...The Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has been with us for a while now, and it hasn't been too badly received either amongst the Wii-mote waving, button bashing members of the public out there, so now that the DS version has finally arrived, should these same gamers still be as excited as they were the first time around? Advantages: Humorous, challenging and competitive games for everyone.

...This pretty much does what it says on the tin. The game is set in a funfair, and you have lots of games to try out. This is an extremely enjoyable and addictive game for all the family. It is interactive and lends itself to competition - exactly what the DS is good at. The games are well conceived and faithful to the original - complete with jolly presenters for each stall. The game music is fun, there are lots of hidden extras to find and some pretty whacky prizes. Fantastic console - but treat with kid gloves

Advantages: Portable, wide choice of games, touch screen gameplay.
Disadvantages: Breaks too easily!

...The Nintendo DS is an excellent product, extremely popular with children and seemingly the best portable console for girls, because of the wide choice of games. My daughter has had one for two years now, and still plays with it a lot. The two screens and touch screen technology make ganeplay more interesting depending on the game played eg in Brain Training, you can write the answers down. It also has voice recognition technology. Favourite and best value games include Animal Crossing, Super Mario Brothers, Brain Training and Nintendogs - these seem to be returned to again and again. The only downside to a DS Lite is that it is not very robust, we are now on our third one. ...Having seen the advert for this game i was desperate to buy it as i have not had my wii for that long and i do not have many games. I eventually bought this game and i am so glad that i did as it is great fun. Players This game can be played as a one player or multiplayer as long as you have a wii remote for each player. Also you will need a nunchuck for each player although some of the games you can play with just the remote. Characters In this game you can play as characters from either sonic or mario such as sonic, tails, mario, princess daisy and yoshi. ...During the 1990s, if you had a games console you would have probably been in one of two camps: Sega or Nintendo. I certainly was rooted firmly in the Sega camp having had a Mega Drive for many, many years with games like Street of Rage, Ecco the Dolphin and of course, Sonic the Hedgehog. I was a huge Sonic fan, playing the first and second game until completion and then starting up again a few days later as I loved everything about it, the colours, the gameplay.... everything. So if you tried to convince me that some 10-15 years later that Sonic and Mario would team up in a game, I probably would have just laughed. Back then it would have been an absurd thought but one that any magazine reviewer or computer game fanboy would have only dreamed about. Good for the kids

Advantages: novelty, well built both controls and wii can take a beating, great for the family,
Disadvantages: lacks graphics, lingers further away from the older gamer, not many good games

...I bought a wii a good 6 months ago and to start with like most people I found the novelty great espeically with friends but unfortunatley after a month or two the wii just began gathering dust and eventually I sold it at christmas to a friend for her kids. I would highly recommend the wii for kids and kids only. I m 19 and besides the free wii sports you get with the console theres not much going for the older gamer. Also it gets really boring if you do not have someone else to play it with. Overall the gameplay is good the wii remote works xtremely well as long as your are within 10ft of the console it will pick up ever motion you make. This can be trick to get use to to start with but with the free wii sports game you get with the console is a great way to get ajusted to the wii and before you know it will have become second nature...
