Louis King Jason Hotel, Cyprus
Advantages: Clean, spaceous, pool, gym, sauna, restaurant, friendly staff.
Disadvantages: Antiquated equipment in gym, low chlorine levels in pools.
...I arrived at this hotel on the 7th December 2005 for a weeks long 'winter sun' holiday. From Paphos airport, the hotel was very simple to find, despite the various building projects going on in the surrounding area (will not affect quality of stay).
I was very encouraged to see numerous awards from 'Thomson Holidays' on the wall, for various accolades such as 'Best Winter Sun Apartments' and 'Best Summer Sun Apartments' for countless years, with the last one being awarded for the Winter of 2004.
Upon arrival, the hotel staff were very friendly and were on hand with a much welcomed glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. Our bags were taken from us and placed in our rooms. We were informed of our arrangements and given our keys and allowed to procede to our room.
The rooms are very spaceous, I was staying in a 4 bed apartment...

Paphian Bay Hotel Paphos
Advantages: Everything!!
Disadvantages: nothing
...I stayed at this hotel for one week in July 2005. It was brilliant. The hotel looked classy from the inside and out, and was only a short way from the shops and restaurants in Paphos.
Check In: I arrived at this hotel with 2 other family members, it was night time and we were all feeling tired and stressed. The check in to the hotel was quick, even though there was only one receptionist there. We quickly found our room on the bottom floor of the hotel, just a little way down the corridor. What we thought was the bottom floor was actually not though, as we found out, you had to go downstairs to get to the pool and the other facilities.
Room: The rooms were lovely and spacious, with two big beds and large bathroom. In the bedroom there was a kettle, and everything else for making tea. The milk, coffee, sugar and teabags were...

Agapinor Hotel - Paphos
Advantages: Clean, air -conditioned rooms
Disadvantages: Location and poor choice of evening meals
...My boyfriend and i stayed at the Agapinor for 11 nights in June 2006.
We booked through Go-Travel having only a small hoilday fund! We knew we wanted to go to Paphos but didn't mind were we stayed. For our budget we only had a choice of this hotel and a self catering hotel. We chose the Agapinor as the description said it was close to the shops and it was half board. the hotel and flights cost £450 each.
What i didn't realise was that there are two parts to Paphos, the old town (which is where the Agopinor is situated) and the tourist part by the harbour, the distance between the two is about 3km. This became a problem as all the bars, clubs and restaurants are near the harbour. In the daytime there is a bus service which runs about every 10 mins and costs about 40p, this stops early evening so the only way to get to the harbour is...

King Jason Apartments
Advantages: Location, Cleanliness, Ameneties, People
Disadvantages: Only One Shop within 2 minute walk
...King Jason Apartments Paphos must be one of the most organised and well rounded places to stay on your Summer or Winter holidays. The staff could not be friendlier and the place itself is hard to beat.
When you first arrive there is always numerous staff there to welcome you in, with a refreshing glass of pure orange juice or apple juice, morning, noon or night. In our experience it is usually about 3am!
Your suitcases are taken along to your room which is extremely spacious and makes you feel like you have your very own home in Cyprus. The decor is simple but exquisite; white with hints of yellow to colour the room. The bathrooms all sparkling white with all ameneties, much like the Kitchen which has everything you could need. The balconies of the apartment makes the feeling of being on holiday all the better as you can sit out...

Portrait of Paphos
Advantages: Charming combination of the old and the new give this resort something for everyone.
Disadvantages: Heat oppressive at height of summer. Some areas rather loud and built up
...on his visit to Cyprus in 45 AD. The Paphos of today is left with an impressive legacy of its various inhabitants throughout the ages with many archaeological remains and historical sites. There are the Ptolemy influenced Tomb of Kings to the more "modern" Roman remains and mosaics, all of which can be visited. In fact, you could describe Paphos as very much an open museum. UNESCO have included the whole town on its list of cultural and natural treasures of world heritage.
~*~ PAPHOS TODAY ~*~
Cyprus is renowned for its warm hospitality, and Paphos was certainly no exception, with all the locals being very friendly. In Cyprus, People say hello to you because they want to greet you, not just as a way to attract your attention so that they can try and sell you something.
I found Paphos to be much larger than I was expecting, as...

Tombs of the Kings
Advantages: Interesting, fun
Disadvantages: No place for refreshments
...Cyprus is one of the best places to visit if you like exploring archaeological sites and ruins. After a recent visit to the island, I have decided to write about a few of these places. At the top of my list is the Tombs of the Kings.
Tombs of the kings is a huge ancient cemetery in Paphos. Despite the name, the Tombs of the Kings was never used for royal burials. Instead, rich citizens were laid to rest in the site. Tombs of the Kings is named so because of the impressive appearance of the tombs. The area was used for burials during the Hellenistic and Roman times. After this, it was used as a refuge place for early Christians during times of persecution. Some of the larger tombs were used by squatters during medieval times who altered some of the architecture. Unfortunately, the site was also popular with looters who stole many...

Poor Hotel in Coral Bay Paphos
Advantages: Good Range of Food, in a Nice Location
Disadvantages: Not clean, staff not helpful
...We visited the Ascos Coral Beach Hotel last August and I'm afraid I really don't have many good things to say about it!
>>>>Overview<<<<
This is a 4 star hotel located in Coral Bay 11km Paphos. It is an adult only hotel and does not take bookings for anyone under the age of 16. It has 2 swimming pools one indoor and one outdoor, a gym, a Jacuzzi and a souvenir shop.
The hotel offer a half board option or an all inclusive option. We booked last minute on an all inclusive basis, this cost us just under £1000 which we thought was really good value.
>>>> LOCATION <<<<
The hotel is situated in Coral Bay which is about a 10 min drive from Paphos. The hotel is quite a bit out of the way so to get around it is better to hire a car.
It's a very quiet town containing only a few hotels, villas, a crazy golf course and one street...

Helios Bay Hotel, Paphos (well almost)
Advantages: Beautiful setting, helpful staff
Disadvantages: Quite a way from Paphos town centre
...We stayed at this Hotel in June and had originally booked two studio apartments but on arrival we were upgraded to a two bedroom villa this may have affected my opinion of this hotel.
The only complaint we could possibly have made about this Hotel is it is not actually in Paphos, it is the last hotel on the 'Tomb of the Kings' road running out of Paphos, having said that we had a hire car so the distance wasn't a problem for us but if you were expecting to stay here and walk into Paphos you'd have a long walk.
Right that is the complaint out of the way now for the good points. Firstly you must go to at least one of the Monday night BBQ's, not so much for the quality of the food but to watch the Greek dancing, the main male dancer was supported by one of the other dancers every time he did a kick, it was hilarious.
We were...
