when seeking veggie bacon, this Quorn product will be what you find in the supermarket freezer. It's worth nothing that they also stock Smoky Bacon Style Slices and Deli Bacon Style too. Where to buy: Sainsburys, Waitrose or Asda, any supermarket with a frozen section.
