I love my Kia Sorento!

Advantages: Everything but the running costs
Disadvantages: Diesel costs!!!!!

...We bought our Kia Sorento this year second hand and can highly recomend it. It has been bought primarily as a towing vehicle for our caravan. (Its won tow car of the year last year). Having bought it second hand we have saved ourself so much money that I dont think I will ever buy a new car again! Its an XT model with all the mod cons, heated and leather seats, trims, cd auto changer, sat nav etc, the list goes on. Its sturdy and feels safe to drive. Being a 4x4 the visability is second to none and being a mum of three I feel in control rather than the car controling me! Now, for the running costs - always a downside in this day and age. Well, I try not to use it for short runs and have to say it is expensive to run although insurance wise and tax wise its average (it isnt in the top tax bracket). But, it does cost me nearly...

Fantastic value for money and a real working car

Advantages: Price, power, towing ability, gadgets, economical
Disadvantages: County set cannot get used to the badge and are sniffy

...UPDATE We have now had this vehicle for over 4 months and it has done another 10,000 miles so here is an update. The only glitch so far was the cruise control which kept cutting out. Eventually Kia admitted that it was a design fault with a switch on the braking circuit and repaired it immedately. No other difficulties at all in any way. Otherwise, I find nothing to change my views. It is comfortable, warm (heated seats too!), speedy, powerful and economical. I had to take my daughter and her pony to Merrist Wood Agricultural College near Guildford the other day, from west of Salisbury, and I put it in cruise control at just under 60 MPH (5th gear) at Amesbury. I did not have to change a thing until junction 3 of the M3. It tows without the slightest wobble and is really good on fuel - 34 MPG towing, I reckon. The state of the art...

We also looked at the ones that we passed on the road and saw the Kia Sedona. It looked very spacious, a nice smooth curvy body. We went to our local Kia dealers and had a look at the different models of Sedona they had. We didn?t want a second hand one in case anything happened to it we would not of had a fall back plan. We looked at the Kia Sedona SX and decided that this was the one for our family and us. We could fold all the back seats down and push them forward and have a large backspace if we needed it, also when the seats were upright and pushed forward there was quite a lot of space in the boot department, which we were surprised about. Need to tow anything - this is the best.

Advantages: Powerful, economical, comfortable and rugged
Disadvantages: Limited reversing visibility

...I needed a big heavy towcar as I was moving house and with the building work to do I needed it to tow a heavy trailer able to carry a mini digger, tow our caravan on holiday, do the shopping and not break the bank. Fortunately not too far away we had a Kia dealer. Having always had saloons or estate cars and looking down my nose at people who drove around in fuel guzzling chelsea tractors I was reluctant to consider a 4 x 4, but having done so I wish I had done it sooner. Kia Sedona 2.9LX CRDi 2002 Model

Advantages: Cheap to buy, roomy, versatile.
Disadvantages: Expensive parts and servicing, poor quality trim.

...Sedona is on its 3rd pump, injectors and pipes. (10000mls and 24000mls)and I know of one other locally.Dealer was not allowed to tell me how many others are involved. Another thing to consider is the warranty. Mine is 3 years unlimited mileage and now it is 3 years 100000mls for new purchases. If you breakdown and the vehicle is off the road, you will be supplied with a loan car, but only for 2 days! It will not be a comparible vehicle, just a small hatchback and you have to pick up the insurance bill for it yourself(£9.00 + vat per day). I had to beg KIA Assist to let me have a vehicle for the duration of my hols which they did, but has cost me £130.00 insurance. Overall, the car is good value for money, offering more space than its rivals but I think would benefit from being fitted with the 2.5 engine as fitted to the Sorento...

" How much further?" "Mum, he/she/its hitting me...?" - if you have children you know the sentences... We've just come back from a camping holiday in the UK that involved a 3.5 hr journey, and I can not wait to go to France involving a 10 hr journey in 10 days time, yes, I can not wait to do such a long journey, with our children.
