Soon after our arrival, out come the maps and we decide where we would like to go. As we have been going for nine years, we have covered quite a lot of the Sunshine State, but never visited Key West. It is a fair distance (around 500 miles from our home) so we set off early, heading down the west coast past Tampa towards Naples. Here we had a bite to eat before making our way eastwards to Everglade City in the Alligator Alley area. At the entrance to the city (some city – one restaurant, a church and a scattering of houses) we were confronted by a signpost saying “The Last Frontier.” Quaint. Party Away at Key West

Advantages: beautiful scenery, plenty of things to do, friendly people
Disadvantages: normally quite expensive

...I recently rented a car in Miami with a friend of mine and we drove down to Key West. It was altogether a wonderful experience! First, the drive itself is extremely scenic: 200 miles of water, bridges, mangroves, birds and blue blue sky until you get to Key West, the farthest point south of the entire continental US. Once you get there, options abound: You can either be really lazy, and just lie on the beach all day. Last week it was in the 80s and dry, and there were not many people as many Americans are not traveling anywhere at the moment. If you are more actively inclined you can sail, swim, snorkel, scuba, surf, parasail, etc etc. Any watersport, it is there. If you like to stay on land, there are a lot of possibilities as well. Old Key West Resort,

Advantages: Wonderful relaxed atmosphere, large rooms, all usual Disney extras
Disadvantages: None except price maybe, but that's Disney!

...Disney's Old Key West resort - well what can I say. I have just come back from this resort and can honestly say that it is soooooo beautiful. It is themed on the Florida Keys and boasts a very laid back and relaxed atmosphere throughout the resort. Every member of staff will go out of their way to ensure that your vacation goes as smooth as possible from start to finish. The resort is made up of 'blocks' of villas, which range from a studio which sleeps 4, right up to a grand villa which will sleep 12 people. The way the buildings are arranged is excellent. They are all around the resort, with a golf course sprawling between them. Combine this with the beautiful landscaping and every villa has a fantastic view. One thing I will say though is that as the landscaping is quite 'lush', some of the ground floor villas have some views...

Key West, Fun in the sun

Advantages: The weather, the nature, the experience

...I found this place absolutely stunning. WIth views to die for and the weather that one would certainly expect coming from the cold UK. I visited The Keys over the Christmas period and I knew that it was going to be warm, but it must have been at least 80 degrees! We were there for 10 days and we did not see an ounce of cloud or rain throughout the entire holiday. The night life in Key West is amazing, there are bars upon bars all selling the reknown Key Lime Pie...which i must say...was gorgeous! Each bar has their own musician or band and they do a cycle of the town. Each night they play at another bar, so if you find a musician you like you can follow them around but on the other hand if you find a bar you like you can stay there and taste the fusion of different styles. * More security - less keys! . .

Advantages: Just the one key.
Disadvantages: Not really.

...This type of "Keyed alike" padlock is very useful, especially where you need two or three locks, having just the one key makes life that bit easier. Just remember that the inside of the padlock is steel, so it requires oil now and then - The size of keys may be important to you, these are a lot smaller than those provided with conventional locks, also they are very cheap nowadays - They do provide a visible deterrent, especially if they are a good sized chunk of shiny metal. I fitted a row of three of these on the in-laws shed, these particular locks were made by Legge, although there are hundreds of different manufacturers.The shed looks like Fort Knox, it looks very secure indeed, although in reality, all the locks are fixed to the same piece of flimsy wood. Being practical, it is an easy job to undo all three locks...

Review of Keyed Alike Padlock

The Skeleton Key .

Advantages: Good Voodoo story with a twist.
Disadvantages: Not too scary for a horror.

As Caroline settles in Violet gives her a key which supposedly unlocks all the doors in the house, but she soon discovers there's one door it does'nt open, this is the door to the attic room at the top of the house. She questions Violet on why the key does'nt work in that lock and is told it was like that on the day they moved in and the door has never been opened and it was best to leave well alone. Her curiosity get's the better of her and through sheer determination she manages to unlock the door, inside, the room is dark and dusty with cobwebs everywhere and mirrors of every size proped up against the walls, among all of this she sees all sorts of weird stuff...
