The Kia Sedona is a nice car but...

...Having a family of 4 as well as 3 Boisterous Labradors I was looking for a car with Space and Style that would not need Refuelling twice a week. I looked at various people carriers before deciding on a Kia Sedona, Mainly because I had never heard of Kia. The Salesman was well informed and seemed to have a genuine passion when selling the finer points of the car, which is always encouraging. But did I want a Kia Sedona? My nearest Kia garage was, at that time, some 40 miles away. A long way to go if something relatively minor goes wrong. Kia Picanto, a great small car

Advantages: Small economical car
Disadvantages: Lack of boot space

The wonderfull Kia Picanto

Advantages: A wonderfull nippy, well designed and comfortable car with surprisingly a lot of room
Disadvantages: Small boot (but it has storage under it)

OUR WORK HORSE AND FAMILY CAR THE CARENS GSX

Advantages: AIr Conditioning, Good load carrying capacity, built in roof bars, power steering, loads of room and air bags.
Disadvantages: Had a few teething problems when bought as ex demo model, the high suspension gives some, it tends to lean on bends.

...Our Kia Carens, is our work horse and our family car, it does all the camping trips pulling our caravan whilst loaded to the hilt, taking us on our family holidays, it can fit a family of 5 in comfortably and take our two dogs inthe rear boot space. We bought this car as an ex demo in when it was about 8mths old, it is an 02 plate, it was initially up for sale at 10,083.00 we heavily negotiated a price on our old rover (initially only wanted to give us 300. part exchange, but got them up to 1783.00) so paid £8300 for it. As this was an ex demo, did not get the choices of having all the extras - we got what it came with, our is a meticalic gold colour, listed as beige. Disadvantages: 'Unknown' name - for all you brand 'snobs'!

...We purchased our 2.9 CRDi Kia Sedona in May this year. Why, oh why did we not do it sooner. How many journeys did we endure with the tedious whining of "Are we nearly there yet?" " How much further?" "Mum, he/she/its hitting me...?" - if you have children you know the sentences... We've just come back from a camping holiday in the UK that involved a 3.5 hr journey, and I can not wait to go to France involving a 10 hr journey in 10 days time, yes, I can not wait to do such a long journey, with our children. I never thought I'd say that, but... With air conditioning, comfy seats, a high ride position, and in-car DVD system (with infa-red headphones, so we can have our own music at the front), journeys are a doddle. ...After recently returning my friend's Mazda RX7, I was in need of a car to move around with, and I got a Kia Pride at next to nothing (US $100). I figured what the heck. The car is a four door hatchback and mine came with a 1300cc engine, no power steering, automatic and air conditioning. Perfect for a fixer-upper quick-money-bringer. In terms of looks, you can't do much worse (if at all). This car is square - even Scion doesn't have a car this square and boxy, and this car was probably the inspiration for Nissan's cube. Inside, this car is a bad 80's flashback - grey interior, square, straight-edged dashboard, flimsy-looking gear shifter, everything is very basic. But she had it where it counted - under the hood. Review of Kia Pride

High Maintenance KIA

Advantages: Plenty of room for those weekends away
Disadvantages: Your always wondering what will go wrong next

...miles it needed a new clutch (£450 if you haggle with the dealer, more if you don't). The clutch is not covered beyond 1K miles in the warranty. Now I've been driving for 35 years and had approx 10 cars, none of which has had clutch failure less than 50K to 60K miles and the dealer insists the wear was down to driving style. (The cheek of it) With 2 services at around £250 each. Three exhaust systems (Covered by the warranty) thats one every 8 months I could'nt recommend Kia to my worst enemy. "Or could I" !!! It does'nt end there, I now suspect the engine management system, on two occasions recently for no apparent reason the engine has accelerated, luckily the car was stationary at the time. Oh and another thing don't apply the brakes too hard on tight corners, they make a terrible noise and judder like hell. Overall it's a pity...
