Kiss Of The Dragon

Advantages: Great fight scenes
Disadvantages: NOt particularly an original story

...Kiss Of The Dragon was released in 2001 and stars Jet Li (Romeo Must die), Bridget Fonda (Jackie Brown) and Tceky Laryo (Bad Boys) and is set in the beatiful Paris. This blu ray release enhances the setting, quality of clothing, everything basically. Its quite a dark film and the blu ray version gives you those little bits of brightness that give you enough hope that the stroy will have a happy ending. Li plays Liu Jiuan, but is constantly called Johnny, and is a top chinese government agent who is bought over from china to assist Richard (Laryo) a french police officer in a international drugs conspiracy. Little does Johnny know that Richard is a bent copper who is the mastermind behind the whole thing. Richard sees Johnny as a nuisance and sets him up for a murder he didnt committ. Johnny is forced to run in a strange country...

...My husband and I have recently subscribed to Sky movies which entitle us to watch some more channels. We are both film addicts and love to watch new and old films. We love films of any genre and even those with subtitles. We thought it would work out cheaper subscribing to sky movies rather than hiring video's every night. I would replace my first kiss experience for this one

Advantages: A decent cast who know their roles.
Disadvantages: Limited writing and lack of character depth.

But director Tony Goldwyn fails to pull everything together to make you actually care. Disadvantages: What's different to any other Simpsons DVD?

...Another Simpsons DVD offering, and for this reviewer, another disappointment. It isn't that the episodes featured ('Natural Born Kissers', 'The Way We Weren't', 'Large Marge', and 'Three Gays Of The Condo') are bad episodes, it is simply that I do not believe that this offers any better value for money than any other Simpsons DVD. I also felt annoyed when buying the product, the creators have referred to the DVD as containing four 'unreleased' episodes...this is not true, 'Natural Born Kissers' featured on the earlier Simpsons - 'Too Hot For Tv' DVD. Although it is a good episode, and has the same tongue-in-cheek comedy that most Simpsons episodes convey, the claim is unproven, something that frustrated me. Kiss of the Kicked Ass

...Chow Yun Fat, Jackie Chan, Stephen Chow, Donnie Yen, Bruce Lee. All names instantly associated with asian cinema. Add to that list one Jet Li, a small perfectly formed man who just happens to be capable of kicking your ass very quickly and efficiently. Li decided to enter the american market with an appearance in Lethal Weapon 4, not the most ideal of introductions but hey it's a start. Next was a starring role in the film Romeo Must Die, an action film with some good action but a story that really didn't make much sense when all was said and done. Now comes Kiss of the Dragon. ...After the success of "The Matrix", more and more films are leaning in the same direction, wire work fights, slow motion/bullet-time etc etc. Of course none of which being able to compare with the likes of "The Matrix". The only film that has managed to pull off such a good bullet-time effect that it can give "The Matrix" a run for its money is the exploding hostage at the beginning of "Swordfish", one of the most under ratted but one of the most enjoyable actioners that year. A kiss from a good film.

...The kiss of the dragon was a completely different DVD, from what I ever bought. I have always enjoyed watching the Bruce Lee films, and this DVD was selling cheap in ASDA so I thought I would buy it. The plot of the film consists of Liu Jian, a police officer from china comes the Paris to help the vice squad to try and get hold of a Chinese drug lord. The head of the French police, Richard kills the Chinese drug lord and tries to frame Liu for the murder. However Jian escapes the hotel with a tape that shows he is innocent but before he hands it over to one of his bosses, his boss is killed. After being alone, hiding within Paris, he meets a US girl who is one of Richard hookers. He has her own problems at the moment; Richard has the little girl captured, to ensure that she still works for him. Now Jian has to protect Jessica...

FRENCH KISS ANY DAY OF THE WEEK

While Kate initially doesn?t want anything to do with Luc, he does offer her a ride into the city ? she doesn?t realise his friendliness has more to do with what she?s unwittingly carrying in her bag for him, than it does with any sense of friendship or attraction. But when Kate?s belongings are stolen (!), she and Luc end up working together - even if their goals are very different (she ends up telling Luc about Charlie's infidelity and her quest). So, now, Luc is desperate to find his missing cargo and Kate is stranded in France because her passport is gone and bureaucratic red-tape is preventing her from replacing it. Needless to say, Kate and Luc mix like oil and water. Can romance possibly blossom? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My personal thoughts: As you've just read, 'French Kiss' doesn't have a demanding plot...
