I looked the King Robert up before I left for Stirling and it looks way more expensive than anything I could afford if I were paying the bill myself. I was also travelling with a family member this time who has a disability which means she has difficulty walking. I therefore looked for hotels close to the train station where we'd be alighting (King's Cross) as well as to tube stations so it wouldn't be as much trouble getting around.
